What Side Effects Can Yasmin Have?

Below is a list of the most important possible known side effects of Yasmin. These side effects do not occur, but you can. Because every person reacts differently to medication. Please also note that the type and frequency of adverse reactions may vary depending on the drug formulation (eg tablet, syringe, ointment).

Common side effects:

menstrual cycle disorders ( amenorrhoea ), intermenstrual bleeding, chest pain, headache, depressive moods, migraine, nausea and vomiting, vaginal discharge and fungal vaginal infections

Uncommon side effects:

changes in libido, high blood pressure,
lowering blood pressure, acne, hypersensitivity reactions (rash, itching, fluid retention), vaginal thrush, weight changes

Rare side effects:

fluid secretion of the mammary glands, asthma, deafness, vascular occlusions (thrombosis)

Special features:

During use, special attention should be paid to signs of obstruction of veins or arteries. These include, for example, severe pain or swelling of a leg, which may be accompanied by pressure pain, warming or change in the skin color of the leg, sudden unexplained shortness of breath, severe chest pain, symptoms of heart attack or stroke. If such problems are noticed, the intake should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted.
