Effect of Sumatriptan

Like all triptans, sumatriptan narrows the blood vessels in the brain, thus reducing pain transmission. All migraine-typical complaints such as headache, blurred vision, nausea and vomiting are alleviated. The specific mechanism of action of sumatriptan also explains why the drug is ineffective in headache of other causes.

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

I have suffered from migraine with aura since childhood (especially the eyes are affected). Most of the time I have very pain behind the eyes and at the temples. Suatriptan is the first remedy that looks really fast and reliable. Within 20min, the pain, which is really unbearable, completely disappeared. The photosensitivity decreases as well! The symptoms do not disappear completely, I often feel dizzy. But still rate this drug very well as it is the most effective I have known so far. Incidentally, I take only half a tablet (ie 25g) and even this low dose helps me!

    Side effects: No side effects

    Sumatriptan for Cluster headache

I’m taking Sumatriptan for about 3 years now and I’m getting sick from AZ, the headaches are gone but the body is completely crazy. I have difficulty swallowing, when I can shower I can hardly bear the hot water running down my body, especially on my head. Furthermore, I have herniated discs in the cervical spine and can not move my head properly and it is even strengthened by taking it. But what is worse, I have very strong word-finding problems which is not so good in the job. The phases between the pains become shorter, but the periods of pain become longer. Sometimes I do not know how to continue ………

    Sumatriptan for Cluster headache

As a side effect, I had a feeling of tightness and a little pain swallowing in my throat. In addition, dizziness and I was sensitive to pain. For cluster headaches, 100 percent oxygen helps me. However, after the attacks I have a rather unpleasant after-pain which I treat with sumatriptan. The side effects are so strong that I take a tablet at most in the evening to get rid of the pain. Driving a car I would not be under the influence of Sumatriptan due to the strong drowsiness.

    Side effects: Dizziness

    Sumatriptan for Cluster headache; Migraine

I (w, 22) have these really strong attacks for about 3 years, ie pain only around the eye and right side of the face. Sumatriptan got 100mg for the first time and it helped pretty well at first without any side effects. However, at that time I additionally got ASA acute / 500 i.v and was pain free for 1 year. In the following year, I had such attacks again but could be well restrained with Sumatriptan. This year I have 10 days of pain and suddenly I have experienced some side effects such as drowsiness, fatigue and nausea, so my day was over. Therefore, I switched to Rizatriptan Orodispersible 10mg or Naratriptan 2.5mg (over-the-counter), as I no longer feel cut off. The effect occurs in my opinion in the latter two earlier than Sumatriptan after only about 30 minutes show effect. I also got Perfalgan + Caffeine i.v this time. However, I advise to ASS i.v harm does not do it except those who are not allowed to take blood thinners and it helps in addition and the tremendous i.v therefore, as it acts faster than oral.

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

Effect is great the side effects are deadly! For years I have suffered from severe migraine headaches. That’s why my family doctor Sumatriptan prescribed 100mg! They work within 30 min and the pains are gone too, unfortunately, then start the side effects. I became so dizzy after taking it that I could not go to the bathroom alone. About 15 minutes later, I had the feeling that you are lacing my throat, then my heart was racing and I had a maddening push on my chest! I thought my last hour had struck. Unfortunately, these are some of the typical side effects of this drug!

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

I take Sumatriptan are February, always on demand. The effect starts about 30 minutes later. However, then I have sore throat, tight throat, a lot of thirst and a few balance disorders. For me, in contrast to the migraine attack itself, this is a minor side effect.

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

Only take this medication if I can not handle the migraine at all because the tolerability and side effects severely affect my stomach and my balance. With MCP drops in advance they are easier to digest. Lie down after taking and not be alone, as the body is fogged and the balance is disturbed – at least for me quite massive. Suffering from migraine for 38 years and the only thing that really helps is to switch off, lay down, meditate or do relaxation exercises, practice Qigong and Yoga, and exclude food intolerances. Good luck!

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

Deafness especially noticeable on the face. Tingling in the face. In the arms strong tingling and a feeling of very warm spots. Dizziness, very slight balance disorders. Have very strong migraine attacks, approximately after 30 minutes of taking the action of the drug begins. The migraine is stopped after about 1-1.5 hours (that is, no further worsening) … from then on, the migraine begins to weaken. After about 3-4 hours, the migraine has subsided. Very effective drug. Highly recommended for severe migraine attacks.

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

I take Sumatriptan once a month when I get my rule then I always have migraines before or after, thanks to Sumatriptan I have that far under control. I also have a side effect, some nausea and tingling, when I get into the tub, it burns something on the skin as if you have a sunburn (but goes away as soon as you get out of the tub). When taking this drug, you should lie down for about 1 hour, the pain is totally gone after 15 minutes. As an alternative, very good Dolotriptan, which is available without a prescription, cost 9,97 € for 2 tablets.

    Side effects: Hautempflindlichkeit; Nausea

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

The first and only medication that really helps, sometimes after half an hour and sometimes after one hour. If the headache is not over yet, I’ll take Ibuprofen 400, which is rare. The side effects are sometimes, urinate frequently, sensitive to warm water, it feels really hot. Sometimes total fatigue, body aches and sometimes no side effects at all. Nevertheless, I like to accept that, because the migraine is otherwise unbearable, but you have to take the tablets right at the first sign. Always carry the tablets with you, always have 1 or 2 tablets in all my pockets.

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

I always take relpax 40 mg with miräne. For the purpose of the current high cost I have tried another triptan. sumatriptan. that was absolutely negative. a) did not help, the pain did not really go away. b) I was absolutely trembling, dizzy, whatever you want to call that. I had total heat flashes and heart racing. After 4 hours I took my relpax and 2 hours later everything was nice! It’s great that the health reform and the health insurance companies want to save money at the expense of their patients. either you pay or you just live with the pain and the side effects.

    Sumatriptan for A headache; Migraine

First, the drug did not work. So I assume that the family doctor has misdiagnosed. Second, the side effects are still there after the 5th hour of intake and I have to eat tea and salt bars because I can not keep anything else inside me. I would not recommend the drug in my place. Maybe someone can tell me from when the side effects to let me would be very helpful.

    Sumatriptan for A headache; Migraine

Because of previous and recurrent strong headaches, type migraine, right side – the HA gave me Sumatriptan. The headache somehow actually stopped, but I was not pain free – but stunned. Other pains suddenly became noticeable on various parts of the body. Have Sumatriptan set aside and forget what the connections were. Since the severe headaches recur, I had the applied pack again applied. The headaches were also eliminated this time, but I had since increased stomach problems and body aches. After the cause was not so easy to determine; The doctor has evaluated blood laboratory values, and it has been found that the body constantly fights any inflammation and therefore I became increasingly tired and had muscle pain. I had to sell Sumatriptan.

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

Against the headache and the aura, the drug has helped very well, but the side effects are so strong that I will not take it again. An infinite tiredness was the result and visual disturbances, which are not fully subsided 2 days later. Pretty bad thing. In addition, there was hypertension and a parallel languor. I can only advise against it in view of the strong side effects.

    Side effects: Blurred vision; Fatigue

    Sumatriptan for Migraine

I took this medicine for the first time against migraine and was completely switched off..Atemnot, numbness of the arms and legs, nausea, dizziness, visual disturbances, cold sweat which lasts more than 2 hours and longer still the slackness..For me that is definitely not More in question because then the migraine is better than going through something like that again!
