Lisinopril is used in patients with hypertension to normalize blood pressure.

What is the purpose of this ingredient?

  • Lower blood pressure for high blood pressure
  • Relieve heart in heart failure
  • prevent pathological remodeling of the heart after heart attacks

That’s how Lisinopril works

Below you will learn more about the fields of application and the mode of action of Lisinopril.
Please also read the information on the drug classes ACE inhibitors, antihypertensive, to which the active ingredient lisinopril belongs.

Applications of the active substance Lisinopril

Lisinopril is used in patients with hypertension to normalize blood pressure.

In the early stages of heart failure, lisinopril can relieve the heart on its own. In advanced stages a combination with a beta-blocker or a diuretic (diuretic) or both is necessary. After a heart attack Lisinopril should prevent a pathological remodeling of the heart muscle (Remodeling).

For the following application areas of Lisinopril , in-depth information is available:

  • Hypertension
  • heart failure
  • infarction
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Effect of Lisinopril

Lisinopril belongs to the drug group of ACE inhibitors, but together with Captopril is a special feature. It does not have to be activated in the body, unlike the other ACE inhibitors, so it is not a prodrug, but is directly as an active form given.

Lisinopril only needs to be taken once a day as its duration of action is approximately 24 hours. However, its effect does not begin until one hour after ingestion. In addition, lisinopril is an active ingredient that is ingested only a quarter (25%) in the body. Because the drug is mainly excreted from the kidneys with urine, the dose must be reduced in patients with severe renal impairment and deficient urinary output.

Metohexal works so strong for me, that the pulse is only 45-50, which hinders in stronger movement, because the performance suffers. The motor heart is throttled. The advantage is in atrial fibrillation what I have regularly, the heart rate is not so strong, from 150-170 to 90-120 previously.

    Lisinopril for High blood pressure

After taking respiratory problems (irritating cough + heavy breathing) while jogging and cycling. For mild colds, I immediately got asthma-like coughing fits, until complete closure of the bronchi! Family doctor comforted … that gives itself after prolonged ingestion. However, going to the pulmonary specialist confirmed this. Now I changed family doctor and medication. With Blogress32 no side effects.

Before taking Tambocor, I was very athletic and fit. If I had not fallen over during atrial fibrillation because of heart failure, I would never take such a drug with effects on the liver. Even with little exercise, I get anxiety, tightness and shortness of breath. The Verapamil I just sneak out because the leaflet by Tambocor before taking both drugs is warned (but I was prescribed in the hospital so). I’m very unhappy because of my current situation. By now I have lost almost 5 kg of weight.

    Side effects: Difficulty in breathing

    Lisinopril for High blood pressure

After 6 years of taking beta-blockers (Beloc Zok later Nobivonol) I was switched to an ACE inhibitor (lisinopril) by the cardiologist. Now take them for 12 days and have more heartbeats up to 118 strokes during the day. I can now only suspect that these are side effects of lisinopril, or withdrawal symptoms of the beta blockers. This I will clarify the day after tomorrow with my hausartz.

    Side effects: Palpitations

Both drugs trigger tinnitus and muscle aches. This is known but not listed in the side effects. I even have that in writing. Because of tinnitus, I would never have taken these medications. What can I do about it?

    Lisinopril for High blood pressure

I had problems with blood pressure fluctuations, then I was prescribed lisinopril; The onset was quite fast (within about 1 week), but the side effects are sometimes ‘annoying’: = irritable cough – more often = increased sweating – usually at lower loads (physical & mental!) = erectile dysfunction – ‘when needed’. .. 😉

Side effects: Erectile dysfunction; Sweat; Cough

Also I had various side effects, weight gain, dizziness, fatigue, increased sweating. And actually, I always had a bad feeling about taking the tablet. The side effects were – in retrospect – felt within limits. Only the permanent damage when taking the tablet – with me in the episode Diabetes II – are terrible. – Meanwhile, however, I have found a way to get off the tablets altogether with a normal blood pressure and without diabetes II. The tablets have helped me to keep the increased blood pressure in check, and I do not want to demonize the medication. Who knows if I would still be there without her? I think it’s a pity that I got to know this absolutely simple therapy so late and that she healed me. I would be happy if others can become so healthy and healthy.
