Application of the active substance mesalazine

Mesalazine is used in inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The aim of the treatment is to heal the inflammation and alleviate the symptoms it causes: pain and diarrhea.

Melsalazine can be given either by taking it in the form of tablets or by introducing it into the intestine in the form of suppositories, rectal foam or clysters.

More detailed information is available on the following Mesalazin application areas:

  • chronic inflammatory bowel disease

Mode of action of mesalazine

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease suffer from severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. Typically, the disorders are not uniform. There are periods of intense inflammatory activity and severe discomfort with interim periods in which patients are almost symptom free. In the affected persons strongly increased concentrations of endogenous inflammation-promoting substances such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes and interleukins are to be found in the intestinal mucous membranes.

Like all active substances from the group of aminosalicylates, mesalazine blocks the production of these inflammatory mediators and thus has an anti-inflammatory effect. With the drug, the symptoms can be combated in an acute phase of the disease, but it can also prevent relapses in seizure-free time.

Because mesalazine is not absorbed into the rest of the body, it only works locally in the gut and has few side effects.

    Salofalk for Intestinal inflammation

After twice longer hospital stay, severe intestinal inflammation and almost no emptying, despite Salofalk. Here I believe that there is Salofalk where not all active ingredients are in it. Salufalk showed little effect! – Only the original Original Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH showed a good effect. And I take it already some years. My intestinal complaints are hardly available and the inflammations have stopped. Evidence colonoscopy.

    Side effects: No side effects

    Salofalk for Morbus crohn

For 35 years, Crohn’s disease, no side effect, take medication only on relapses, then creeping gradually. Had a heart attack and to lower the colestin naturally, I took 1 tablespoon of olive oil daily (with lowest acidity, available only from a monastery in Crete) for 1 year. The Fogen were, the thrusts piled up. In 1983, the Crohn caused an intestinal obstruction, thereby emergency surgery and 1 meter no longer perfused black small intestine removed. From 2000 I had problems with the scar at the transition thin / large intestine. Through the repeatedly inflamed intestine, the scar hardens and the intestine is at this point in the passage ever smaller. Here are the parts of the food puddings that are too big for the passage to hang. The result is a backwater (similar to intestinal obstruction). Here I have developed my own strategy, without drugs. In order to make the nub elastic in this case, I put a hot water bottle on this spot until the intestinal gurgling takes place and the stenosis loosens.

    Side effects: No side effects
