Areas of application of the active substance azithromycin

Azithromycin is used to treat upper and lower respiratory tract infections. These include sinusitis, pharyngitis and tonsillitis as well as infections of the bronchi and pneumonia. As an infusion into the vein, it is effective in the latter even in Legionnaire’s disease. In addition, it is used for middle ear infections.

Mode of action of azithromycin

Azithromycin belongs to the active ingredient group of macrolide antibiotics. It inhibits the growth of bacteria as it blocks the protein production of the pathogens. This makes it antibacterial.

Compared to the other members of this group, it is characterized by a longer efficacy, so that it is usually sufficient to take azithromycin only for a short period of time. This effect is based on an increased accumulation of the active ingredient in the body.

Hello I had to resort to the drug because I have a penicillin allergy. 1 h after the first ingestion. Then panic attack, feeling unwell, heart bites, muscle spasm. The night was the horror. On the 2nd day of drowsiness, dizziness, 2nd taking tablet I split and dissolved in water. Slowly taken throughout the day combined with food. I’m doing much better. Only to be recommended for fuely !!! ‘ 😉 I hope I’ll pass the third day. Was also a doctor on the second day all ok.

    Azithromycin for Angina tonsillaris

So, I take this antibiotic for 2 days and it does not work. The complaints started with huge sore throat and then very severe cold, pain in the ear. Then after the 1st tablet, the head cold shifted slightly, but my throat almost got worse! I’m now coughing my lungs out, one tablet is still, but I wonder: Does this medicine at all ???! – Actually, I wanted to go back to work tomorrow, probably nothing, I go with the drug again to the doctor and ask what he has prescribed me there, I’m still not healthy and no guinea pig! Good morning to you all

    Side effects: Ineffectiveness

    Azithromycin for Sinusitis

I have been severely disabled since taking it. Can no longer see properly, cognitive disorders, constant breathing difficulties and the worst pain. It’s been 1 3/4 years since I took that. Pure poison, every doctor who prescribes something like that is in jail, my life is over and I’m still young–

    Side effects: Respiratory complaints

I got the medication prescribed by my dentist because of my paradontitis and started taking it in the evening at about 6 o’clock yesterday evening. About 2 hours later I had intestinal cramps, diarrhea and vomiting yesterday. At night then extreme chills. Although I do not know if this is now coincidence and I may have caught a virus, but when I read the reviews I think that may be side effects. I will visit my family doctor today to clarify this.

    Azithromycin for Sinusitis; Bronchitis (acute)

I received azithromycin 500mg for 3 days for sinusitis and bronchitis (and for pneumonia prophylaxis in existing asthma). This drug was previously prescribed for such infections and it did not cause me any side effects at that time. Unfortunately, this time it was different: Approx. 2 hours after taking the first pill, gastric spasms, which lasted in an attenuated form until the next administration on the following day. On the second day of the intake stomach cramps and diarrhea (1x, again about 2 hours after ingestion) were added to the stomach cramps. The third intake was accompanied by mild respiratory distress. One day after taking the third dose, I got a kind of flush, accompanied by dizziness and a sudden feeling of weakness, so that my face was warm and red for several hours and I had to lie down because of the weakness. I noticed sleep problems and nocturnal anxiety attacks during two nights during the intake. In addition, there is a massive dehydration of the skin and mucous membrane, which manifests itself in particular by desquamation and tearing of the face and lip skin and by a thickening of the nasal mucus and sputum. In addition, I am increasingly thirsty, so that I come to a daily intake of 4.5 liters of water. This enormous thirst persists today, two days after the end of the intake. As well as the massive dryness of the skin and mucous membranes. I also suffer from loss of appetite and partly from sudden nausea and a weight loss of 1.5kg. The described side effects or symptoms merely describe my personal experience with the drug. Since every person reacts differently to medication and this also depends on many factors, I will refrain from recommendations for or against azithromycin.

Azithromycin for Dizziness; Tonsillitis; Bronchitis (acute)

Intake: 3 days with significant side effects Day 1: Brain pressure, drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, headache. 2nd day: fatigue, drowsiness, pressure in the head, dizziness. 3rd day: after last use, 2 hours later, diarrhea 5 times, dizziness, cardiovascular problems, drowsiness, difficulty seeing. Joint pain. 4th day: gastrointestinal spasms, dizziness, insomnia, cardiovascular. No more diarrhea, but a soft bowel movement, followed by gastrointestinal spasms. 5th day: gastrointestinal spasms. Since the antiobiotikum lingers for days in the body, I do not know what the next few days still bring with it, otherwise the Doc again. Conclusion: This drug is clearly from the market. There are enough reviews for this purpose.

Over the first 30 days of therapy, I had to take the medication with doxycyline 200mg in combination pulsing every 3 days. Side effects were: heavy urination, dandruff on the face and red spots, strong ear noises like droning, in the evening totally tired and at night I could not sleep, listlessness, although I’m an endurance athlete and not a moaning (5x per week training – about 10 12 hrs) – my symptoms of chlamydia were compounded by the drug during the intake phase.
