    Methotrexate for Morbus crohn

I have taken methotrexate for about three years. The first year in syringe form (subcutaneously) afterwards in Tabalettenform. Dose: 20 mg once a week. The drug works very well with me. I have not had a boost in 3 years and my blood counts are great. After taking the tablets, I feel pretty bad for exactly 24 hours. Nausea, dizziness. I have never vomited, but I always feel like I have to vomit. After about 24 hours, everything is fine again. Every three weeks, I go to my family doctor and have my blood checked. Considering how bad I was before starting with Methotrexate, I have to say the drug is great. Of course every week is a complete day, but without the pills, I would feel sick almost every day.

    Side effects: Dizziness; Nausea

    Methotrexate for Chronic polyarthritis

Have the drug for several years with breaks and changes. Only as a tablet, I fell into a brief coma and was constantly sweating. After the coma was then discontinued and set a few months in lesser quantity again. I got her once a week. However, I eventually became so bad that my parents had to hide the pills because I had to vomit as soon as I saw the box. Hair also fell increasingly. So set off again. 1-2 years later I got it as a syringe. No side effects, just because she had to muscle, I had to go to a doctor every 2 weeks.

    Side effects: Hair loss; Nausea

The day after the WEEKLY intake I had stomach problems and was very tired, the concentration and vision was limited. Now I take the drug 15mg in three doses three days a week and have so far tolerated it well. Since last week, the initial symptoms occur again. The hair has become quite thin, i. Many hairs have failed. However, bald spots have not formed. I always had a lot of hair. I have not eaten anything since the last week. Well, for some time I can stand it, I’m definitely too fat.

    Methotrexate for Psoriatic arthritis

Have injected the syringe once a week in the stomach. The next day I had only bad stomach problems and was tired. Then I went over to inject the syringe Saturday evenings, so I had no stomach ache during the night and I had Sunday time to lay down if necessary and to swallow stomach tablets. Meanwhile swallowed painkillers. Methotrexate have been discontinued for 6 weeks now, now I have TMJ pain and knee pain.

    Methotrexate for Rheumatism

Side effects that I have to deal with: extremely high risk of infection, frequent relapses after the symptoms of an infection have resolved, occasional painful inflammations in the mouth, severe weight fluctuations Especially the increased tendency to infections is an extremely disturbing side effect. Although this side effect should be relatively rare and is usually not dangerous (unless you have the bad luck to get infected with something really bad), it is for the person experiencing it, however, a torment. It hinders me very often in my education, brings me missing days and makes life sometimes inedible. Imagine that you are in a vicious circle: If you do not take the medication, the knee becomes fat and you are in pain, you can barely move, the bone breaks down more and more and the danger is eventually reached in the wheelchair end (at least in my case). But if you take it the way you should, you are constantly choking. You have a guilty conscience because you are constantly lacking in the workplace and when you get sick you inflict more damage on yourself and others. Occasions, excursions, celebrations that you were looking forward to, often fall into the water, because you have a cold again. One begins to live in constant fear of the next cold and feels altogether unhealthy, unclean and unwell. Of course it does not have to be like mine, but the list of possible side effects is much longer and one of them is definitely caught. On the other hand, it worked fine with me, as it should work. Within two to three weeks, my swollen knee shrank back to normal size, the pain disappeared and I was able to walk normally again. The first time I did not notice any colds and was glad to suddenly lose a lot. In the beginning I got the methotrexate administered with injections and gladly accepted that these injections were very painful. My doctor has since reduced the dose twice because of my problems and has switched to tablets to meet me. Surprisingly, I tolerate the tablets well, but the effects are not reduced by these measures until now. You should think about treatment with methotrexate beforehand and consider whether it is really necessary and whether there are not alternatives that are less harmful to the body and the immune system. Anyone who thinks about treatment with methotrexate, I can only guess: Find out exactly, get a thorough check before and do not take this medicine lightly.

First pneumonia on the right with pelvic involvement and effusion in the lungs. Extreme pain while breathing, lying in bed hardly possible. No fever. Shoulder pain spreading sideways to the lower ribs. Late diagnosis. Then treated. As cause was assumed according to hospital: normal pneumonia. Halfway recovered, again short of breath, again pain in breathing and lying. Again pulmonologist. Diagnosis: second pneumonia, this time left. After consultation with rheumatologist MTX discontinued. Instead, Quensyl. It was 18 months ago. Since then on the way to recovery, but still not back in its old form.

    Methotrexate for Psoriasis

Because of my extreme psoriasis, I got MTX prescribed by my dermatologist for the first time 25 years ago and since then my life has become worth living again, if you are a person who is in life and has to pay attention to his Auesers, I am a master carpenter and always had contact with customers. The intake of MTX was actually always short-term ca max 4-6 week at a dose of max 15 mg per week and as needed, because the Schuebe were different zbEreschlattungen, temperature fluctuations or stress. During a holiday in Venezuela on the island of Margarita, my psoriasis disappeared in a few days in just a few days. That was one reason for me to think about my future life with or without medication, and I have been living in Venezuela for over 10 years. Unfortunately not without MTX, because even with the climate, colds are not enough and there is also the stress in the job here (have a small carpentry).
