Areas of application of the active substance azithromycin

Azithromycin is used to treat upper and lower respiratory tract infections. These include sinusitis, pharyngitis and tonsillitis as well as infections of the bronchi and pneumonia. As an infusion into the vein, it is effective in the latter even in Legionnaire’s disease. In addition, it is used for middle ear infections.

Azithromycin is not the drug of first choice for tonsillitis or pharyngitis caused by streptococcal pathogens. This also applies to the preventative dose of rheumatic fever.

Azithromycin is also effective in skin infections and soft tissue infections.

In addition, azithromycin can be taken in infections of the genitals by gonorrhea or Chlamydia. As an infusion into the vein, the drug is used in inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, but also of the vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate gland and epididymis.

For the following uses of Azithromycin , in-depth information is available:

    • pneumonia
    • acute bronchitis
    • urinary tract infections
    • skin infections

Mode of action of azithromycin

Azithromycin belongs to the active ingredient group of macrolide antibiotics. It inhibits the growth of bacteria as it blocks the protein production of the pathogens. This makes it antibacterial.

Compared to the other members of this group, it is characterized by a longer efficacy, so that it is usually sufficient to take azithromycin only for a short period of time. This effect is based on an increased accumulation of the active ingredient in the body.

    Azithromycin for Bronchitis (chronic)

As already stated in the scoring, I did not experience any side effects. Several years ago I have already taken an azithromycin drug-containing antibiotic (also 3 tablets / Zithromax). At that time – as now in the first week of March 2011 – I had no recognizable side effects, but temporally rapid improvement of the symptoms.

I got the medicine because of my bronchitis, because I am an asthmatic and atopic dermatologist, I did not have a good feeling until I read so much this drug, but well it took then and I do not have to say 1 side effect I went well yesterday coped with the 3 ingestion. I think the more you read the more side effects occur. I would take it again, it helps very well and I’m almost rid of my discomfort.

    Azithromycin for Chlamydia infection

I should take 2 tablets at a time from my doctor and also the supplement at my illness, only to be treated in one day at a time. More often I do not need to take it, after taking it took only 2 hours. I got Doll’s stomach pain and also in the intestine. I could scarcely stand in front of me. In addition, the nausea, no hunger and strong diarrhea throughout the day, as it is tomorrow, I do not know unfortunately yet. Nevertheless, today enough for me, my strong appendicitis where my stomach was blown up 3 times as hard as a car tire, act just as much. I would never take the pills again. Thank god I had that day off.

    Azithromycin for Chlamydia infection

I rarely had such a feeling in the stomach area. I thought I had an allergic shock reaction to a meal when I got this pain. I could barely sit straight and had diarrhea. with the nausea I had to fight, in addition came chills and associated cold sweat. my doctor said the three-day treatment helped. but still I would not want to take this drug again and also advise against others. Because it can not be healthy if a drug causes such severe side effects.

    Azithromycin for Page strand angina

Have ‘only’ diarrhea, stomach grumble and actually stomach ache. But I do not know AB, that does not cause stomach pain, therefore, every doctor should prescribe gastric juice resistant pills, such as pantroprazole. I’ve got it myself. This makes the AB therapy more bearable. No dizziness or nausea. I can not judge the effectiveness yet. Today third intake day. Ear and throat pain are gone, but I still feel very powerless, household is exhausting, quickly out of breath.

    Side effects: Diarrhea

    Azithromycin for Page strand angina

Yesterday, 07.07 at 10:00 o’clock first intake. My doctor immediately recommended to take an antibiotic because I have purulent spots in my throat and felt like a dirty dog. Headache, sinuses tight, difficulty swallowing and the whole program. So after taking first no abnormalities after 2 hours of normal walk to the toilet and then suddenly the rotary swindle. Schwindelattake until shortly before the collapse – then quickly on the couch, legs bent and first breathe. I stayed there for the first time and then I had a terrible stomachache and after about 3 hours and a little sleep I felt better again. Last night it was great and now I take the second tablet. Take a look!:)

I got the stuff because of (acute, viral) pneumonia prescribed. The stuff breaks the stomach and there is blood in the stool. IchbinHochleistungssportler and extremely hard to take, but the grits make you break. Well, you do not want to have a chronic LE, so I’ll take that stuff too. Azithromycin for A headache; Tonsillitis; Sinusitis

I have to use the drug for the second time within 3 months. The effect occurred after the second day. The sore throat was almost gone and the mucus from the paranasal sinuses began to leak. At my first application in December I had the preparation from Sandoz and no problems. With my current intake (preparation from AbZ Pharma because that would have to be ordered by Sandoz first) I have one hour after taking strong convulsions in the upper and lower abdomen get to nausea. These convulsions lasted about 2 hours recurring. I would take the Medikamment again but then only by Fa. Sandoz.

    Azithromycin for Fever

Like almost everyone I tried to get rid of my flu infection by the usual remedies. That failed, so to the doctor. After a blood test turned out that bacteria were involved, so had triggered a secondary infection. Thus, then probably an antibiotic is the first choice. When I read the instruction leaflet, I was not sure if I really want the azithromycin next to it. My concerns were unnecessary. After taking the second tablet, a slight improvement was already noticeable. Today, 2 days after taking the 3rd tablet, I feel much better. A complete recovery in the short time was also unlikely. Side effects did not occur with me. Since I have a sensitive stomach, I was particularly worried about it. But all right, great drug.

Allergic reaction 1/2 hour after ingestion. Shortness of breath and panic. The stuff is too strong. That will blow you over. Ingestion canceled. Have never reacted so negative to an antibiotic. What is that means? Why are only 3 tablets enough here? Is that overdosed?
