What side effects can Anastrozole have?

Very common side effects:
Common side effects:
fatigue, joint pain, joint stiffness, dry vagina, hair loss, rash, nausea, diarrhea, headache.
Uncommon side effects:
vaginal bleeding, loss of appetite, excess of cholesterol in the blood, vomiting, drowsiness.
Very rare side effects:
Allergic reactions such as skin swelling and redness and itching, decreased bone density with an increased risk of bone fractures due to lowering the estrogen concentration in the blood.
What interactions does Anastrozole show?
Please note that the interactions may vary depending on the drug formulation of a drug (eg tablet, syringe, ointment).
- Estrogens and combinations with these hormones neutralize the effects of anastrozole.
- Tamoxifen, another breast cancer drug, can reduce the effects of anastrozole.
Anastrozole should therefore not be taken with the drugs mentioned.
There are no known significant interactions with anastrozole with other therapeutic agents.
