Tamoxifen for Breast cancer
I have been taking Tamoxifen since July 2010. I have hot flashes mainly at night and joint pain in my legs, which are bearable. Before the start of therapy I had strong and frequent hot flashes, also during the day, which has improved since taking tamoxifen. Weight loss up to now about 5 kg. I have the feeling that my general condition has improved since starting tamoxifen therapy. However, I realized now that my fingernails splinter and my hair is not so good to style. I hope that will happen again in the course of the therapy. Otherwise, I hope the drug works.
Side effects: Weight loss; Hair change; Fingernail fragility; Joint pain; Hot flashes
Tamoxifen for Breast cancer
Slowly and very insidiously, the side effects have set and strengthened so much that I discontinued the drug prematurely after taking one year. By the side effects (especially strong pain in all joints and muscles, listlessness, hair loss, nail brittleness, strong mood swings, sleep problem etc.) my quality of life was so severely limited that it became unbearable! The drug has actually done its work, but – from my personal point of view – the price is too high.
Side effects: Depression; Fingernail fragility; Muscle aches; Mood swings; Listlessness; Hair loss; Joint pain
Tamoxifen for Breast cancer
I think I have everything there is to side effects. Hizblasungen but the finest. I have gained about 25 kg, water accumulation spread over the whole body, extreme in the hands and legs. Shortness of breath is also nothing extraordinary not only under stress. Some of my joints hurt all day. At 49, I feel like an old woman. Even my eyes have changed / worsened and burn constantly. Sleep in one piece, again a whole night, would be great, but not more. Add to that fatigue and fatigue. The meantime extreme hair loss has improved a bit, but the hair is brittle and dull. Fragile are my fingernails. So I think I could go on. If I was not that stubborn, I’d have dropped that stuff long ago.

Tamoxifen for Breast cancer
Hot flashes with subsequent cold sensation (very common), weight gain, water retention, concentration and memory disorders, vaginal dryness, vaginal discharge, vaginal fungus, itching in the genital area, brittle fingernails, hair loss, cramps in the feet, carpal tunnel syndrome, nocturnal urination, mild sleep disorders … Me take tamoxifen after a breast surgery (breast cancer) for 4 years and 4 months. The first 3 years additionally Trenantone. I had 36 shots, no chemo. I can live with the side effects pretty well, but I feel like I’m more susceptible to illnesses, I’m always plagued by some nonsense. Since I was almost never ill before my breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 42 and never before in the hospital, so I have my problems with it. My visual impairment has also increased, but since I was already very short-sighted (above -10 dioptres) and my eyes have always worsened steadily, I can not judge whether the now progressive visual impairment is accelerated by the use of tamoxifen. I also have the impression that I have less hair, but since I’m blessed with extremely big and thick hair, I think that’s not so bad ;-). I also occasionally have to deal with mood swings, which at least my friend claims ;-). All in all, I’m fine, I’m continuing my (stressful) job and if tamoxifen helped to extend my life, then it was worth the side effects.

Tamoxifen for Breast cancer
For a good three years, I take the drug. At first, I had no side effects. After about a year, finger and Fußnagelbrüchigkeit set (OK, I go to the nail salon). Hair loss (OK, I’ll take Regain). Weight gain (3 kg), although I go to the sport 5 times a week, and eat vegetarian. Fatigue without end: every night only 4 hours, and also interrupted. If I were still working, I would certainly be dismissed. My doctor advises me to hold out. But it’s a rocky road. I am now 60 years old and had two operating theaters and one OP to rebuild, no chemo, 28 shots. I wish all sufferers endurance and a good recovery. Ulrike

Tamoxifen for Breast cancer
Suffering from breast cancer in May 2008, breast conserving surgery, then 6x chemo and 37x radiation. Everything over well. Chemo with side effects, but not as bad as always is told, irradiation without side effects. Herceptin every 3 weeks with fingernail fragility and tiredness as well as bone pain and mood swings, but everything is also bearable. Without this therapy we would be worse off. I can only say to all women, do not lose heart, then everything will be fine. \
