Application of the active substance fluoxetine

For the following uses of Fluoxetine , in-depth information is available:

  • depression

Effect of Fluoxetine

Fluoxetine belongs to the group of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. The active ingredient, like all other active substances in this group, also leads to a better mood in the brain due to an improved supply of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain. This explains the use of the drug in depression.

When given in tablet form, fluoxetine is reached after four to eight hours. Excretion is 60 percent through the kidneys. The antidepressant effect usually starts after two to four weeks of regular use of Fluoxetine.

The active substance and its likewise effective degradation products remain active in the body for a relatively long time. This is an advantage when taking an irregular dose, but it also makes it difficult to switch to another medication. The half-life, the time after which half of the originally present substance has been eliminated from the body, is one to two weeks for the effective degradation products of the active ingredient.

    Fluoxetine for Aggressiveness; Depression

I have intense dreams, every day … besides strong hair loss and hardly any desire for sex; I used to have multiple orgasms, now it’s very hard to get one at all … otherwise it often makes me tired and I do not think so much anymore. It has become easier

    Fluoxetine for Aggressiveness; Depression

On my third try, I finally managed to stay tuned and not stop because of the side effect. Side effects: heavy sweating, nervousness, insomnia, chattering like a waterfall (I’m usually always silent). I took fluoxetine in the morning (took the smallest doses because they work for me and reduce the side effects). In addition, after a few weeks, I got Trazodone for evening consumption. I was skeptical at first – 2 anti-depressants at once ?! And from then on no side effects anymore. No more sweaty and finally, after many years, I could sleep like a baby. During the day I am in a good mood. However, I still can not really feel positive feelings. But good mood is already enough for me 🙂 I’m sociable, feel no extreme hatred, am no longer aggressive and fall in heavy fatalities not so deep. By the next day at the latest I feel completely okay again. I look to the future again, I have plans for the future, I do not want to kill myself anymore. P.S. I am very overweight and do not take the tablets. And my tip to all have the strong side effect: many doctors pop in a same high doses. I only started with 5 mg and take only 15 – 20 mg a day after weeks and that helps! At higher dose, the side effects were unbearable and therefore I had previously stopped taking it several times.

    Fluoxetine for Migraine; Depression

I am taking sarongs for 6 months (25 mg / day) for chronic migraine with tension-type headache, initially in the form of drops in the evening. But that led to extreme tiredness right at the beginning. Meanwhile, I take it in tablet form (retard), so that the fatigue spreads more evenly throughout the day. The headache severity was actually much less in the first two months and the frequency of seizures too. Meanwhile, this effect is no longer there, but only the side effects. The tiredness has settled to a bearable level. Unfortunately, I have gained significantly more weight since taking Saroten (about 6 kg in 6 months), because the appetite has increased. Maybe this is also in addition to the fluoxetine tablets, which I have been taking for about 8 years because of depression (40 mg / day) and the initial weight loss now cause the opposite (weight gain about 30 kg in 8 years).

    Fluoxetine for Fatigue

I’ve been taking fluoxtine (20mg) for 5 weeks and have not had any positive effects so far. From side effects such as fatigue, loss of appetite, etc., I can also report. The worst side effect, however, is that I move since the dosage of 10 to 20mg only absent through life. I perceive everything very belatedly and feel like an observer who lets the world go by without comment. And this feature does not usually suit me. I also tried fluoxetine with alcohol. I did not feel that I tolerated less. However, I could only very vaguely remember the entire evening.

Fluoxetine for Fatigue; Drive disorders; Depression

Modafinil After a benign brain tumor, I always felt a strong subliminal fatigue, which more than severely restricted my everyday life. After some research on the internet, I came across Modafinil and suggested this to my treating physicians. It does what it should, real side effects I could not determine for me, the dosage level is left to me. -100mg: Since I did not notice much (in connection with Venlafaxin), according to reports from the www but ‘normal’ people have to walk up the wall already … In connection with Flouxetin it looks different. Here are enough for me at the beginning 100mg (Here are the descriptions in connection with Venlafaxin) -200mg: I was awake, the whole day (according sleep provided), I had no significant hole more. -300mg: Since I was quite agile, slightly to medium above the normal addition. To my Venlafix-taking phase, I always took Venlafaxin and 200mg to collect, as needed (daily performance), I then took again later 100mg Modafinil. I never wanted to dare a higher dose. At some point is good, and the body will certainly have its reason after 300mg, if he signals me I do not want more. I never wanted to use it as a performance-enhancing tool, but only to lead a normal life. What includes corresponding performance limits and breaks or recovery times. I am satisfied with the preparation and more than happy to have come across this!

At the moment I can not say very much about the drug fluoxetine because I have been taking it for 2 weeks only for 2 days now every day every day I get sweating hands that is definitely a side effect of the tablet.

Fluoxetine for Thyroid function under; Depression

I’ve been taking fluoxetine for several years now, and attempts at weaning have quickly given way to renewed depression. I fluoxetine very strong terms of the following side effects suspected that other anti-depressants (sertraline and Cymbalta) are also specified as such, but not for my medication \ \ Fluoxelich: – permantes thirst and greatly increased water demand. I drink three to four liters of water a day and the blood levels still indicate a very low water content of the body. Dry mouth is still the slightest problem. -before 2.5 years was observed hypothyroidism and Hashimoto with me ever since, however I take 50 ng Euthyrox daily .. Well just an underactive was found again, so I’ll have to increase the dose. I have a strong feeling that the thyroid gland is not working properly because of the permanent intake of fluoxetine, but I feel like I’m in a vicious circle because I can not do without it. – Hypothyroidism can be a major reason not to get pregnant, which unfortunately has been an issue for me for 2.5 years. – Meanwhile, I have quite often a strong \ Everything I do not care mood \, which is better than a depression, but the beautiful feelings I used to have out of the depression, I unfortunately can not even feel. Fluoxetine for Overweight; Sleep disorders; Obsessive compulsive disorder; Depression

I have been suffering from severe anxiety disorders for 9 years. After Zoloft got Cipralex over 2 years. No side effects. Good tolerated. My fears and panic attacks were barely there. Then last year I stopped the Cipralex without a doctor because I thought I was tough enough and fit again. Had 2 weeks to run on cotton wool. Dizziness … After 5 months, I then realized how that with the fears and Depression and compulsion started again and my general practitioner gave me fluoxetine (because I’m very overweight) and the drug would help reduce it. 14 days I went through hell with the side effects. The complete leaflet was in my body represented. The worst for me was the feeling as if I have drunk China oil. A chill after another. Panic … heart rate … Nausea. Also good weight loss. But since I had read here that one should persevere … I was brave. After 14 days I collapsed with my doctor with severe panic attacks and she has sent me to the hospital …. 5 weeks I was there stationary and was again adjusted to Cipralex … in the beginning 10 mg … then 15 mg … now 20 mg. In the evening to sleep in and out I take Valdoxan 25 mg and Dipiperon 20 mg. What can I tell you ? I feel like newborn The fear therapy in the clinic was awesome. Have learned more than in the last 9 years and will do a behavioral therapy. For the last few years, they have only been doing depth psychology with me … completely wrong. But how should one know that as a layman? I got no side effects from the Cipralex … I’m now in control of the fears … can fool around and laugh again. Shopping … shopping alone … sleeping alone at home … driving … is awesome I tell you! With the weight …. because I have an eating disorder (binge eating), I can not say so.In the clinic I lost 8 kilos despite Cipralex. Here at home I eat different again and also more … there is a kilo up. But in my opinion has nothing to do with the medi * Incidentally, I was told in the clinic that I can get rid of this disease COMPLETELY and WHOLE, when I work on myself and do my anxiety exercises. It’s really hard to bear, but I’ll do it to finally get quality of life again * Hold on – we can do it * grin *

    Fluoxetine for Dizziness; Depression

It started with a dizzy spell that took me straight to the hospital and started an odyssey from hospital to hospital. I then came to the Neurological Outpatient Department of the Charite and was subsequently hired with the above-mentioned drugs. I take 12 mg of beta and 40 mg of fluoxetine daily. I feel very well, rarely have seizures, but I have to say that I did a behavioral therapy for two years. I can live fully again and am very well-adjusted, able to get along well with my illness. Do not give up even with Meniere’s disease, you can participate in lifeSide effects: I have a headache (but not dramatically) every now and then and I have gained weight, which is not really insignificant! But otherwise I am really well, they wanted to send me on incapacity pension I have defied my illness and have even made an education and go back to work!

Fluoxetine for Migraine; Pain (chronic); Depression

I switched from venlafaxine to fluoxetine 3 months ago. For 6 weeks, the drug conversion is over. Since I’m finally lucky and no longer sweat like crazy, what came from the Venlafaxin, especially at night gossip wet every night, and then I have the problem I suddenly get all shitty skin. What I do not know, because even in my puberty I had hardly any pimples. Apparently the pores were so well-cleaned by sweating the last four years, so flawless skin. But I have also had abdominal pain and headaches very frequently ever since and have been struggling with diarrhea since the time of change. First thought, my irritable bowel is simply active again, but daily for weeks, where I usually have alternating constipation and diarrhea. Do I have to clarify maybe more closely. Hair loss since the conversion also very extreme. I have less appetite since fluoxetine, yet unfortunately not decreased, so rather would slow down the metabolism. But not too. Since there are completely different antidepressants, I’m still satisfied. I am tired at the moment … but can also have other reasons. And so I have through the combination of my Medis – Abtiepileptika, antidepressants, which also make everyone tired, anyway, always with problems.

    Fluoxetine for Post-traumatic stress disorder

*** General *** Fluoxetine is an antidepressant (SSRI). However, it is also used in diseases other than depression. For example, in case of obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia or posttraumatic stress disorder. If you take Fluoxetine, you should not take St. John’s Wort at the same time as it can cause bad interactions. Pregnant women should not take fluoxetine because it can be dangerous for the child. *** Personal Experiences *** I get along well with this medication. The most important thing for me is that it helps against the symptoms of my PTSD (depression, anxiety, flashbacks). For that I also like to accept certain side effects. The side effects are with me trembling hands, weight loss (but I can live well with that) and increased sweating especially at night. As I said, this drug is effective and well tolerated.

Side effects: Loss in weight; Tremble; Sweat
