  • Release muscle cramps

This is how Baclofen works

Below you will learn more about the fields of application and the mode of action of Baclofen.

to which the active ingredient baclofen belongs.

Application of the active substance Baclofen

Baclofen can be used wherever muscle spasm is to be abolished. The active ingredient is effective for cramps caused by signals from the brain or spinal cord.

Such cramps with increased muscle resistance can occur, for example, in multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, polio or other paralysis symptoms.

Baclofen can be taken orally, for example in the form of tablets. In severe cases, it is injected into the spinal fluid (intrathecal).

For the following application areas of Baclofen , in-depth information is available:

  • Multiple Sclerosis

Effect of Baclofen

Baclofen belongs to the group of muscle relaxants. Like all drugs in this group, baclofen also relieves muscle cramps.

Faulty control mechanisms in the brain or spinal cord can be the cause of pathological muscle spasm. For example, certain nerves are constantly activated. These nerves transmit their signals to other nerves until the signal arrives at a muscle cell. This muscle then tenses. If the signals coming from the nerve cells do not diminish, a permanent spasm of the muscle causes a spasm.

Baclofen exerts its effects in the brain and spinal cord. The active substance
is chemically similar to the most important messenger substance (transmitter substance, neurotransmitter) in the central nervous system, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It inhibits the transmission of impulses between the nerves in the spinal cord, so that no signals are transmitted to the muscles. This inhibition takes place between different nerve cells, but not at the point of transmission between nerve and muscle.

Because baclofen generally curbs brain activity, the undesirable side effect is tiredness (sedation), somnolence, drowsiness, and a reduction in voluntary muscle power.

Potential Baclofen side effects may include:

    Baclofen for Alcohol addiction

A French cardiologist Ants (he really is called, see Google) has his alcohol addiction with it. I’m trying it now, so far I have felt a slight reduction in my need for alcohol. Seems to work! Positive side effect: mood-enhancing, slightly aggression-enhancing. Realized that I put my interests behind for fifty years, change that now, tell some people what I’ve always thought, put my interests to the test now! Will lose some acquaintances, which I should have renounced earlier! Feel great about it. I am married, financially independent, very active pensioner. Negative side effect: slight dizziness, not bad. When drinking alcohol strong verbal aggressiveness, acts like truth serum! Max. Permissible amount of alcohol in my case: 0.5 l. But I’m now well under control!

    Baclofen for Multiple sclerosis

Baclofen I got, because I had a strong tremor in the legs by the MS when getting up. It had already taken a few minutes to convince my legs that I would like to start now. The legs were also very restless which made falling asleep very difficult. With Baclofen, the tremor has diminished and falling asleep is easier.

morning and evening I should take 10mg baclofen dura. The only thing that caught my eye was a heavy tiredness between 12.00 and 16.00. Especially when driving it was dangerous because my eyes fell over again and again and again and again and again I came to the other lane to me. Until someone told me that it comes from the tablets passed a while.

    Baclofen for Alcohol disease

I have been taking baclofen for a month with a weekly slowly increasing dosage. Before I drank about a bottle of wine and 10 beers (0.33 liters) daily. My alcohol consumption has now halved, without me forced to. The side effects are manageable and tolerable, however, I would advise against the moment the increase in the dose of driving a car, because that could be dangerous because of the concentration disorders (I drive of course not car anyway). These disorders diminish as the body gets used to the new dose. Sometimes you feel a bit strange, but you have less and less desire to drink.

    Baclofen for Alcohol disease

After several weaning treatments that did not have a resounding success, I found Baclofen doing an internet search. I see light for the first time at the end of the tunnel. Very valuable information, literature references, dosage recommendations can be found in a highly recommended forum The registration is very easy. Very recommendable !! At this point, I would like to dissuade you from referring to it from abroad. It is better to convince your family doctor / neurologist to prescribe a baclofen off-label. Since patent protection has expired, Baclofen is relatively inexpensive (100 pcs., 25mg, about 25 €.). In the doctor search also helps the mentioned forum on. LG, Werner

    Baclofen for Alcohol disease

For almost 30 years, I had to make many bad experiences by alcohol abuse until the beginning of November, in the peak up to 10 half a liter of beer daily. When I once again had to make an outpatient withdrawal, I met the Internet on the baclofen. That’s what I had suggested to my doctor about trying to use this as an off-label drug myself. After a week of familiarization – where I still felt no real relief (probably because of the physical withdrawal symptoms), I can confirm today after 3 weeks of intake clearly: it works. I no longer have any craving for alcohol, my depressive symptoms are no longer detectable in the form, fears have subsided, self-confidence has built up. I can say today: miracles are there but always, you just have to get involved. Thanks, dr. Ants and thanks to my doctor.

    Baclofen for Depression; Alcohol addiction

I came across baclofen after internet research on alcoholism and ordered it from Spain without a prescription. Half an hour after taking the greed for alcohol disappears. In acute cases, e.g. At parties, you should always have an emergency dose. I take a total of 40 mg every day, in the morning, afternoon and evening (in the evening I take 20 mg, because the greed is usually the greatest at this time). I’ve been dry for almost a month thanks to Baclofen. I feel no desire for alcohol anymore and do not even think about it. It helps, try it out. I am a completely new person. I can watch people drinking without it bothering me. I walk in the supermarket on shelves full of alcohol and I’m not interested. That was unthinkable in the past! What I did not know when I took it was that it also helps fight anxiety and depression (common causes of alcoholism). Against fears, the remedy helps very quickly, namely after a few minutes (that does not create an antidepressant). My depression has almost disappeared after nearly three weeks of taking and abstinence. Unfortunately, the drug is not approved in Germany against alcoholism. Either you have to order it via the Internet from Spain or an open doctor, who can feel the desperation of an alcoholic, who has prescribed it an off-label (fortunately make more and more doctors). Side effects: drowsiness, mild dizziness and lack of concentration in the first few days. PS: Contrary to many opinions, Baclofen does not make you dependent. I forgot a dose several times without having withdrawal symptoms. It is also not a placebo effect. Anyone who knows addiction knows how bad the greed is and if it were only a placebo effect, no false optimism in the world could dissuade one from not giving in to his addiction. Addiction is one of the strongest drive motors in humans. Some researchers assume that they are even stronger than hunger and thirst.

    Baclofen for Investigated

I take all these medicines so that I can live reasonably well again. I would not recommend SUBUTEX or Diazepam to anyone who is not specifically prescribed it by the doctor. I got this ducrh my politoxicomania, caused by years of physical and mental ill-treatment, and by multiple postraumatic stress disorder..I helped the lyrics and the baclofon when I had withdrawn from Subutex and Diazepam..Was, however, by my psychosomatic disorders Since the withdrawal, I have to take this lyrics and baclofen, in addition, since I suffer from mood swings since the withdrawal, and by this withdrawal into a psychichen and physical stress, because I myself an excessive pressure had, because I absolutely wanted to make it .. However, even slipped into a burnout syndrome, which proved to be true hell .. Overall, I can only say that I tolerate all drugs, well, except the Lyrica, of which I actually Should take 225mg a day, but only 75mg to take me, otherwise I have too high water retention, and completely dur be together …

Baclofen for Depression; Investigated; Alcohol addiction

It’s strange, but was :)) For months, I drink one to two bottles of wine a day and consume about 5-10g of cocaine a week. For two days I have with baclofen (100mg) a day no more request. Neither after cocaine nor after alcohol. Sexual desire is severely limited, but not so bad. I feel a bit dizzy, my muscles are limp, my ability to concentrate leaves something to be desired, the circulation is not very stable … all in all, bearable. The voice control is in no way limited, the eyes are clear. I’m a bit fidgety, and I have strong urge to move, especially the legs are constantly bobbing. Doxipin does not help against cocaine and alcohol addiction. She is more paralyzing and debilitating and sometimes you are just too tired to call your dealer. When I feel a strong craving for cocaine, I took 100mg of doxipin and after half an hour, I did not want to move. But does not always help especially if the pressure is too high. – On the other hand, baclofen is a real panacea, because the pressure disappears … I can look to the future with confidence again. Baclofen is absolutely recommended. The urge for addictive substances is no longer present.

Hello … Well, I took baclofen 5 weeks ago so sporadically because I got it from a former cohabiting patient. Now I take it officially since Thursday prescribed by the doctor and although mor12.5 with 12.5 abe12.5 can therefore auich I have not been able to say much about it yet, but I’ve been able to sleep very well since Thursday, I’ve read that some had their problems with them … The only thing I had with the irregular intake was a slight headache, which is pretty much gone now ..

The addiction pressure is not completely gone, but can be controlled well by me. I can already see friends drinking beer. I have to see the situations in which I drank to survive. Positive side effects: I suffer from hypertension. By taking the BD of 160/110 has dropped in the BD, in the last 8 days even to the value of 130/85. negative: I do sports regularly. Unfortunately, I have to say that I then terribly hurt my bones (sore muscles I never had!).

At first I thought that I did not notice, but meanwhile, after a short intake with less baclofen, I find it helpful! If you have addictions in any case !!! It does not help so much against my social phobia. Take 75 mg, the maximum dose or? The only side effects are that when I sleep, I wake up and have the feeling that I can not breathe. Or in a dream, everything happens very slowly and I can not move my body properly. But I’m not so dramatic. Can only recommend it !!!
