    Citalopram for Social phobia; Depression

Now take Citalopram for 15 days against depression, severe sadness, fatigue and fatigue. There is also a social phobia. For years I thought therapy alone would be enough. When I arrived at a point where I saw that alone was no longer enough, I had citalopram prescribed. The first 10 days I had severe side effects like nausea, confusion (feeling like on drugs), lack of concentration, difficulty driving my car, severe fatigue, libido completely gone. Because of all these side effects, I wanted to discontinue the drug several times. Luckily I kept it through !!! Because after 10 days the NW had disappeared. I can laugh again, really freed laugh by this drug !! I could not do that for years. Now I regret that I did not start using the drug much earlier. It is really recommended, you just have to survive the start time with the creep effects.

The drug mood-brightening, but I regularly had nightmares and had hot hungry attacks and my mouth was constantly dry. After just over a week, the depression came back, my doctor said the drugs needed their time to work and increased the dose, my cravings attacks remained with the time I was irritated and became aggressive, completely unawakened and Depressed over time came also claustrophobia and Mood swings I had no joy in things that I otherwise enjoyed, was indifferent and completely absent. In the later stages of the drug increase suicidal thoughts After discontinuing the drug, I got anxiety and still can not concentrate.

    Citalopram for Depression

I’ve taken citalopram for 3 years now and I have to say that it helps with acute deppression, but should not be taken for such a long time. Because of an Op, I could not take it for 3 days and found that every day I became a little more awake in my mind. Previously, everything was in sync. No excessive joy when my grandson was offered and no grief, although my father and brother within 2 months of cancer. In the long run you will become less emotion-free, libido is severely limited, muscle pain and unfocused. My QT worth is a disaster. So as already said take ONLY to take over the acute phase and then work on yourself.

    Citalopram for Burnout syndrome

After burnout, several doctors have recommended taking this medication. After 10 mg in the first week and no positive or negative effects, I have on the advice of doctors, the dose increased to 20 mg. On the first night after increasing the dose I woke up at night, soaked in sweat, blurred vision, dizziness and panic attacks. The worst thing was a numbness in the head. The next morning I went to the doctor completely dissolute, but the only thing succinctly: As long as you do not jump out of the window take this nice on. I immediately changed the doctor but both my psycholgin and the new doctor said I should continue to take the drug. Unfortunately, the side effects became worse every day, I became more and more forgetful, severe dizziness, blurred vision, headache, loss of control led to great despair. Since then, my sleep has not been the same as before, often awake. When I woke up after 6 weeks in the morning and my left eyelid opened only 20%, I dropped off the medication against the advice of the doctors. My eyelid is working normally again, but the other side effects unfortunately still exist today (several months after weaning). After my experiences, I can only warn against this drug.

    Citalopram for Depression

I write down my experiences and hope that I can help some with it. First of all, it is important to realize that AD affects everyone differently and causes other side effects. In addition, you have to show endurance, because the side effects are after about 10 days or disappear completely. In addition, the full effect unfolds only after several weeks. I took Citalopram (10mg) at the age of 17 because of my anxiety and panic disorder. Citaporam is often prescribed for the disease and also works very well. At the beginning you are often dizzy, dizzy and bad. I also had vision problems and concentration problems. However, these continue to decline after about a week. The fear only worsens, but then it is much better … so hold out. I dropped them off at 19 because I felt better. In addition, I had the feeling that Citalopram makes emotionless. And I had persistent lipid loss. That was really annoying. My fears and Panikatakken were gone and also my depersonalization (feelings of disgust). For various personal reasons, I fell into a deep hole at 21 with again anus and panic as well as moderate depression. Then I got Cipralex. My psychiatrist said it would be better tolerated than citalopram. I am very satisfied with Cipralex. I still feel very natural and not so emotionless. At the beginning, I had mild problems with the side effects, e.g. Dizziness. Only the dream change has remained and sometimes I am a bit dazed in the morning, but otherwise the compatibility is really good and as long as I have no stress and the effect. Citalopram helped me better when it came to stress, but it may also be because the disease was not that bad back then. In general, Cipralex and Citalopram are very driving-driven, which is great. My anxiety and panic disorders are much much weaker. Only depression is even stronger. In the evenings it sometimes bothers you that you can not fall asleep. Accordingly, I am often exhausted the next day. On the other hand, I took mirtazipin. Although I sleep better with it, but it does not bring much more and it is a total fattening with me. 2 months ago I weighed 53 kg and now I weigh 60 kg. And it just does not stop, although I do sports and have already changed my diet. Today was back at the doctor and he said I should then rather times with Doxepin (in addition to Cipralex) verschuschen. Hope it shows good effect and that I am not exhausted that fast (due to depression). In the meantime, I also took imipramine. I did not like that at all. I had a low blood pressure all the time, so I was able to handle it and I was able to sleep at 6 o’clock in the evening and was generally exhausted. I then sold it again after about 4 months. Conclusion: My experience: Citalopram and Cipralex thumbs up, Mirtazipin rather mediocre, Imipramine thumbs down I hope I could help some and are also available for questions. One thing is still important to me. AD are not as bad as it is often said. You can make life a lot more worth living again. It’s really worth it. Once you have found the right medi, which requires a little money, you can enjoy life more again. Wish you all the best, Corinna

    Citalopram for Migraine; Depression

I have had migraines for 30 years. When I took the pill yet, it started exactly one week before the onset and lasted for two weeks. The rest of the month I recovered from the seizure. However, as the doctors found the pill in connection with migraine questionable, I discontinued it at the age of 34. The pain came now irregularly about 15 to 20 days in the month. Until then I had pain suppositories which put me completely paralyzed. Then suddenly there was the miracle drug Sumatriptan.Ich get the ataxes more quickly under control, but push them in principle only weiter.Aber the days of lying in the darkened room and the constant handing omitted. Preventative beta-blockers were given twice at intervals of a few years, but did not help. Life is very limited with constant migraine pain. Private problems arose, mood swings, depression. The fluktin drug really helped me in the 90’s with no side effects. But as it is very revocable as a drug, I put it off when I felt better. When I did not feel well again in 2006, I got citalopram which was supposed to increase the self-production of serotonin. They did that too. But the migraine got worse and worse and the sumatriptan tablets did not help anymore. I had constant pains without end. Very rarely a pain-free day. Erts when I felt so bad that I was no longer able to get the doctor’s prescription from the doctor and thus could not take the Citaloprampillen ceased the continuous headache abruptly. I had three months of severe withdrawal symptoms from the medication. Raging pain in the legs, tremors, agitation. I would never take it again. But since my migraine still has not improved, I started therapy with topiramate 63 days ago. After taking the first pill (25 mg in the evening), I immediately had six pain-free days. Then again six days in a row migraine. Then again six days no.So in about it remained. Initial side effects such as dizziness, nausea, shaking after taking disappeared after two weeks. However, I have speech disorders, word-finding difficulties, am incredibly forgetful, impotent, very quickly exhausted, can not concentrate and I get sick at the slightest effort and I have to sit down. Moreover, I am tired than usual, irritated and howl now only. My feelings and my perception has changed. I start to mourn things that were long forgotten, have the feeling that I am spooking, getting into something and not coming. I will sell the topiramate. The latest idea is that I have a lactose intolerance (has never come on it before) as the migraine amplifies when my diet more sum more lactose-containing foods add up. (You should definitely check, can be cause for many!) Wish me luck! oh yes, weight loss under topiramate was about 3 kilos, but now I’m really appetite again)

    Citalopram for Psychosomatic disorder

Taking citalopram because of bullying and bossing in the workplace. The trigger was a reminder – in conjunction with a legal warning shot – after 12 months of occupational, strained situation. Physical symptoms: Sleep disorders, difficulty concentrating, rapid heartbeat, headache, stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, anxiety, control, panic attacks, sweats, lack of strength and listlessness, faintness, the feeling of powerlessness and congestion, seconds of blackouts in everyday life (where I am, where wanted I go, how can I get there). Duration of administration: 5 months Dosage: 10 mg / 0-0-1 Physical side effects during ingestion: excessive sweating in the smallest activities (was found to be extremely stressful), lack of appetite, difficulty concentrating. Due to a severe bacterial infection of the middle ear, sinuses, pharynx, throat and frontal sinus with fever, I have forgotten to take citalopram for two weeks in the evening. In the third week, I noticed this fact, because I had the feeling, the cotton balls around me have lost. Clashes with my pubescent son were suddenly more violent, louder and more aggressive. Now after three weeks – in periods of aloneness – increased tearfulness added. Other physical symptoms: increased appetite, shallow sleep phases with wild dreams (with awakenings through loud calls and clearly audible monologues), doubts about the meaning of life, increase in flashbacks and thus the profound phases. Dizziness with nausea and nausea, noise in the ear and the sound of falling cherry stone bags with each (head) movement, fever, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, alternating freezing and sweating may also be due to the infection. After consultation with my doctor, the intake of citalopram is not included for the time being. Fortunately, for three months I have had a therapy place with a behavioral therapist, so that the treatment continues as such. After previous experience with Stangyl, I can recommend the use of Citalopram, if the physical symptoms significantly restrict the (professional) everyday life and in addition to the responsibility for the third person. Two colleagues have been taking citalopram for years and would like to continue doing so. Both are limited in their mental capacity and complain of sweats. However, they can not imagine ever getting along without the medical support.
