The active substance is used in specific diseases in which inflammatory reactions play a role. So with inflammatory rheumatic diseases such as rheumatic arthritis (RA) in adults and adolescents, the progressive curvature of the spine (ankylosing spondylitis) and psoriasis (psoriasis) when it attacks the joints and causes severe skin complaints.
In moderate to severe joint rheumatism of adults etanercept (another anti-inflammatory drug), can be used in combination with methotrexate are used when other means have (including methotrexate) is insufficiently worked.
