Fields of application of Yasmin

The drug combination of ethinylestradiol and drospirenone is used for hormonal contraception. In addition, the active ingredients can also be used to normalize cycle disorders. These include infrequent or too frequent bleeding ( dysmenorrhoea ).

The following application areas of Yasmin is available:

  • contraception
  • acne

Mode of action of Yasmin

Ethinyl estradiol and drospirenone are among the group of estrogen-progestagen combinations for contraception.

Ethinyl estradiol is related to the body’s own hormone estradiol from the estrogen group. Drospirenone is a progestin (luteal hormone) and is similar to progesterone.

The interaction of estrogens and progestins helps prepare the body for pregnancy, ovulation, and the recovery phase of a woman’s monthly cycle. This is done by distributing these hormones differently on certain cycle days.

By using the drug combination, the body is offered increased amounts of estrogens and progestins. The body is faked as a pregnancy. As a result, ovulation is inhibited and the thickening of the lining of the premature nevi, which is necessary for implantation of the egg, is avoided. This means a double protection from pregnancy. Drospirenone additionally thickens the mucus at the uterine entrance, so that sperm can penetrate worse. Through its positive influence on the development of the lining of the uterus, drospirenone can also counteract cycle disorders that are due to irregular or irregular bleeding (ie the degradation of the endometrium).

Yasmin for Contraception; Pain (menstruation); Acne

I have been taking the Yasmin for a little over a year, starting with the weaker form (Yasminelle). When I only took the Yasmin, the effect was better. The skin was soon super (had to fight with acne before). Also, at first I did not increase. Unfortunately, the yasmin and the lamotrigine are in unfavorable interaction. The progestin effect of the pill is diminished by the lamotrigine and the effect of the lamotrigine by the pill, but I managed to come to terms with it (especially by taking both medications at a certain interval so that the hormones could already be ingested before the next lamotrigine In the end, lamotrigine is the only antiepileptic medication that I can take with the pill, unfortunately I have gained a few pounds since then Unfortunately, I can not say which of the medications I have taken, which is quite positive noticed is that the estrogens have a completely different effect on me, namely, that since then my mood is more stable in the long term, than under the pure lamotrigine ingestion (the first days I was a little bent, since permanently stable) The pain that I had before and during menstruation has almost completely disappeared, and the bleeding itself has been shortened by several days and much weaker. Great!!

    Side effects: Increase in weight

    Yasmin for Acne

Yasmin was recommended to me by my FA because I suffered a lot from acne. The skin problems have improved, but unfortunately I had to detect ettliche side effects. I always get a headache during the regular breaks. Besides, I do not feel like having sex anymore. Sometimes it even bothers me when he only touches me !!! In addition, I suffer from hypertension. I really can only advise against this pill. I’ll finish this pill and drop it off immediately! I have also gained weight since taking the pill.

Far too expensive, makes impure skin, I had to sleep at least 15 hours per day on the weekend, increased 8 kg (steady kilo increase), but the hunger feeling was still there, no matter how much I ate. Tachycardia or too slow a heartbeat made me almost unable to breathe and my breathing was hard (and my heart ached). In addition, I was extremely emotional, aggressive and depressed. Let’s get your hands off it …! I can only advise against it. This is really a horror pill.

I would not recommend Yasmin. Since I started, there have been a gradual and ever-increasing number of side effects: weight gain, more frequent migraine attacks, severe depression and mood swings, severe abdominal pain, respiratory distress, heart rhythm disturbances .. I suspect these are due to this pill, since I never used it before had suffered (except with migraine). That’s why I dropped Yasmin.

I take the pill Yasmin for a month now. Already after a few days I got shortness of breath, tight in the chest, often headache, nausea, as well as I had almost the whole month spotting. The gynecologist explains that it takes some time for the body to get used to it. Whether I will actually stay with Yasmin is rather questionable at the moment.

I took the Yasmin pill for about 2 years, but had to discontinue it because of massive side effects. It started with Mirgräneattacken (very bad), depressive moods, breast tensions (right pain), nausea. But worst of all, these were Mirgräneattacken. I have dropped her off now and I’m totally free of complaints. Next I think the pill too expensive. For half a year you pay about 58 €.

Side effects: Breast span; Nausea; Migraine

    Yasmin for Depression

Just terrible! Take the Yasmin now over 1 year, after taking the first pack, I had terrible mood swings. I was unbearable. Have increasingly worse headaches, breast tenderness and listlessness, sudden cramps without a reason, before, during and after the period. 4 months ago then hair loss and it is getting worse. Will the Yasmin now sell, because it is now not only for my environment unbearable. I myself can not handle myself anymore. I definitely do not recommend YasminHowever, I did not gain weight and did not notice any change in my skin (neither positive nor negative)

Hello After I discontinued the pill Famina ratiopharm 20, because it was too low doses I was prescribed the Yasmin. It was said to make beautiful hair and skin, eases the menstrual cramps and you would not get overweight. After a few weeks I suffered from circulatory problems. My legs and arms continued to fall asleep without me lying on it or otherwise restricting my blood flow. I was not overweight and my menstrual cramps were gone, but the skin did not improve. In the third month, I once had symptoms of pregnancy. I felt as if I had my days, I was sick all day, I had stomach ache, dizziness, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, joint pain, genital pain, and so on. Mood swings. In these 3 months I had 3 times a bladder infection. I was at the doctor who realized that I was NOT pregnant. I stopped the pill and the symptoms were ALL gone. Stay away from this pill … !!
