About Bisoprolol

Bisoprolol is used in the treatment of hypertension, which has no organic causes (essential hypertension), and in cardiovascular disorders.

What is the purpose of this ingredient?

  • Lower blood pressure for high blood pressure
  • Lower heart rate
  • Treat heart failure
  • Treat circulatory disorders of coronary arteries in coronary heart disease
  • treat stable angina pectoris
  • Relieve Cardiovascular Discomfort
  • treat anemia sparingly

This is how bisoprolol works

Below you will learn more about the fields of application and the mode of action of bisoprolol.
Please also read the information on the drug groups beta-blockers, antihypertensives, to which the active ingredient bisoprolol belongs.

Areas of application of the active ingredient bisoprolol

Bisoprolol is used in the treatment of hypertension, which has no organic causes (essential hypertension), and in cardiovascular disorders.

In addition, bisoprolol is used in heart diseases that are associated with inadequate oxygen supply to the heart muscle (myocardial insufficiency).

Bisoprolol is also used for circulatory disorders of the coronary arteries (coronary heart disease) and angina pectoris.

A more rare application of bisoprolol is the supportive treatment of anemia.

Patients with severe hypertension are often treated with various drugs. In addition to bisoprolol, diuretics (diuretics) or other antihypertensive agents (calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors) or vasodilating agents (eg dihydralazine, prazosin) are used.

In the case of cardiac insufficiency, the drug is combined with ACE inhibitors and diuretics as well as, optionally, with cardiac glycosides, which increase the performance of the heart.

Basically, bisoprolol is initially administered in low doses that are only gradually increased. In any case, the doctor will adjust the dosage individually to the patient, his pulse rate and the success of the treatment.

For the following applications Bisoprolol , in-depth information is available:

  • Hypertension
  • Angina pectoris
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • heart failure

Mode of action of bisoprolol

During stress, the organism releases the neurotransmitters epinephrine and norepinephrine. They generally cause an increased willingness to fight and escape the body. Especially at the heart, both substances bind to so-called beta-1 receptors. These receptors are activated by the messenger substances: The heart then beats faster and stronger, the blood pressure rises.

Bisoprolol belongs to the drug group of beta-blockers. He is “cardioselective”, since he acts after ingestion in the body exclusively on the beta-1-receptors of the heart. Bisoprolol displaces adrenalin and norepinephrine at the receptors of the heart and thus suppresses their effect. This reduces the number of heartbeats and the amount of circulating blood, and at the same time significantly reduces blood pressure.

In addition, the drug slows down the transmission of electrical impulses to the cardiac conduction system. This calms the heart when the stress is too high and relieves it.

Bisoprolol for Cardiovascular disease; Heart rhythm disturbances; High blood pressure

Amiodarone is a very effective drug for certain heart conditions, but now after nearly 4 years of use all the side effects break down. I can no longer go to the sun (severe sun allergy despite SPF 50+), have eye deposits and hormonal problems, toxic hepatitis, diarrhea, milk flow, etc., which do not improve but make life difficult. Pisoprolol causes serious side effects again after less than 6 months. toxic hepatitis, milk flow, sleep disorders, intensification of depressive phases, mood swings, dizziness, chills, muscle aches, dry eyes, sleep disorders, listlessness, etc. Olmetec plus is very well tolerated for me. Lorano and desloratadine as well.

Bisoprolol for Cholesterol value increase; Depression; High blood pressure

I’ve been living pretty well with the drug group since taking it. Citalopram can cause dizziness in the first two weeks, otherwise I had no negative perceptions. I tolerate bisoprolol excellently. I was initially able to experience muscle pain when taking simvastatin. These, however, diminished after about a week. Ramipril just runs in parallel to bisoprolol. So far no side effects detected. By taking the medication, I have my blood pressure pretty well under control. Some peaks occur again and again. But nothing bad. The blood lipids are also better and my anxiety and panic attacks are very rare. Previously, without the use of citalopram, I was rushed to the hospital several times a year with a suspected heart attack. But then it was just a hyperventilating, caused by the fears.

    Side effects: Muscle aches; Dizziness

Bisoprolol for Cholesterol value increase; High blood pressure

I have been prescribed Simvahexal for lowering LDL cholesterol. After 6 weeks I suffered a heart attack, not due to the drug. Simvastatin was also taken to lower the LDL level (40 mg daily). The LDL value was drastically lowered, so the effect was very good. After 4 months, muscle pains started to appear and then suddenly escalated in the left thigh so that I was almost unable to move. Discontinuation of simvastatin brought relief. However, after a week, sore muscles are still particularly present in the morning, which decrease during the day. Since I constantly need a low LDL value to avoid another heart attack, 1. the cholesterol value is determined and 2. an alternative drug is sought.

    Side effects: Muscle aches

Bisoprolol for Cholesterol value increase; High blood pressure

For several weeks after taking the drug have muscle pain in the right arm. First, I suspect intensive play with the Wii game console. It’s like having a sore muscle. For three weeks I have completely stopped playing. It does not get better. I tend to feel worse every day. Meanwhile, I can hardly do anything with my arm. Even dressing hurts. Although the doctor says that it does not come from the drug, he advised me to stop taking the drug. Addendum: 26 April 2010 Today, after more than a year, the pain is gone. Did not continue the medication. The pain had lasted about 3 months. At the same time with discontinuing the medication more at all 🙂 started with sports activities. Now go cycling a lot. Up to 150 km a week. Whether my values have improved, I do not know. At least I feel very healthy again 🙂 The hypertension has improved significantly. Of course, the cholesterol level itself is not detectable.

    Side effects: Muscle aches

    Bisoprolol for Heart failure

Could hardly sleep anymore, potency problems, fast out of breath, depression. After I found on the net a report that in Europe in the last 5 years, about 800,000 people have died I have discontinued the drug or halved the dose first. Since then I’m really good. The study of a Dutch cardiologist was fake. As long as greed in medicine is the order of the day, many more people will die of untreated drugs. Radical rethinking is needed now.

I take half a tablet with plenty of fluid every morning for exactly 5 days each morning. The first tendency was positive, my too high blood pressure (on average 173 / over 100 and a resting heart rate of about 98-112, fell into an acceptable measurement.) In between, however, was more noticeable that it with daily measurement again and again to very strong fluctuations Yesterday, however, was a very bad one, since my getting up in the morning and after medi-taking strong single-headed headache, high blood pressure with tachycardia, overwhelming fatigue (I was traveling by car, I had the feeling every moment the ground It is difficult to describe this feeling of being u2019s work day ends with early sleep around 4:45 pm, around 7:30 pm I was awake for around 40 minutes, then again under the coverlet home wanted from bad dreams and crying awakening, o (the night I got heavy water diarrhea and had to vomit very often, I suffered from severe cold sweats – Breaking out and had the feeling to tip over again. Bisoprolol for Atrial fibrillation

Have taken a whole range of beta-blockers because of atrial fibrillation, but with all the same side effects had, large weight gain, sleep disorders, gait insecurity, to gait weakness, body aches, muscle pain, fatigue, listlessness, hair loss, physical weakness, it is a horror. After not tolerating beta-blockers, a catheter ablation was done successfully. However, because of mild hypertension, I still have to take bisoprolol with the same side effects

I take 1/2 tablet in the morning. Very amazing was my weight gain, I now wear size 44 (previously 38/40). I’m not a glutton and eat a healthy diet. The weight gain I pushed on Cola zero, Radler. After I banish these drinks from my fridge, the scale remains constantly on adipose. For 2 months I have had dizzy spells that are so violent that I can not leave the bed. If the dizziness subsides after a day, I have a confused feeling in my head. Feeling cold in my hands and feet anyway, and I did not attribute that to the tablet. For 2 months I also have hair loss, but the dermatologist could fix it with a drug. As the other users have written, lack of drive is also available to me. In any case, in the new year after consultation with the family doctor, I will discontinue this medicine and try to keep the blood pressure within the normal range without a tablet. If that does not work, I have to resort to another drug.

    Bisoprolol for High blood pressure

I woke up explosively at night and could not fall asleep anymore. Therefore, take the blood pressure tablet in the evening and can sleep well since then. But take additional ASS 100 for better blood circulation of the head because after about 1 year taking I noticed that my concentration wears off.

    Bisoprolol for High blood pressure

I take Bisopolol 2.5mg due to hypertension. At the beginning of the intake, everything was the same, but after about 2 1/2 weeks, I am in a bad mood and I could literally start to cry word for every bit and the concentration leaves something to be desired. In general I was not able to criticize before I took it, but I have to force myself to stop crying or even sobbing.

Bisoprolol for Heart rhythm disturbances; High blood pressure

The hypotensive effect of bisoprolol, amlodipine, captopril and ramipril is unpredictable and varies according to mood. That’s why I need to check blood pressure and heart rate regularly. There are now also very good electronic blood pressure monitors that warn at the same time of arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. The hypotensive effect of Nitrolingual Acute Spray in a hypertensive emergency is excellent and can be achieved within a few minutes. The acid-inhibiting effect of omeprazole is excellent. This drug is also freely available in pharmacies. For benzodiazepines, such as bromazepam, extreme caution is required because of the risk of dependency. Luckily, I have never had withdrawal symptoms. Is probably genetic and extremely rare. As a rule, withdrawal of benzodiazepines is more difficult and protracted than alcohol or even heroin withdrawal. Otherwise, this drug works wonders for me. It lowers the blood pressure in addition to the antihypertensive drugs and helps me even in depression and of course in anxiety disorders to panic attacks. However, this drug works differently in every human being and triggers severe mental and physical dependency on most people. So, extreme caution when taking the substance group of benzodiazepines! I know enough people who could ever get away from benzodiazepines with great difficulty, if any. Very few people, to whom I also thank God, have the great fortune to be able to sell this medicine group safely and without horrible withdrawal symptoms. However, I do not take this medication regularly and not in large doses. The effect of this drug decreases very rapidly with prolonged use because the body is slowing down the production of GABA. Ergo with decreasing effect on no case increase the dose, but better to take a longer break! Then the preparation also works again as desired. This group of substances can also lead to atypical effects.
