About Amoxicillin

Amoxicillin is used to treat acute and chronic infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to amoxicillin. These include

  • Ear, nose and throat diseases such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis,
  • Eye infections by bacteria,
  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia or whooping cough,
  • Sepsis (blood poisoning),
  • Meningitis (meningitis),
  • Urinary tract infections,
  • venereal diseases (such as gonorrhea),
  • Biliary tract infections,
  • Gastrointestinal infections,
  • Skin and soft tissue infections,
  • Listeriosis (infectious disease with flu-like symptoms, sometimes associated with sepsis and meningitis),
  • Inflammation of bone and bone marrow (osteomyelitis),
  • Inflammation of the endocardium (endocarditis).

In addition, the active ingredient, for example, during surgery in the jaw area, for the prevention of bacterial infection.
It can also be used for the treatment of salmonella and typhoid persistence. Such persons excrete the bacteria with the stool, although they themselves show no disease symptoms. But they are a source of infection for their fellow humans.

Amoxicillin is not decomposed by stomach acid. It is therefore acid-stable and can therefore be absorbed into the body via the gastrointestinal tract. Sometimes, however, tablet or juice administration is not sufficient to achieve bactericidal levels in certain areas of the body. In severe infectious diseases such as sepsis or meningitis amoxicillin is therefore usually given directly into the blood (intravenous administration). It is also possible to inject the active substance into the muscle (intramuscular administration).

What is the purpose of this ingredient?

  • treat bacterial infections

  • Prevent inflammation of the heart’s lining and heart valves
  • Fight salmonella and typhoid fever
  • Relieve inflammation of the bones.
  • inhibiting build-up of the bacterial wall
  • Kill bacteria

Mode of action of amoxicillin

Amoxicillin Belongs to the drug group of antibiotics and there to the subgroup of penicillins. It prevents the bacteria from building up a functional cell wall during their growth phase. As a result, the microorganisms die off; This is called a bactericidal effect.

However, only amoxicillin-sensitive pathogens can be controlled with the drug. Other bacteria have natural or acquired defense mechanisms against the substance and can decompose them before they harm them. Since they do not respond to a treatment, such pathogens are called insensitive or resistant.

Amoxicillin is well tolerated because, to a large extent, it is rapidly absorbed from the intestine into the body. This protects the bacteria that are naturally found in the human intestine, the so-called intestinal flora.

I had the drug at that time because of helipabacter pylori in combination with another antibiotic the whole hiea zac pac. Got it very well. Had during the treatment only a bit bitter on the tongue but not on amoxilin but on the other drug. This year, I had a urinary tract infection with a high fever headache and body aches and general feeling of illness had amoxi for it and after the first dose I was better, where I only twice a day. 1000mg andtatt 3 times a day. I had zero side effects and always made sure that half an hour before eating I had a gastroprotective and after eating the antibiotics. Now I got a thick Zahnentzümdung my antibiotics choice of course amoxi the first two days I took again twice a day .100 mg and the following 3 times a day. 1000mg. After the jaw had brought nothing had so far her.Meine cheek has gone back well and the pain has subsided. I had some circulation problems on 2 days but it was 30 degrees warm and I could hardly eat anything. honestly I find it scary what some write here. I have a chronic gastrointestinal inflammation very sensitive stomach and intestine and tolerate it super. It would be really great to read here sometimes positive. Often people do not make you so mad even before taking it. Of course, the drug is different for everyone but all I know it is super. You should always note that it is a penicillin and many people allergic to it. I can only say from my side that I am well tolerated without side effects …

    Amoxicillin for A headache; Tonsillitis

Amoxicillin was the right choice for the primary disease, even the chronic sinusitis had decreased significantly after the first day. Unfortunately, my left eye is swollen now, since the tear duct is not blocked and there is no inflammation, only the medicament come into question. So far I have had no side effects either after the short-term use of painkillers (aspirin, paracetamol, diclofenac, ibuprofen, dolormin, max 2 days) or after antibiotics (also amoxicillin), but I have not had any combination with Novalgin so far I suspect that this combination has caused the side effect, because in both cases, there may be rare eye problems.
