    Erythromycin for Whooping cough

I should take Erythromycin 500 for suspected whooping cough. The first tablet was not a problem at all, it only pinched something in the stomach. From the second tablet, hell began. My face swelled up, I got nettle-like wheals all over my body and no more air. Back at my doctor, he said only I would worry too much and prescribed myself a calming tea. Unknowing as I was, I took the third tablet and found myself a little later in the hospital. Diagnosis: Anaphylactic shock, which led to the immediate discontinuation of the drug. A few months later, under medical supervision, a provocation test was made and the suspected allergy confirmed. Since then, I have not been allowed to take macrolide antibiotics and have never again reacted so violently to antibiotics.

    Side effects: Allergic reaction

    Erythromycin for Whooping cough

The first tablets were still … Then the stomach ache started. At first I thought I was just starving or maybe not eating enough, but it always got worse, so after 5 pills (I should take 4 a day) the ambulance had to pick me up. I could hardly breathe in pain, had diarrhea and vomited glassy mucus. In the hospital, many examinations were performed and the doctor told me that this was so common with erythromycin and that the pain comes from the fact that the stomach is squeezing hard to squeeze everything out as quickly as possible. Therefore, the nausea … In my opinion, this drug is anything but recommended !!!
