So it did not work for me. Had some side effects, especially doctor. In general, I had no success with anti-depressants. (Taken a total of 6 months) After four weeks of citalopram, then take another anti-depressant that should work in about 2-3 weeks. Then after 5 days (in April 2008) I went to play basketball on WE in the sun (ie before the end of the 2-3 weeks) Then I went much better, just for a day playing basketball on a free space for a few hours, really did something. This new drug should give me drive. Could not complain then either. However, when I got this drug in late July (2008) I became more active and fit. Well, that was the way it was with me. It is different with every person. Such Anti Depri medis can also be a really good help, as I have already heard several times. But tablets are chemistry and there is something like chemistry in every man. So I think you should not say yes to everything and amen. (where in such a situation is not easy) And for every single complaint (be it: fear, nervousness, zest, or the drive) to be prescribed something of the doctor, I would not, I would be skeptical. Otherwise you end up with more problems / complaints than before.

    Citalopram for Depression

Citalopram has returned me quality of life. I’ve been taking it since 2001, but with several breaks. I wanted the breaks myself, because I was in a good phase. I have few side effects, maybe increased sweating and dry mouth. Since I lived abroad, it was recommended to me even in higher doses, up to 60 milligrams. Now I want to slowly lower to 40. Just not to live in such high doses. It should be noted, however, that stopping citalopram can cause severe physical discomfort if it is discontinued too quickly. In this respect, always consult with the doctor. I can not report a decrease in libido, so do not worry. I used to lose weight on citalopram, as the depression was combated and I automatically ate less. Likewise, mindfulness increases and one takes care of oneself positively.

    Citalopram for Burnout syndrome

I was diagnosed with burnout syndrome 4 weeks ago, so I’m currently incapacitated for work. My doctor first prescribed venlafaxine for me. Unfortunately, I did not realize how much mg of the active ingredient was in a table, but I assume that it was the smallest dosage form. I took a pill around 11am and 20 minutes later my skin began to tingle. This tingling increased in the next few hours and lasted for about 36 hours until the late evening of the next day. I was very nervous all day, could not sleep easily the first night, and woke up several times during the night. I also felt like my tongue was swelling about an hour after taking it. It was not so bad that I was afraid to suffocate, but very uncomfortable. I reported these symptoms to my doctor the next day, after which she prescribed citalopram (10 mg). I should take half a tablet (ie 5 mg) daily in the first week, then increase to 10 mg. I am now at 20 mg per day and should stay on this dose. Of side effects I notice only a remarkably strong need for sleep. I sleep between 9 and 10 hours in the night and take another 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon. So I get around 10 to 11 hours of sleep a day. I do not notice any other side effects. But I can not say that the desired effects (drive increase and improvement of mood) are particularly striking.

    Citalopram for Borderline

I got 20mg right away, and then it was extremely cranky and hibbelig, my pupils were permanently huge (so it was really no placebo effect). After a week, this has returned to normal, my mood was better, but then started other side effects: loss of appetite, weight loss, nervousness and tension, aggressiveness, major problems sleeping, hot flashes and sweating. After another 2 weeks, the effect has greatly decreased, my doctor has increased the dose, but I’m still very tired, driveless, sleep about 12 hours a day and have extreme hunger (despite the whole food but not too), my Mood is very bad, I have a very strong desire to hurt myself (I have not had that for a long time, especially not so much). Last but not least, citalopram beats me extremely on the libido, I want to sex more often from the head than without medication, but physically does nothing, and I can not come to orgasm anymore. I hope the higher dose starts working in a few days and lifts my mood, otherwise I do not do this with all the side effects anymore
