Problems with the heart cannot always be seen right away, only in films a person grabs his chest and picturesque falls to the floor, in real life the signs of cardiovascular diseases can be completely different. It is stated by scientists from the Institute of the Heart and Vessels of the State of Pennsylvania. Unpleasant feelings may not be related to pain or the heart area, but the next 11 symptoms should be paid attention – especially if you are more than 60 years old, or you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or excess weight. The more risk factors, the more likely that the signs listed below indicate heart and vascular disease.
Discomfort in the chest
This is the most common symptom. If you have a sore chest or have a feeling of tightness, pressure, perhaps it should be shown to the cardiologist. Experts say that everyone describes this discomfort in their own way, some feel that something has been pinched inside, others – that burns in the chest, the third – as if an elephant has sat down on them. The feeling lasts longer than a few minutes, it can occur in a state of rest, and with physical activity.
Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, and pain in this area
In some patients, such problems can be an indicator of heart disease. This is more common in women. Of course, indigestion can be completely unrelated to the heart, but if you are at risk – better consult a doctor.
Pain that spreads in hand
It is also one of the classic signs. If the pain begins in the chest and spreads to the left side of the body is probably an exacerbation of the disease. Sometimes the hand can hurt more than the chest.
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Many things can cause dizziness. For example, you have eaten too little or drank, or maybe suddenly got up. But in combination with other symptoms, it can also indicate that the heart can not cope with the pumping of blood through the body.
Sore throat or jaw
By itself, such pain can mean anything – for example, it happens with a cold. But if the chest pain spreads to the throat and further – also it is worth paying a visit to the doctor.
If you quickly get tired or out of breath after a simple action (for example, brought food from the car and can not catch your breath) – go to the doctor. These symptoms can even be significant. If weakness attacks you, and you can not understand where it came from, check the heart.
If a person does not snore very much, it can be normal. However, too loud snoring can be a sign of problems with breathing, which, in turn, affect the work of the heart.
If you suddenly become covered with a cold sweat, and feel any other symptoms from the described, call the doctor. These may be signs of a heart attack.
An incessant cough
Such a cough can be an indication that the lungs are not getting enough blood. Again a visit to the doctor is necessary (a cough itself is also not very pleasant).
Edema of the feet
When the heart pumps blood not as intensively as it should, it can stagnate in the veins of the legs, which leads to the swelling of the extremities. Also, with heart failure, kidneys work worse, which can also be expressed as edema.
The heart can change its rhythm if you are nervous, but if it continues for more than a few seconds or happens too often – tell the cardiologist about it.
