Application of the active substance Bisacodyl

Bisacodyl is used to treat constipation as well as diseases that require easier evacuation, such as hemorrhoids. It softens the stool and promotes bowel movement.

Bisacodyl can also be used to defecate as part of preparation for bowel surgery or examination.

For the following applications Bisacodyl , in-depth information is available:

  • Constipation

Mode of action of bisacodyl

Bisacodyl is an active substance that only works after a transformation in the body. It is converted to the liver by the liver after ingestion and excreted in the intestine. There intestinal bacteria split the active ingredient into the actually effective diphenol. Diphenol, for its part, increases intestinal activity and draws water into the intestine, which softens, loosens and makes it easier to excrete the stool.

Furthermore, bisacodyl stimulates the intestinal wall musculature. Intestinal movements are thereby promoted, the chair is transported faster towards the rectum and thus the bowel movement is initiated.

Bisacodyl can be taken as well as used as a suppository. When taken on an empty stomach in the morning, the effect occurs after about six hours, in the evening after five to ten hours. When used as a suppository, the defecation begins after 15 to 60 minutes.

After about 10 minutes after taking it, there were nausea, nausea and very strong stomach cramps and cold sweating. I thought now it’s with me. These side effects have lasted for at least 14 hours. It is better only after about 18 hours. I can not make a recommendation for this medicine. Stay away from this medication.

Mir (64) and a fellow patient (75) were given DULCOLAX 2 days after a severe surgery in the hospital for opstipation (dosage unknown). I had to vomit violently after 4 hours, had 14 hours of strong collisions with swelling abdomen, cold sweat, was partially unresponsive. I could not go to the bathroom !!! The co-patient initially lost consciousness, also suffered several hours of severe nausea and abdominal pain, but had bowel movements. Apart from the fact that such a remedy should not be given to freshly-operated people, it should be taken off the market.

    Dulcolax for Constipation

I suffered from constipation for days and took 2 Dulcolax in the evening according to regulations. The next morning I had severe stomach cramps, later intestinal cramps, I was very tired, I was trembling, strong sweats. Sat forever in the toilet, or hung because I had such strong cramps. I was even on the verge of fainting. I massaged BAuch and moved to stimulate bowel movement. Later everything was like diarrhea. After emptying it was getting better. Nevertheless, I would not recommend it. Although it works, but the side effects are hard to bear, although I am not sensitive to pain normally.

    Dulcolax for Constipation

Dulcolax is a true laxative that should not be used longer but only exceptionally. Not intended for regular use at all. But – not really. Because: it does not seem reliable: sometimes, but actually: only rarely! – not at all – or accompanied with violent convulsions. I can not recommend Dulcolax either as a suppository or as a drop. In both cases accompanied with violent cramps. There are better remedies (for example Laxoberal). Quite, very bad – can only advise against! Better if you have digestive problems: Mucofalk – and regularly take and exercise. After 1/4 year of regular intake it works – I can only recommend it; I’m so after two Dam-OP on a 3rd so geschegammt …. It’s just great.

The WORSTEST EVER! Had it according to the instructions in the evening and at 4:00 in the morning I had to run to the toilet – there I sat with convulsions and cold sweats two hours! After that, my circulatory flutes …. my electrolyte balance was probably completely confused .. I then told my mother (her job is a nurse) and also said that Dulcolax is one of the most aggressive laxatives. Advertising with: gentle and predictable is a joke! Have rarely seen such a lousy drug!!

    Dulcolax for Constipation

Could not 7 days … Have taken around 11 pm a dulcolax, at 6 o’clock the next morning it started, I was awakened by stomach ache, you could literally feel how the tablet cleared the intestines piece by piece. I went to the bathroom, it took about 30 minutes until something came, then I had to go to the toilet occasionally until 11.00 o’clock and everything was fine again. I think it’s a good thing, initial pain back and forth, the intestine was then completely emptied and you feel free again. It is not worse than the constipation itself!

    Dulcolax for Constipation

Have taken the 1 tablet: hours of watery diarrhea, Bauchgrummeln, nausea, circulatory problems. Now at noon after taking the diarrhea is a little better, but could not go to the toilet normally. Still have problems with nausea and my circulation and the stomach grumbles. Stay away from the stuff, there was really the constipation more pleasant than that now.

I can only join all the previous speakers here. Freely plannable and COMPATIBLE ….. I have to the first and! last time taken a laxative. In the evening taken as suggested, after 6 hours sweats, severe intestinal cramps, dizziness, massive nausea and for hours watery diarrhea, against which not even loperamide helps. An insanity to sell this devil’s stuff without prescription – where is the supervision of the pharmaceutical industry?

I took the dragees around 10:00 pm At 2:00 am I woke up with stomach cramps. I got itching all over my body, had heartburn and my ears became hot and red. Overall, I felt very uncomfortable. When I went to the bathroom, I immediately got diarrhea and continued stomach ache. After about 20 min. I was done and went back to bed. The symptoms faded slowly, but I was very cold and I shivered all over (maybe I had a fever). Now I just feel weak and restless!

    Dulcolax for Constipation

I will never take Dulcolyx again. After taking (1 tablet), everything went wonderfully well, until after about 7 hours I got worse and worse intestinal cramps. It only started as a slight discomfort and then increased so much that I thought, if it continues like this I rude the ambulance. Only after about 8.5 hours I was able to empty myself for the first time. It was followed by two more courses every hour, each accompanied by convulsions. The chair eventually liquefied completely. The cramps then decreased, but after about 18 hours I still had slight problems.

I took Dulcolax 2days because of emptying difficulties / constipation. Have taken a dragee against lunchtime udn could not even an hour then properly on the toilet. It was not diarrhea, it was easy and good. Side effects I have so far only dizziness (which may also come from the opipramol) and a sense of feeling in the stomach (no pain). I can only recommend this medi for short-term use of course.

    Dulcolax for Constipation

Reason for treatment: no bowel movement for several days Application: as described in the evening 2 dragees Effect: After exactly 6 hours I woke up at night with very tedious abdominal cramps, so strong I really never had. I then dragged myself into the bathroom in the hope that now everything takes its course. But nothing, just hot air. Back to bed. 2 hours later then, 8 hours after taking it, woke up again, through extreme abdominal cramps, nausea, sweating, dizziness. Once again dragged into the bathroom, suddenly I had to vomit, wrong direction I thought only me. Well, after the nausea, sweating and dizziness again reasonably under control were back to bed. Another hour later, 9 hours after taking it, again awakened by abdominal cramps and nausea, back to the bathroom and then endless diarrhea. After that, I’m clearly better off, but in the next few days you should not eat anything that causes nausea and diarrhea. I will do without Dulcolax in the future!

    Dulcolax for Constipation

Despite many drinking (water) and ballstreicher food unfortunately for weeks – again – under constipation. So I looked for a remedy and came across Dulcolax suppositories, which after max. 30 minutes to the desired result. Do you also have. BUT: About 15 minutes after the application I became so bad and dizzy, I felt nausea and became very pale with cold sweat, I had to lie down, I was afraid, to faint. Even thought to call the rescue service, because I tapped on heart attack. People, keep away from it! Even this morning I am still feeling a bit bad.

    Dulcolax for Bowel dysfunction

My experience with Dulcolax was not the best. In the evening I took 2 Drgs., At night, stomach ache and cramps set in, the bowel movement was rather unformed, during the day I felt bad as after an intestinal infection and I was constantly cold and circulatory, I was already better. I think there are gentler measures to get the guts going, I can only advise against Dulcolax, the effect is not what it comes across, for example, in TV advertising. At least I think Dulculax is not an alternative to controlled bowel movement.
