About Amoxicillin

Amoxicillin is used to treat acute and chronic infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to amoxicillin. These include

  • Ear, nose and throat diseases such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis,
  • Eye infections by bacteria,
  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia or whooping cough,
  • Sepsis (blood poisoning),
  • Meningitis (meningitis),
  • Urinary tract infections,
  • venereal diseases (such as gonorrhea),
  • Biliary tract infections,
  • Gastrointestinal infections,
  • Skin and soft tissue infections,
  • Listeriosis (infectious disease with flu-like symptoms, sometimes associated with sepsis and meningitis),
  • Inflammation of bone and bone marrow (osteomyelitis),
  • Inflammation of the endocardium (endocarditis).

In addition, the active ingredient, for example, during surgery in the jaw area, for the prevention of bacterial infection.
It can also be used for the treatment of salmonella and typhoid persistence. Such persons excrete the bacteria with the stool, although they themselves show no disease symptoms. But they are a source of infection for their fellow humans.

Amoxicillin is not decomposed by stomach acid. It is therefore acid-stable and can therefore be absorbed into the body via the gastrointestinal tract. Sometimes, however, tablet or juice administration is not sufficient to achieve bactericidal levels in certain areas of the body. In severe infectious diseases such as sepsis or meningitis amoxicillin is therefore usually given directly into the blood (intravenous administration). It is also possible to inject the active substance into the muscle (intramuscular administration).

What is the purpose of this ingredient?

  • treat bacterial infections
  • Treat throat, nose and throat infections
  • Treat infections in the gastrointestinal tract
  • Alleviate bile duct infections
  • Treat infections of the urinary tract and kidneys
  • Treat inflammation of the respiratory tract
  • Prevent inflammation of the heart’s lining and heart valves
  • Fight salmonella and typhoid fever
  • Relieve inflammation of the bones.

Mode of action of amoxicillin

Amoxicillin Belongs to the drug group of antibiotics and there to the subgroup of penicillins. It prevents the bacteria from building up a functional cell wall during their growth phase. As a result, the microorganisms die off; This is called a bactericidal effect.

However, only amoxicillin-sensitive pathogens can be controlled with the drug. Other bacteria have natural or acquired defense mechanisms against the substance and can decompose them before they harm them. Since they do not respond to a treatment, such pathogens are called insensitive or resistant.

Amoxicillin is well tolerated because, to a large extent, it is rapidly absorbed from the intestine into the body. This protects the bacteria that are naturally found in the human intestine, the so-called intestinal flora.

    Amoxicillin for Skin rash; Fever

On the second day after the intake, I had pustules all over my body, terrible itching and flushing sensation on my skin. That got worse a day later. The pustules dilate to red spots, itching, heat and tension feeling have become more. The worst is the upper body, on the thighs, arms, palms and face. It should be an amoxicillin rash (not allergy). Hopefully it will not take so long, it will be very stressful.

    Amoxicillin for Inflammation; Bacterial infection

I took the medication one week (7 days) as discussed with my doctor. After the 8th day, so after the completion of the intake, I discovered small red pustules on the thighs. These spread over the next 24 hours. Affected were legs, stomach, back, chest and neck. It was a burning-itchy itchy rash, sometimes covering whole areas or just showing up in measles form. My doctor then said that it was an allergic reaction, and said that’s going back. He advised a lot to drink. However, I have insisted on an ointment or remedy that at least relieves the itching and possibly prevents it from spreading further. He wrote a cortisone ointment, but that did not improve the juckreit. And also on the face spots soon appeared. Here I could only hope and wait.

    Amoxicillin for Bacterial infection

The tablets are too big and I should take 3 tablets daily from the doctor. It was morning, noon and evening. However, I got heavy diarrhea after 2 days. I continued to take the tablets for 2 more days and noticed that my diarrhea is getting worse. I then stopped the tablets and after 2 days there was still no improvement. It gets worse. If I eat something or drink, it will not stay in my stomach, but must return to the toilet after 3-5 minutes and have diarrhea. There is nothing left in the body. Can then probably first go to the doctor and report them. There are no recommendations from me!

    Amoxicillin for Laryngitis

I got 20 amoxicillin tablets for laryngitis. I took the tablets 3 times a day and I felt better. In the beginning I had no side effects no nausea, no diarrhea. But when I took the last tablet, the evil began. I got an itchy rash on my right arm, which spread over the whole body overnight. I was full of red pustules from top to bottom. I went straight to the doctor – I have an allergy to amoxicillin, and I’m NOT allowed to take this medicine anymore, besides, I got Fenistil antiallergic.

He put an acute swelling of the larynx and the polyps: Amoxicillin 1000; 3 times a day plus cortisone tablets every day for exactly 15 days. From the second day I had muscle aches as after a heavy workout and the feeling that my muscles are constantly tense, even when lying down.

    Amoxicillin for Cystitis

I took Amoxicillin 1000mg twice a day for 5 days. Since I usually react to side effects and had to stop taking two antibiotics, I was amazed that I tolerated amoxicillin without any problems. Since I was already battered before, I also had to take a vitamin B complex (B12, B6, foal acid, etc.). I have been taking Imonaflor for a long time for the intestine. Maybe it was due to the additional drugs taken that no side effects have developed.

    Amoxicillin for Cystitis

Amoxicillin got because of a bladder infection, as there was a suspicion of pregnancy and therefore safe because of this antibiotic could prescribe. Did it after a week and 2 days, then in the morning itching first on the ankle. In the evening my belly, my insides of the upper arms, my thighs and my arms and in general all parts of the body where the skin is thinner were dotted with terribly itchy red pustules. It was as unbearable as it was on the palms of his hands. Did not sleep for a second, my whole body even the scalp have itched like hell, could not stand it without scratching. Even going to the doctor was a torture then have cetirizine tablets (which, by the way, are not prescription, ie with appropriate symptoms can first help, but should absolutely still go to the doctor to rule out an allergic shock), which worked immediately after 30 min to have.

Amoxicillin for Respiratory infections; Flu; Tonsillitis

Hello my name is Mario and I really do not want to advise you on Amoxcillin 1000 mg, because today I have the worst 10 min. have experienced in my entire life. I had a very severe sore throat and I had a pack of Ospen 1500 mg at home that helped me a lot last time. I took an Ospen in the morning and the same day my mother drove me to the doctor and he prescribed me Amoxcillin 1000 mg and my mother pointed out to the doctor that I already had an ospen today … he said: Ospen stop taking amoxcillin. Well, in the afternoon I took the first and the last Amoxcillin. After about 30-50 sec. After taking it, I noticed a very strange feeling, it was a mixture between pushing and dizziness, my heart started racing like crazy I got extremely dizzy … (I get goose bumps again when I write this article) I have been in my 24 years yet Never so worried about my life, I thought I was going to get a stroke or something. I immediately lay down, called my mother and I wanted to explain to her that I am not at all well and that I have extreme heart rate since taking the antibiotic, I could not speak properly because I cried and really had been scared for my life. After about 1-2 min. The tachycardia disappeared again, my mother calmed me down and talked to me well. She called the family doctor and he said it was an allergic reaction. I am supposed to drink a lot of water so that I can get it out of my body as quickly as possible with urine. After approx. 10 min. everything has settled down again just me was extremely cold and I felt a strong press. But that went away after about 1 hour, except for a few headaches. To all who have read this article: PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICAMENTAs I said, it was the worst 10 minutes in my life, I’m really scared that I will not survive this day. I hope this article does not sound kind of scary now, I just described it exactly as I felt it. So again PLEASE PLEASE finger away from Amoxicillin 1000 mg LG Mario

Side effects included mild abdominal pain and constant diarrhea. lost 3 pounds. Treatment was switched to Avalox 400 tablets. Already after taking the first tablet the drug started. No fever and sweat more and coughing improved after two days. Had no side effect described in the supplement. On the contrary, the appetite increased, no stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea more. And instead of depression I was in a better mood than before. (I did not understand either) 🙂

    Amoxicillin for Lung infection

One day AFTER taking a small rash on the neck, which was gone one day later. Another day later, then a huge rash on the face and upper body first. Face swollen. After 2-3 days no rash on the face, but still on the upper body and now also on the limbs. Taking Fenistil shows no relief of rash. Cortisone tablets and ointments also show no effect. On the second and third day additionally extreme itching all over the body. One week later, the same itchy rash continues on the body, now using a cortisone injection and Xusal. According to the dermatologist, the rash will go away only after 3 weeks.

    Side effects: Allergic skin reaction
