Application of the active substance Olanzapine

Olanzapine is added to the group of neuroleptics (nerve depressants). It is used for the treatment of psychosis, as they occur in the context of schizophrenia or a manic disease (mania).

The drug is intended to help patients who have lost touch with reality due to central nervous system disease and as a result suffer from major depression, agitation or anxiety disorders.

Olanzapine is mostly given in the form of tablets. If ingestion is not possible, the drug can also be injected into the muscle (intramuscular administration).

Mode of action of Olanzapine

Psychoactive drugs (neuroleptics) such as olanzapine block the binding sites (receptors) for the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. This reduces psychotic disorders such as hallucinations and delusions.

As an atypical neuroleptic Olanzapin also occupied binding sites for the neurotransmitter serotonin. This reduces the apathy of the sick, reduces depression, improves memory and improves the ability to concentrate.

Olanzapine for Anxiety and panic attacks; Psychosis

I took the drug Olanzapine 5mg, because of my psychosis .. already at the first intake I felt mega funny !! Hard to explain, but my psychosis was gone .. that was the only good thing .. After not even 3 days taking in, every night I noticed more and more a back stab, sideways and I had the feeling hardly any air to get more .. reduced to 2,5mg down, but it did not get better but worse !! Had the feeling I get a heart attack !!! I’m to the doctor, ECG Thank God everything is fine, but I have not tolerated this drug … since I set it off I’m fine again, except my psychosis is back! : – / Now I’m trying it with another drug.

    Olanzapine for Sleep disorders

A very good medi to sleep. Had depression after cannabis and Extasy withdrawal. Zyprexa was better sleep faster, in the morning well out. Tiredness when getting up but good for sleeping. If there’s just too much adrenalin in one, they’ll bring you down. For prolonged take, moderate withdrawal symptoms at weaning.

    Side effects: Withdrawal symptoms

    Olanzapine for Psychosis

I have already taken olanzapine for 7 years 20 MG and must say that it is the best drug against a psychosis. It works very fast and safe. Side effect was with me a weight gain and listlessness. You have to take this in the purchase if you want to have no more psychosis.

I am at 2.5 mg olanzapine every evening. this small dose is enough for a restful sleep, sleep is the most important thing. I also read a lot that the sleep improves significantly. When getting up, you have a minimal hangover, but you get away wonderfully with coffee. the drug helps me against my various anxieties, e.g. not being able to sleep and not being able to perform well the next day, it helps me to see impressions more rationally, one is altogether more relaxed. Also, do not pull the daily problems of others so down. All in all, a really good drug and the 2.5 mg so good against fears and problems, it is really great, but I have come for my sensitivity and thin skin, which unfortunately is genetically determined. (this calmness comes only after 7 days)

    Side effects: No side effects

    Olanzapine for Depression

Next to Olanzapine since August 2013 mostly 15 mg then 10 mg now 5 mg Have been around for about 6 weeks constantly thirst and hunger cravings. Feel miserable How should the depression give way? Now there is a suspicion of diabetes insidipus. A rare diabetes that does not mimic diabetes. has to do. But very bad. You have to constantly drink large quantities, which makes a very restrictive and crumbly. Probably a side effect of long-term use in relatively high doses of olanzapine. Also constantly dry mouth. Tried to put the drug in 3 days, because I felt so bad that I took it again.

    Olanzapine for Psychosis

Olanzapine I take since a schizophrenic psychosis. In conjunction with Paroxate (tomorrow 20mg) I take 10mg of Olanzapine in the evening. As a side effect, I feel fatigue and stronger appetite. I’ve gained weight. But that settled then, so that I am now just below the upper limit of my BMA, which I find so okay. Otherwise I do not feel affected by the medication.
