About Amoxicillin

Amoxicillin is used to treat acute and chronic infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to amoxicillin. These include

  • Ear, nose and throat diseases such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis,
  • Eye infections by bacteria,
  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia or whooping cough,
  • Sepsis (blood poisoning),
  • Meningitis (meningitis),
  • Urinary tract infections,
  • venereal diseases (such as gonorrhea),
  • Biliary tract infections,
  • Gastrointestinal infections,
  • Skin and soft tissue infections,
  • Listeriosis (infectious disease with flu-like symptoms, sometimes associated with sepsis and meningitis),
  • Inflammation of bone and bone marrow (osteomyelitis),
  • Inflammation of the endocardium (endocarditis).

In addition, the active ingredient, for example, during surgery in the jaw area, for the prevention of bacterial infection.
It can also be used for the treatment of salmonella and typhoid persistence. Such persons excrete the bacteria with the stool, although they themselves show no disease symptoms. But they are a source of infection for their fellow humans.

Amoxicillin is not decomposed by stomach acid. It is therefore acid-stable and can therefore be absorbed into the body via the gastrointestinal tract. Sometimes, however, tablet or juice administration is not sufficient to achieve bactericidal levels in certain areas of the body. In severe infectious diseases such as sepsis or meningitis amoxicillin is therefore usually given directly into the blood (intravenous administration). It is also possible to inject the active substance into the muscle (intramuscular administration).

What is the purpose of this ingredient?

  • treat bacterial infections
  • Treat throat, nose and throat infections
  • Treat infections in the gastrointestinal tract
  • Alleviate bile duct infections
  • Treat infections of the urinary tract and kidneys
  • Treat inflammation of the respiratory tract
  • Prevent inflammation of the heart’s lining and heart valves
  • Fight salmonella and typhoid fever
  • Relieve inflammation of the bones.
  • inhibiting build-up of the bacterial wall
  • Kill bacteria

Mode of action of amoxicillin

Amoxicillin Belongs to the drug group of antibiotics and there to the subgroup of penicillins. It prevents the bacteria from building up a functional cell wall during their growth phase. As a result, the microorganisms die off; This is called a bactericidal effect.

However, only amoxicillin-sensitive pathogens can be controlled with the drug. Other bacteria have natural or acquired defense mechanisms against the substance and can decompose them before they harm them. Since they do not respond to a treatment, such pathogens are called insensitive or resistant.

Amoxicillin is well tolerated because, to a large extent, it is rapidly absorbed from the intestine into the body. This protects the bacteria that are naturally found in the human intestine, the so-called intestinal flora.

    Amoxicillin for Mastitis

Rash on the 5th day after taking Amoxicillin, itching. I came to the hospital with shortness of breath and circulatory problems, 8 days in hospital. Rash was treated with cortisone, only slow swelling of the rash (looked like a large-scale sunburn after 2 days). Rash on the face, generally only limited itching. Cortison was initially high-dose, less daily (over about 14 days) no lasting damage, my doctor had found after a blood test (8 weeks later) no drug intolerance, but the bacteria that had triggered the nipple inflammation would probably have reacted with the drug in the drug (do not know what to think of it)

    Side effects: Allergic skin reaction

    Amoxicillin for Gastritis

I’m from Africa, and live in Halle an der Saale. So I have never been so scared in my life even though they tried to kill me twice in Africa and I lived in the war and therefore I have seen and experienced a lot So I get to the point, I have a gastroscopy on 31.07 .2017 and 3 days later I was told that I have gastritis or the stomach is inflamed by bacteria. I was prescribed amoxi 1000 mg + other tablets. From the second day after taking the tablets, I had diarrhea, dizziness, fever, shortness of breath, tachycardia, etc … I thought I was dying. Such a fear and confusion I have never had in my life for me, this experience is worse than war because you are physically tortured (side effects). I have now discontinued the tablets from the 8th day and still I have diarrhea and do not know why. However, I landed after deposition (antibiotics) directly in the emergency room where I spent 1 week there. After many examinations (MRI, heart ultrasound etc) no illness was detected except an alleged blood coagulation disorder (the doctors are not sure however). I have to say it honestly, these tablets are dangerous and can drive you crazy. I wrote this feedback during a panic attack. I really do not recommend that.

    Amoxicillin for Helicobacter eradication

Serious side effects Severe dizziness, disoriented, severe impairment of my psyche. Geschacksstörungen Slight fever (so-called drug-like fever) Ohrensausen (high-frequency sound) and the worst: a continuous hiccup over two days even at night, which made sleeping impossible and sometimes led to vomiting. This began on the second day of ingestion and lasted over a day after discontinuation of this stuff. I could return the o.g. Side effects of intolerance of amoxicillin. The only by the taking of this stuff were clear to me and occurred only a few years ago with me, which I could not then assign, because I had to take various antibiotics due to a middle ear infection. Amoxicillin I have to thank for this a persistent slight tinnitus, which remained after the mild otitis media (with immediate treatment with antibiotics). I was only able to find clues in the Internet that certain antibiotics can also damage the auditory nerves. This is of course the standard school physician always disbelievingly commented.

    Amoxicillin for Scarlet

Grüezi I had caught a scarlet fever of angina and noticed this after 2 days with very severe sore throat. The doctor prescribed me Co-Amoxicillin 1g Sandoz in the morning and in the evening 1 tablet of 1Gramm. In my opinion, 3x635mg would be better because the dose is better distributed, if you are mentally sensitive, like me! In the evening falling asleep I noticed strong feelings of happiness that persisted during the treatment. The feelings of happiness are not so bad, but since they are persistent it is already tiring, combined with bad sleep. I have informed the doctor but he said I have to stop there and I am glad that the antibiotics works! The package leaflet states: Very rarely hyperactivity, agitation, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, behavioral changes, drowsiness, convulsions and sensory disturbances may occur.

    Side effects: Insomnia

    Amoxicillin for Difficulties swallowing; Pharyngitis

After taking the very last pill, a strong itch began a few hours later on the ankles. I first thought of a mosquito bite (but in November ???). After undressing for the evening toilet, I noticed that my entire body was covered with thousands of small red patches and tiny pustules! It was terribly itchy on the back and on the feet covered with stockings. The next day I went to the dermatology clinic in Munich. There I was confirmed a massive allergy. I was prescribed now as an antidote for a total of 105 € the following remedies: Urbason 40mg, Pantoprazole 40mg, Telfast 180mg and Dermatop cream (Presnicarbat) for application to the entire skin. After five days, the skin looks a little better again. What I reproach the drug? That the allergy broke out only after taking the LAST tablet. I got an allergy from a sulfonamide 40 years ago – but after the second tablet. Then you can at least sell the tablets quickly. I still had an allergy at that time, but not as strong as this time.

    Side effects: Itching rash

    Amoxicillin for Salivary gland inflammation

Hello, I also have to notice beforehand that I also take special medicinal mushrooms, you do not even know how many people do not know its unique effect and when I tell you about it only in amazement meet me! The very very good and are also proven to be cancerous and For optimal digestion, recommend these and even my aunt has never had such good digestion and now takes my mushrooms for many hundreds of euros. Not the cheap from the pharmacy but directly from the manufacturer in Germany. I only mention it because of the penicillin because it also comes from mold spores! Previously, I had pain in the neck area when I turned my head and just took a rheumatic ointment against it and got a little better. I often took ear-sticks to clean the ears and previously had ear infections and therefore suspected my problem, but could also be caused by drafts in the car. who knows. So: One day when I drove with my mother to the flea market and noticed below the jaw a small bump and pressed so on it with finger to see if it hurt and what it is, then the same day still, got around on 27.4 .09 a clear swelling underneath the jaw and already suspected a tumor! A family doctor and the ENT doctor confirmed a salivary gland and made me with an antibiotics and I took 14 days. The swelling came again. ächzzz. went to the hospital and nobody could help me. the next day to an experienced family doctor and immediately ordered CT examination to exclude lymphnode or salivary stone what the other doctors did not do. had taken antibiotics for free for 2 weeks. He also prescribed amoxicillin for me and I see an improvement now. The dinger must swallow again 14 days and have only a slight Bauchmurren of it. In between, however, always take yoghurt and my medicinal mushroom extracts or active powders. So think this means with plenty of food does not show so dramatic side effects. But of course everyone feels differently. Can only recommend it.

    Side effects: No side effects

    Amoxicillin for Tick bite

Years ago, I took Amoxicillin for a tick bite. I reacted with an allergy to it. Got breathless breath and if I had not gone to the doctor in time and gotten an anti-allergy shot, it could have ended badly. Fortunately, this side effect is not very common, but it does occur. If you notice symptoms like shortness of breath, go to the doctor immediately.
