I now take the ninth day citalopram … on the 4th day of the intake I had such a severe persistent stomach pain in the evening that I went to the emergency room. got there a painkiller and gastric acid blocker, all other blood values and ecg were completely in order. For 3 days I have violent side effects such as burning over the back to the back of the head, dizziness with pressure in the head, heart racing, sweats, restlessness. I have the feeling of being beside me and tired all day, but I can totally fall asleep to sleep. Do not fall asleep before 3am and get up at seven. I do not know if I should continue or rather stop, because it was not as bad as it was before. I am afraid that it gets worse with the side effects. call again with my doctor to report … maybe someone else knows an advice?

    Citalopram for Anxiety disorders; Depression

Hello, since I am suffering from an anxiety disorder (agoraphobia) since my youth (in my opinion, even a generalized disorder), which (all probably the older owed) now led to depression and obsessive thoughts, I was from the doctor about 2 years ago Citalopram 20 mg prescribed. The first weeks were really tough and the side effects gave everything. After getting used to it, I felt much better and at the same time I could start psychotherapy. For very severe side effects, I took a small dose of Tavor. This helped. Over time, it has been found that despite the medication, I have recurring relapses (with and without reason). Therefore, the dose was increased to 30. I took this dose for 1 year, which was not successful. The thrusts are still there. Since I am of the opinion that the Citalopram almost does not work anymore, I have started in consultation with the therapist and doctor, citalopram slowly discontinued. I am back to 20 mg. As a withdrawal I see my current mental (anxiety, no motivation) and physical problems (stomach, sweat …). Whether I then get a new drug and try out I do not know yet. Currently I am trying the alternative hypnosis. I have already achieved success in agoraphobia. In addition, my dose of L-thyroxine (due to Hashimoto) was increased. I also hope for an improvement from this.

    Citalopram for Depression

Because of chronic hepatitis C, which existed for about 12 years, I took peginterferon and Rebetol for 6 months. The side effects were numerous and very very debilitating. However, I would like to emphasize first that the Rosskur was successful, and my quality of life has increased significantly compared to before therapy !!! The side effects started harmless, with fever, fatigue, itching, constant urination, Hautiritationen, herpes, nightmares, then began after about 2 months sleep, stomach pain, anemia, weakness, shortness of breath, diffuse discomfort, mood lability, severe hair loss, and eventually increased in a moderate depression with very strong inner restlessness, anxiety, Heulattaken, aggressiveness, and complete powerlessness. Since I was a heroin addict 12 years ago, and my thoughts were getting blacker, to relapse thoughts and destructive fantasies, I wrestled with citalopram. Here came NW as strong tiredness, fatigue, flatulence, sensory disturbances in the feet, indifferent emotional state added. After discontinuation, which occurred gradually (by citalopram), marked withdrawal problems such as insomnia through restless legs and sweating. The restless legs stayed about 2 months with slow weakness. Then, thank God, it was over. The side effects of peginterferon and ribavirin go away relatively quickly. May recommend all medications conditionally. For me it was good in the end, for some others because of the severity of the depression sometimes fatal. Good is definitely a greater distance to the addiction past and a reasonably stable social network that I did not have. But in any case, a doctor who takes the time to listen to the NW and as with me, in psych. NW sensitive but reacts quickly.

Citalopram for Post-traumatic stress disorder; Depression

Citalopram was the first antidepressant prescribed with 10mg, later increased to 20mg. The antidepressive effect was completely absent, but I had in the first 3 weeks terrible circulatory problems, restlessness and anxiety and anxiety, which I never had before. It is probably a drug to which many responses and that is usually tolerated quite well, so I recommend anyway to try it further. I also have to say that mirtazapine was taken in at the same time, which of course could also be involved in the initial side effects.

Citalopram: Although taking this drug often caused sleepless nights (extreme reality-related nightmares), my condition improved noticeably. Although I was often irritable, but also happy and relaxed. Side effects: – strong mood swings – at night nightmares and panic attacks Mirtazapine: The use of this drug brought 11 days of ever-increasing drive and listlessness, as well as a persistent urge to suicide and self-injury. Side effects: – persistent fatigue – nausea / bloating – extreme worsening of the condition – aggressiveness / anger Laif900: This drug is herbal and I tolerate it very well as it has no side effects. Anyway, I could not find any. Opipramol: This drug is intended for the night. Every half an hour before going to bed, I have to take 50mg of Opipramol. I realize that I am not convinced by this drug because I can not sleep well or sleep well. Side effects: – agitation – nausea Lorazepam: I should take this drug in case of internal restlessness. Half an hour after taking it, I am completely calm and relaxed. I could not find any side effects yet.

I have been prescribed Citalopram because of a severe depression and anxiety from the psychiatrist. I have slowly increased the drug in the dosage. 1st to 3rd day: 5mg 4th to 7th day: 10mg 8th to 14th day: 15mg From the 7th day the horror trip started. I got a lot of drive and only trembled and had tremendous unrest. In addition, there were panic attacks that I did not have before taking medications. I was not able to do anything. I could only sleep for 2 hours and startled out of my sleep. There were also strong thoughts of suicide, which I did not have before. Minor complaints were nausea and loose bowel movements as well as frequent urination. Due to the strong thoughts of suicide, I have the drug from the 14th Day slowed out again. For me it was the horror trip of my life!

    Citalopram for Obsessive compulsive disorder

I got Citalopram prescribed a few years ago, but I did not tolerate it at the first attempt. Although it had the desired effect, my panic attacks and obsessions were rare, but the side effects were too strong for me. So I set her on the advice of a doctor. After a few more failures regarding antidepressants, my mental health problems became more and more extreme and I decided to prescribe citalopram again. At the beginning I started with the lowest dose, an improvement of my problem was felt within a few days. There were hardly any side effects this time either. We then increased the dose to 40mg, which makes me very clear. Panic attacks I have only very rarely, compulsive thoughts hardly. Most of the time, they appear when I forgot to take the citalopram for more than 3.4 days. Meanwhile, however, some side effects have become noticeable that I did not notice before. On the one hand, I have become totally restless, can barely sit still, wiggle his legs. For a while I also had twitching all over my body when I wanted to sleep – but went away after 6 months. Migraines also appear from time to time for 1-3 days, but now only relatively rare. The most annoying thing, however, are my speech problems, which I never had before. I stumble, forgetting a word in the middle of talking, or can not pronounce it, having to repeat myself so that others understand what I really wanted to say. Since then, I speak much less, because it just annoying animal and is just blamable. Due to the many grating, I also start to lisp after some time, which is also very annoying. I’ll probably go to a speech therapist and hope that I get the problem under control. On the whole, however, I am very satisfied with the citalopram, it helped me a lot. Since then I have been able to go out of the house, meet with friends, make larger trips on my own, etc. Before that, I was massively restricted. I also think that just because you have not tolerated an antidepressant once you should not completely delete it from the list, but rather try it again later.

    Citalopram for Sleep disorders; Depression

For about 1.5 years, take 15 mg mirtazapine every evening. As for me bad side effects are loss of reality, bad nightmares, severe fatigue and lack of concentration occurred. After info to my therapist this changed from one to the morning the drug. Should simply omit mirtazapine and take a small dose of amitriptyline instead. After taking a restless, sleeplessness, panic attacks occurred. Was the whole night awake and I am thrilled by the apartment Had also tachycardia. Even the next day was still very hippleig and turned up.wie as if I would have thrown in any drugs. On work I was funny white and fit. Was during the afternoon then a little quieter. still could not sleep. My body was tired but my head was wide awake. I wanted to sleep but could not. Then managed to sleep for half an hour. But when I woke it was hell. Had full panic attacks, mood swings and suicidal thoughts. I’m totally crazy. I was just crying and could not stop. In my head were only bad bad thoughts. I could not think clearly anymore and was a completely different person. My mood swings changed from mourning to anger every minute. In my anger I ended up scratching my arms. I had such aggression against myself and against others that I would have been capable of anything. Was about to commit suicide. I was at this point in time. For me, my life had no more perspective. The drama continued until the next morning. After I had burned away mentally and physically from the crying and the thoughts so, I just sat on the floor apathetically and did not respond to speech. I was literally in shock. Could not sleep in spite of the exhaustion A well-known then was informed then I drove to the hospital where I got injected with a drug to calm down.

Perazin and Dominal cause for some months an unpleasant tingling and cramping in the arms and legs. Otherwise, however, good, less hallucinations and panic, usually calms down after just one hour. Sleep is not sufficient. Citalopram makes me nervous, I felt like I was on speed, was unbearable after a short while, depression got worse. Zopiclone good in the beginning, ineffective after 2 weeks. The discontinuation of Perazin and Dominal triggered a brief psychotic phase (when I took the perazine back I was fine). Combination of perazine and zopiclone so far almost ineffective, but tolerable

    Citalopram for Depression

Am 56 years old and suffering from a malignant melanoma of depressive moods and anxiety disorders. First, I took 10 mg of citalopram in the morning. Side effects such as dry mouth, tiredness and word finding disorders are, except for dry mouth, not resolved after four months. Added to this was then after increased dose to 20mg / day weight gain, massive inner restlessness, eye flare and sexual disorders (absence of ejaculation), little sexual interest. Through a personal jogging program, however, I can narrow the weight gain, although in the evening there is an increased feeling of hunger for sweets. The most uncomfortable, however, is the constant leaden fatigue, although I do not know how to ever pursue a regular working day. Will probably sneak the drug out and then stop.

    Citalopram for Anxiety disorders

I was suffering from burnout syndrome in 2007. My fear had so caught me that I was no longer able to leave the house let alone that I could be alone at home. I got my citalopram from my neurologist, which was slowly increased in 5 mg steps. At first I had strong restlessness, but this is normal to evaluate because it is a drive-enhancing drug. The feeling disappears but the body must first adjust to it. I arrived at 25 mg and did not have to take more. Behavioral therapy is the right therapy which should be done in order to relive the fears. I also got occupational therapy at the beginning of the illness, but in the sense that someone came to my home to desensitize me first. Although I have also gained a good 12 kg but that is more water retention because the metabolism is just a bit sluggish, but you should not blame the drug right now but look if it could not just be because you come to rest and maybe just easy not as much movement as before. I would say that’s the reason for me. I was always annoyed about the weight gain, but now no more than at some point you put the drug off again and then the body gives back the kilos by itself. You do not have to gain additional stress by gaining weight but should be aware that it is so much better. AND– that it will be fine

    Citalopram for Depression

I have had experiences with three medicines, which I took one after the other. First of all citalopram, saroten (amytriptilin) and tianeurax (tianeptin) belong in this order. Reason for my treatment is a 13 months continuous dizziness that is still my daily companion and is the cause of my depression. I’ll try to write as much as possible about all medications. These are different for each of me it was like this. 1. Citalopram. Taken for 3 weeks. A new generation serotonin reuptake inhibitor with a drive-enhancing component. My doctor recommends one tablet in the evening before going to bed. Of this I can only advise against it is impossible to sleep after that the drive-increasing effect occurs very quickly. That’s why I always took those in the morning. The sleep rhythm is a bit confused. Already in the first days you can feel the drive increase significantly. the mood-enhancing effect did not really work for me but some side effects. To mention would be there, for example the inner restlessness, sleep disturbances, mood swings and motivational problems. The drive increase is not always advantageous. It often happened that I just had to walk around the apartment because I could not sit still. All in all quite bearable but only if the desired effect can be achieved. I think the drive increase did not have to be that when the mood improves that comes automatically. Citalopram is one of the antidepressants with very little side effects. However, there is an improved version called: escitalopram supposedly with even fewer side effects and better effects. 2. Saroten (amytritilin). 4 weeks ingestion. An old-school tryptic antidepressant. It inhibits both the uptake of serotonin as well as dopamine and norepinephrine. Accordingly diverse are also the side effects. I took 1 tablet (50mg) every night. After that, I slept as well as I did not sleep for a long time. As a sleeping aid so very suitable. The mood-enhancing effect did not occur here on me. I probably would have needed to take her longer. As I read from other reports, it can sometimes take 6-8 weeks. But the side effects do not make it easy. Already after the first night I had a slight dizziness. In the days after dry mouth (especially at night). Fuck no matter attitude, circulatory weakness when getting up, tiredness all day, and very fussy cravings for sweets. In 4 weeks I have already gained 2 kg. For me absolutely unacceptable because I was ever overweight and thus again Depressed was. And an antidepressant should do exactly the opposite. Luck problems I had no luck. By and large, a good drug sleep problems, panic attacks and fears you get so well and quickly under control. For me but contraindicated. 3. Tianeurax (Tianeptin) Only admitted in Germany since November 2012. Before that there were only in France and Austria. I was very skeptical before I took that and read a lot about it. Tieneptin is the only known drug that enhances serotonin uptake. In fact, he does exactly the opposite of what the other antidepressants do. But the secret is probably somewhere else. Anyway, I am very pleasantly surprised. I take the drug now for 10 days daily 3 tablets (12.5mg). For me, the effect came after a week already. I’m in a very good mood, I’m motivated and doing the things that I used to put off, like sorting paperwork on my desk. I have fun keeping up my social contacts and can even do sports again without any side effects hindering me. I’m optimistic again and emotionally balanced. It is neither impulsive nor sedative and I appreciate that very much. The taste of food is somehow more intense. I feel that as positive. The first night I had a funny dream. Otherwise I have no side effects so far. That’s how I imagine the effects of an antidepressant. It looks very inconspicuous. Unfortunately, my dizziness is still unchanged, but now I have reason to hope for improvement. A little tip on the edge for those who have to deal with depression. Short-term relief and immediate mood-enhancing effects can be achieved with a completely sleepless night. I tried it myself. In the evening a Citalopram taken, the night gone through and behold at 8 or 9 o’clock you are slightly scratched but has a really good mood. that holds

    Citalopram for Anxiety disorders

Hello dear ones .. I am new here: -) …. I hope I find people here with whom I can talk about my medication !! Well then to me, I’ve been dealing with panic attacks for 5 years now. Have now taken 3 years the drug Cymbalta 60 mg, and have always come with it well! But unfortunately, my mother got the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in December 2012: – (… the Cymbalta has not worked properly since! For almost 4 weeks I get the drug Citralopram 20 mg … the initial side effects I knew, and I have to say because of that … what but for a week is that I could only sleep during the day and am bright at night! Have talked to my psychiatrist about it yesterday, and he said I should take it in the evening instead of morning …. I made that the first time yesterday .. and promptly had a panickattack at night … maybe I have had a bad dream. Today I feel strange all day from the head and have to do with unrest. Maybe someone has I also know that I have to hold out and I’ll do it! Lg

    Citalopram for Social phobia

I was prescribed Citalopram 2 years ago for social phobia and mild depression and was virtually symptom free. Now the phobia puts a lot of strain on me again and I have decided to take it again. The first four days I took 10 mg and then 20 mg in the morning. The first four days I was very restless, loss of appetite, difficulty falling asleep, diarrhea and tremors. And I have to say that the NW are not particularly pronounced. Mood slightly improved, ao fear minimal decrease. But I still trust in the medi, because it really helped me a lot back then.

    Citalopram for Depression

I have been fighting for a mild, recurrent depression for many years, and it was not until I took this medication that all of my efforts really worked. Since I suffer more in the winter and especially in February / March, I take more in the winter (about 30 mg), less in the summer (about 20mg). I’ve been taking Citalopram for over seven years now. For many years, I’ve seen more subtle improvements, not only in my mood, but also in the range of memory, range of emotions, decision-making, and clarity in my head (I can not describe it better). Only this year I doubt whether the intake still has a positive effect. Increasing the dose is out of the question due to agitation (see below). I’m considering pausing … Side effects: In the first few weeks: Dry throat – drinking more water was easy to manage. I certainly did not drink enough, so rather positive. In the first few months (even when increasing the dose): palpitations of the heart, but no tachycardia – that lost over time Still at higher doses: agitation – I split my dose, since the agitation occurs with me after several hours of ingestion and depends on the dose.

Side effects: Palpitation; Mouth dryness; Unrest

    Citalopram for Psychological instability; Depression

In the first 5-8 days – dosage 20 mg. changing side effects (nausea, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, dry mouth, heavy sweating, inner restlessness). Then slight but steady improvement. After dose adjustment to 40 mg. renewed and increased side effects as above. After 14 days, most of them, fortunately, are so flattened that they can live with it. ATTENTION: For the male co-patients, the sexual desire is still very present but unfortunately not exercisable = & gt; lack of potency, erection = zero (even with the help of manual stimulation only very short), orgasm very weak. Unfortunately and a great pity for us guys !!.

Since I take now 15mg Cipralex instead of 40mg Citalopram now 3 months, I can only confirm that Cipralex actually works better. Side effects with citalopram: nevertheless depression (recurring), visual disturbances after ingestion, sweating, weight gain, massive restlessness. These NW have improved considerably. It is therefore in my experience really advisable to change. The KK paid Cipralex. I have been without depression for a long time and that makes life easier and more liveable. NW at Cipralex: the first 3-4 weeks tired, otherwise I can not report anything negative about Cipralex.

    Citalopram for Unrest; Sleep disorders

Mirtazapine left me immediately after evening intake after 2 hours fall into a deep sleep, but I am very bothered by the strong daytime daze, from 15 to 30 mg was high doses. 2 kilo increased but I’m doing well. I barely But sleeping disorder was corrected. I have now got 10 mg of citalopram in the morning to lift the drowsiness of mirtazapine, which worked very well the last few days, again wacher.die fear was mirtazapine has become less so, as soon as a panicatake has approached it has not come to an outbreak. Only a little heartbeat was over soon. By the beginning of citalopram until now as side effect, slight restlessness, again somewhat anxious, however the doctor meant that would be the initial side effects .. I am strong and consider it .. unpleasant for anxious patients because the fear rises again something. well wait .. is hip .. have more drive again, and partly good mood, I feel better .. hold out just takes his time until the body has got used to it …
