    Keppra for Epilepsy

Following a stroke 07/08 with hemiplegia and speech loss, Trevilor has helped break down speech blocks. The entire condition has improved from cheerful dementia (previously given a pure serotonin reuptake inhibitor) in significantly more alertness and clarity, and after just under two weeks. Epileptic convulsions made it necessary to provide a means of both muscle relaxation and seizures. Initially, ergonyl was given in conjunction with lioresal, causing severe restlessness, followed by near-comatose fatigue, confusion, and anxiety. Instead of Ergonyl, she now gets Keppra 500 mg, which she seems to tolerate a little better. Restlessness and fatigue are much less, but the confusion remains. Once the medication is reduced, she is mentally there again, but cramps immediately. After 3 months, a strong potassium deficiency was now noted, which was called a side effect of Keppra. By contrast, she now gets Kalinor effervescent tablets 1-0-1. In addition, she naturally takes metaprolol, Diovan, ASA and Simvahexal for heart, blood pressure and blood lipids. These drugs have been around for years.
