About Zoloft

Composition

1 tablet Zoloft 50 mg (100 mg) contains sertraline hydrochloride 0.05 g (0.1 g). Auxiliary components: calcium dihydrogen phosphate, MCC, hydroxypropylcellulose, sodium carboxymethyl-starch, magnesium stearate, HPMC, macrogol, polysorbates, titanium dioxide.

Pharmachological effect

Sertraline is the active ingredient in Zoloft. He stops the reagent (reverse capture) of serotonin, which is performed by the neurons that have isolated it. As a result, the concentration of the neurotransmitter increases in the synaptic gap and the main cause of depressive states, the serotonin deficiency, is eliminated.

The effect on serotonin receptors causes a significant correction of the mental state of patients with depression. It manifests itself in heightening the mood, eliminating phobias, anxious states, reducing feelings of melancholy, and reducing appetite. The drug acts on 5-HT receptors. On the reagent of norepinephrine, dopamine is weakly affected. There was no sedative, cardiotoxic effect, anticholinergic effect and stimulation effect. Zoloft does not provoke the formation of dependence. Long-term therapy can lead to a decrease in the activity of adrenaline receptors in the brain.

    Zoloft for Depression

I only got half a zoloft, say 25mg. This intake was good and helped me abruptly. Despite announcement of this drug would take about two weeks to show full effect, it struck me within two days. So on the third day I got 50mg; the intended dose. Within ten minutes I began to hallucinate; I saw bugs and colorful spots; my panic attacks were immediate and stronger than usual. I was terrified of everything and everyone. I did not get enough air, could not be alone in the dark, I vomited half the night and had chills – I just wanted to die. The next morning I was blown away, after a night without sleep. I’ve had almost three days of terrible anxiety, vomiting, and, above all, hearing voices. It was terrible. Although I am now on half the dose, 25mg, set, and I’m really fine.

    Zoloft for Depression

Very effective at first, anxiety, aggressive behavior and panic attacks appeared after a few months. sweating since the beginning of the medication, as well as sleep problems, abnormal dreams, orgasm problems, shaky hands and paranoid delusions. After weaning despite escaping electro-shock sensations occurred in the head, which lasted almost 2 months. In addition, dizziness and greater depression than before. The increased depression went away after 1-2 weeks. Despite everything, I have the feeling that I have sustained by Zoloft lasting damage in the sense of paranoid delusions and strong mood swings, the mood can change within hours. This was not the case before Zoloft. The increased sweating went back slightly, but I’m still sweating more than before, and 1 year after weaning.

    Zoloft for Depression

When you start taking Zoloft, you experience side effects such as increased sweating, restlessness, restlessness, muscle cramping (in my jaw muscles and legs), insomnia, impaired vision and nausea, and gastrointestinal problems. Most of these side effects disappear after one to two weeks. The tablets should never be taken on an empty stomach, it comes to a strong nausea with stomach pain and extreme salivation until vomiting! Although Zoloft helped me with my severe depression, the side effects that persist during the treatment have been a reason for me not to prescribe this drug again. (After several years with the preparation) Over a longer period of treatment you get the feeling of indifference. You feel remotely controlled, emotionally cold, you can live out neither negative nor positive emotions. You can work better, but the social aspect and your own personality are increasingly neglected. Sleep disturbances and restlessness occurred from time to time, especially when things had to be done longer. Libido and the fun of having sex diminish over time, but this is also influenced by the way in which you perceive your partner in a different way through this new, cooler and more objective view. After a few months of treatment, I separated from my longtime partner, which I have not regretted until today, before I just could not bring the strength I needed and could not make hard decisions. When weaning I had no withdrawal symptoms. Conclusion: It is a drug that can help you in a difficult situation to regain control of your life, you become rational, you can rethink your important decisions, your performance improves. The disadvantage is that one increasingly gets the feeling of becoming inhuman, feelings can be badly perceived and lived out. With the negative emotions disappear the positive ones.

    Zoloft for Depression

At the beginning of the intake stomach and intestinal problems, latent nausea, loud stomach sounds and rumbling, current feeling in the spine and feeling of heat ascending in the whole body after the first week a total of 2 episodes. Strong restlessness until two hours after ingestion, then tiredness. These symphtomas all disappeared after the fourth week. Appearance is increased, water retention in the morning more on the face than in the body. Weight gain, which I attributed to the increase in appetite and the accumulation of water a total of 5 kg in two weeks, then standstill.

On the first day of ingestion, I became restless, had palpitations, but this had settled quickly (the same day). Since then, taking no side effects, so no weight gain, cramps, etc. – I can also find no indifference and feeling cold. On the contrary, with the (together with the taking of the drug) carried out the positive therapy I am much better, I am balanced, human, hearted and have rediscovered my personality and learned to appreciate reports on television (ZDF, 02.12.2008) on the However, serious side effects have scared me and I hope that I will not experience any negative experiences in connection with this drug – will definitely ask my doctor (possibly replacement drug)

    Zoloft for Depression

I have only had very good experiences! Have treated three episodes of depression so very successful, always after 3-4 days significant mood improvement (50mg entry, increase to 75mg, after 6-8 weeks back to 50 again); less appetite and thus light weight loss (only at the beginning, then weight and appetite back to normal). Each time the depression had almost completely disappeared after 3 weeks of intake, energy and joie de vivre came back. After about 3-4 months, I always get the signal from my body, that he no longer needs the Medikamemnt, then it is outgrown
