About Bystolic

manufacturer: Berlin-Chemie AG / Menarini
active substance: Nebivolol

dosage form: tablet

Nebilet contains the active substance Nebivolol. Also note the special effect of Nebilet .

Nebivolol is used to lower blood pressure in high blood pressure and normalize blood pressure over time.

Since June 2006, the drug has also been approved for the treatment of mild and moderate chronic cardiac insufficiency. This mainly affects older patients over the age of 70 who use the drug in addition to standard therapy.

For the following application areas of Nebivolol , in-depth information is available:

  • Hypertension
  • heart failure

Please also read the information on the drug groups beta-blockers, antihypertensives, to which the active ingredient nebivolol belongs.

Areas of application according to the manufacturer’s instructions

  • Hypertension with no apparent organic cause
  • Stable mild and moderate chronic myocardial insufficiency, in addition to standard therapy in the elderly (around 70 years old)

The tablets contain five milligrams of the active ingredient nebivolol and are in quarters. Thus, a very careful dose adjustment can be done.

Adults take five milligrams of nebivolol (one tablet) daily, alone or in combination with other antihypertensives. The hypotensive effect becomes apparent after one to two weeks of treatment. Occasionally, the optimal effect will only be achieved after four weeks.

For patients with renal impairment and patients over the age of 65, the recommended dose at the start of treatment is 2.5 milligrams of nebivolol (half a tablet) daily. If necessary, the daily dose can be increased to five milligrams (one tablet).

Chronic Myocardial Insufficiency
The treatment of stable chronic myocardial insufficiency must be initiated at a slow dose setting until the optimal individual dose for long-term treatment is achieved. In any case, patients should have been well-blessed in the last six weeks before the start of treatment. The dosages of the other medicines used for cardiac insufficiency must have been stable during the last two weeks before the start of treatment.

Treatment begins with 1.25 milligrams of nebivolol (a quarter tablet) once daily. At intervals of one to two weeks, the dose may then be increased to 2.5 milligrams of nebivolol (half a tablet) once a day, to five milligrams once a day and then to 10 milligrams (two tablets) once a day. 10 milligrams of nebivolol also represent the maximum daily dose.

Preferably take your dose of the drug at the same time each day. The tablets can be taken with meals.

Complete incompatibility. Effect: None. The blood pressure remains unchanged high, the pulse also (180/110, pulse 100) Side effects: tightness in the chest with shortness of breath, headache, tachycardia, nightmares, sleep disorders. The medicine was taken on the recommendation of the cardiologist. It is the fourth of the group of beta-blockers that I can not endure and drop. In consultation with the family doctor I take again the combination Dilzem (Calium antagonist) and Xenalon (Aldactone). These medications have served me well for over 7 years, and I still can not understand why the cardiologist wanted me to know they were taken away. My blood pressure was 120/80 and a pulse of 70. After discontinuing Dilzem and Xenalon and taking nebivolol, my blood pressure rose to 180/110 with a heart rate of 89 (averages over 21 measurements) as early as one day after stopping nebivolol and taking the old medications, the side effects caused by nebivolol disappeared immediately and the blood pressure dropped to 135/84 pulse 75 on the first day after taking Dilzem + Xenalon. Dilzem lowers the high blood pressure to normal, but it does not go below that. Xenalon (generic from Aldactone) is a potassium-sparing diuretic that also works to lower blood pressure.

    Bystolic for High blood pressure

I took this medicine for my high blood pressure and heart racing. I weighed 87 kg and now I have 104 kg on the scale. Did not eat a lot and did sports, nothing helped and it got more and more. In addition, my blood pressure was not great, the only positive was that heart racing was gone. Very annoying was the constant coughing (tags like night) and then hair loss was added. Was then 2 weeks ago with a cardiologist and she said weight gain and coughing could be attributed to it. Now I take candesartan 8mg for 2 weeks .. I agree well (already 2 kg less) except that the heart rate is back, but the cardiologist said that is leveling off. I hope it is not a pleasant feeling

Side effects: To cough; Increase in weight

intolerable persistent back pain, which always began about 4 hours after ingestion and could not be suppressed even with analgesics; the therapy with Nebilet had to be stopped because of that.

    Bystolic for High blood pressure

after a burnout diagnosis a few weeks later suddenly a deafening noise – doctor’s visit – rr 160/110 – great, before always low pressure. nebilet prescribed, and loud panic after only 3 blood pressure measurement by the doctor immediately started taking. Effect: immediate massive waste of the rr – if I had not reduced the dose to a quarter against the recommendation of the doctor, I would have collapsed. until getting used to, some weeks long: inner restlessness, water retention, cotton wool in the head, complete lethargy and can barely get up, but rr again top at 120/75. after having been living for ten months now, more or less like behind glass of milk – by feeling, no real joy, no sadness, etc., i will sneak out the drug. I want to be able to feel normal again and not always be muffled. For some it is certainly pleasant, for me no more. I have some fluctuations, every few months around the 160/95 or 100 – but I do not like to be in the mental state anymore. run sports again, and decrease – that is why the rr will probably settle down again – had previously through years of extraneous stress stress a dauercortisol bombardment of the body to digest. and that puts everything in the body closer, is a logical consequence. nebilet is really great for lowering blood pressure – but only if you survive the initial week-long adjustment phase – but now I think, you should not always shoot cannons on sparrows, and if the rr is some time higher, not immediately start with medication, but first try to bring about a lifestyle change.

Bystolic for Heart rhythm disturbances; High blood pressure

I was really bad for months, including 4 weeks of psychiatry! Almost 1 year tried everything, ACE inhibitors, Sartane (Blopress), Calciumanatgonisten, various beta-blockers and and and … Whatever, I was getting worse. Anxiety, restlessness, severe dizziness, sleep disturbances, panic attacks, palpitations, depressive, hair loss. That did not change with nebivolol either. I was examined cardiologically intensively, including heart catheter, everything impeccable. Lastly, I just took Nebivolol, but put it off alone and lo and behold, I’m fine again! Even the blood pressure is in a completely normal range. My GP seemed to be over-zealous and all these pills did only harm.

After the first dose head pressure developed under the skullcap. This side effect disappeared then with the permanent admission. Hair loss was also noticeable. In addition, visual disturbances and constipation have occurred. After about 30 days of taking it has come to head pressure with a slight dizziness.
