In any case, the drug is only given when a diet and other non-medical measures such as exercise and weight loss are not enough.

What is the purpose of this ingredient?

  • Improve fat metabolism

Application of the active substance rosuvastatin

The active substance is intended for the treatment of adults, adolescents and children from the age of ten years with lipid metabolism disorders. It is effective for blood cholesterol excess with no apparent physical cause (primary type IIa hypercholesterolaemia, including parent-inherited form) or excess of various blood lipids (mixed type IIb dyslipidemia). In any case, the drug is only given when a diet and other non-medical measures such as exercise and weight loss are not enough.

Rosuvastatin is also used for excess cholesterol inherited from both the father and the mother. The use is in addition to a diet and other measures such as blood washing (LDL apheresis) or alone, if such measures are not suitable.

The administration of the active substance can prevent cardiovascular damage (heart attack, stroke) if there is a high risk and if other risk factors are alleviated or eliminated.

For the following applications Rosuvastatin , in-depth information is available:

  • dyslipidemia

Mode of action of rosuvastatin

Rosuvastatin belongs to the drug group of statins. Like all members of this group, rosuvastatin selectively inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. HMG-CoA reductase is significantly involved in the body’s production of a precursor of cholesterol.

The main site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver. Rosuvastatin increases in their cells the number of binding sites (receptors) for the harmful LDL blood lipid. This will speed up the uptake and degradation of LDL and hamper the production of the even more dangerous lipid form VLDL in the liver.

Overall, there is a significantly lower formation of blood lipid types LDL and VLDL, which are mainly responsible for the blockage of blood vessels. In return, there is a preponderance of beneficial HDL blood lipids that can even remove fatty deposits from the vessels.

An initial effect occurs within one week of the initiation of therapy and reaches 90 percent of the maximum in two weeks. After four weeks, the highest possible effect has been achieved and will remain after that.

    Crestor for Cholesterol value increase

Several weeks after ingestion, higher renal values (creatinine 1.52 to 1.9 and uric acid 6.9 to 8.5 were found.) After stopping and returning to my previous cholesterol-lowering remission to old levels.

    Crestor for Cholesterol value increase

Crestor lowers LDL while increasing HDL. After 1 month of blood testing with better cholesterol levels, 43 mg / dl tendency rising. Before I took Simvastatin, which not only lowered the LDL value but also the HDL value, well below the so-called normal value range for high-risk patients after a heart attack. After taking nicotinic acid, the value increased by 5 points, but unfortunately it was still well below 40mg / dl. I was allowed to experience side effects in the form of hot flashes, i. I ran around in a T-shirt, others in a turtleneck, sweating heavily at night, drenched in the morning accordingly everything. But after 3 weeks, my body got used to it. Thus, Crestor replaces my previous cholesterol tablets in full positive.

    Crestor for Pain (acute)

Since the intake (2 weeks) I suffer from muscle, joint and finger pain, as well as diarrhea. All these complaints were not available before taking 1 x 10mg CRESTOR daily. I suffer from a spinal stenosis in the back and my doctor is of the opinion that the above-mentioned side effects are based on it and unfortunately I am not listening. I will stop CRESTOR immediately and look for another doctor. Stay away from CRESTOR !!!

    Crestor for High blood pressure

After 30 days of taking the new medication Crestor 10 mg I feel infinitely ill. Forcing me to get up in the morning, I have constantly subliminal to severe headaches. Also had an unexplained reason in the afternoon – in the middle of my office work on the computer – pain, from the head to the legs. Just got a new recipe for 100 pieces, but I will not pick it up. For the reasons just mentioned. Take the fluvastatin again. In spite of my metabolic illness, I still want a little bit more quality of life. And do not run around in the early morning, as if I had a night to drink through behind me.

My cholesterol levels were normal, but the cardiologist told me to add a statin to further reduce LDL to prevent further occlusion of the carotid artery. According to the motto: What is not in the blood, can not settle. First, we tried simvastatin, which resulted in muscle pain in a short time. Then I was prescribed Crestor, which initially also showed slight muscle pain, but soon disappeared almost completely. Well, after about 10 months, I sometimes have calf cramps at night, but they could also come from somewhere else. To reduce the risk, I tried to lower the Crestor dose to 5 mg right from the start. I divided the 10 mg pill in the middle with the kitchen knife, doing each time the remaining half back into the pack to keep track. After 14 days I had the values measured and found my idea confirmed: The LDL values were also great with 5mg. This method has the great advantage of halving the now enormously increased co-payments and simultaneously burdens the body with much less chemistry. The manufacturers are probably not so happy to read this method … Below, I have ticked, the side effect lasts, but only because the choices are too small. There would still have to be a way to assess the severity of the side effects. I would tick it off easily.

    Crestor for Cholesterol value increase

I was prescribed Crestor 20 2008 in Canada by my family doctor. my cholesterol value was for years slightly above the norm, deposition in abdominal veins could not be detected with ultrasound yet. The initial examination in Canada of an increase in the value (probably an indicator of muscle breakdown / heart attack) was slightly positive but harmless and disappeared quickly. again in Germany, the dose was reduced to 10 mg as a result of the good examination results. the result of the cholesterol analysis shows that crestor is a very effective drug. Regarding the side effects I have to say that they strengthened with me and therefore I decided with my doctor crestor temporal to settle to explore the causal relationship. 1. Muscle pain and massive muscle tension in the neck, shoulder area, lumbar area after jogging in the thighs and calves 2. Occasional nocturnal calf cramps (also without sport) which I did not know even after 10km of running, which is why I suspect a connection here too 3. Increase of one tinnitus, which may be hereditary, but I will monitor the reports here as well. 4. to comment on the other reports, I have not found any influence on my conclusion, if you tolerate crestor well it is a very good cholesterol-lowering drug, for which I would also tolerate slight muscle pain (which I have done for me too). the negative effects amplify with me but so far that my children tell me I’m out of bed like a 70-year-old (no offense – I know that many 70year olds can fool me – but it shows the observation of my teens) and that I have to do something there. and for me, too, the negative impact of my running results, especially in mountain care where the muscles hibernate quickly are no longer acceptable i will make an update if i notice any changes after weaning, good luck, that they can tolerate crestor.

    Crestor for Cholesterol value increase

The blood levels gave a lower cholesterol level. Before that, I took Sortis first 10 mg, then 20 mg, later Simvastatin only 20 mg then 40 mg. The ratio HDL to LDL has been consistent with me for 12 years and is between 2.2 and 2.5. Now the doctor does not prescribe me a blood lipid; It would not be necessary for me, because the health insurance would not accept the glaze with me! So I do not take anything for 3 weeks. For 12 years I have been allergic to many things. The tongue always had a thick white coating. The skin itched without end, so I scratched it bloody. I became more and more tense, could not sleep at night-asleep during the day again and again. Without sleeping pills, nothing worked. I had permanent stomach pains to the point of being sick with vomiting. Also, intestinal cramps and diarrhea. Tinnitus rounded off the whole thing. After 3 weeks without blood lipids, all symptoms are gone as described above. The tinnitus sounds are less every day. My doctor and I never associated the many diseases with cholesterol.

Side effects! severe joint pain and sometimes muscle pain The high cholesterol levels were very fast with Crestor 10 on ideals, great. In addition, I take one each day: Aciclovir AL 800 (herpesvirus) Olmetec Plus 40 – (high blood pressure) Carmen 20 (high blood pressure) Only after about 2 to 3 months of daily use of Crestor 10 I felt increasingly joint pain. At first, I suppressed this pain, or brought it back to my usual, minor physical work. In the meantime I can barely walk straight in the early morning, immediately after getting up, or I can not stand and walk without pain. But not only in the morning, but now throughout the day I suffer from this pain. Especially the right knee, the right foot and mostly right middle and ring finger joints are getting more and more painful, which leads me back to taking Crestor 10. I can not roll off my right foot at times, so I’m plodding around. As of today, I will cancel Crestor, let’s see what happens. Who has had similar experiences? What is alternative? What could be done about these huge side effects? THE LUGGAGE FREAK

    Crestor for Cholesterol value increase

Hello everybody, today I woke up from the strong muscle and joint pain in my legs. I had the pain occasionally, but so far I have not been able to find any reason for it. I’ve noticed that the pain and cramps have increased since I eat Crestor 10 mg a day. Especially bad is when I sat all day. Tonight the whole has been accompanied by the racing heart rate and increase in my blood pressure, although I regularly take Ramipril against it. Nausea in the early morning, headache & amp; Co. are permanently there. I just hope that Crestor actually helps in the long run, because that was described by my doctor as a miracle cure.
