    Clarithromycin for Respiratory infections

Immediately after the first dose severe dizziness and up to 3 hours after taking the feeling of vomiting constantly. In addition, immediately after taking a bitter taste on the tongue (try to drown it with tea and sage ointments). After taking the 5 tablet so far I feel no improvement and still have bad sore throat and difficulty swallowing. In addition, I have abdominal cramps and pain in the kidney area and feel totally flabby.

    Clarithromycin for Bronchitis (acute)

What a hellish stuff! I took the first dose on Tuesday night and did not notice anything yet. For the next morning after taking the second pill: stomach cramps, fluid stool, palpitations and a disgusting taste in the mouth. Dare to doubt that I will endure this …

    Clarithromycin for Pharyngitis; Bronchitis (acute)

Since I have a penicillin intolerance, I got clarithromycin for my pharyngitis and bronchitis. Nocturnal sleep problems began on the evening of the first intake. In addition, it reduced the sore throat a bit, but I got a dry cough, which additionally tormented me mainly at night and kept awake. Food tasted no more, was somehow a different taste. On the 3rd day (today) of the intake I suddenly got out of the blue strong abdominal cramps, diarrhea and fainting fits. At the doctor’s visit was suspected that I have an incompatibility here, the drug must stop immediately. Now I torture myself with hourly coming and going abdominal cramps and hope that the drug is mostly broken down after this night. Oh yes, the irritant cough and my sore throat and difficulty swallowing are back. It does not help against what it should help against.

    Clarithromycin for Helicobacter pylori gastritis

I have been prescribed clarithromycin in combination with metronidazole and pantoprazole as a Helicobacter treatment. Already after the first intake I felt very bad: circulatory problems, nausea, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps and sensitivity to smell and light. I kept the torture for 4.5 days until I got heart problems and my doctor had to stop the treatment. Now 3 days after the end of this treatment, although the heart problems have become less, but still felt – that scares me. I would recommend to anyone as long as it is possible to avoid this medication.

    Clarithromycin for Sinusitis

I got clarithromycin from my family doctor for mild sinusitis. He said the drug was generally well tolerated. I pointed out to him that I can not take drugs that rarely cause tachycardia, because it has a massive impact on me. (For this reason, I do not tolerate cold sprays or paracetamol combination preparations). I assumed that he took note of this. Unfortunately, in the leaflet text again the reference to the occurrence of tachycardia … I should take two tablets twice a day. After taking it for the first time, I did not notice any side effects. After taking it for the second time I got the following symptoms: starting with an inner restlessness and nervousness, twists and turns that I could not explain. This increased to massive anxiety and dread. – Since I know the symptoms, I knew that there is again a tachycardia. My pulse rate was greatly increased. Likewise the heartbeat. I wanted to get out of my body, but I felt trapped. I got cold hands, especially cold fingertips. Furthermore, I noticed a greatly exaggerated libido, which I found tormenting, as it differs greatly from the normal sense of pleasure. (Similar libido accretion I only experienced with hormonal conversion to another pill.) As a further side effect I got strong abdominal cramps and violent diarrhea. As a countermeasure against the massive fear of death, I then took a tile to Tavor, which had a delayed effect. With its help, I was able to sleep at night, but I noticed a strong metallic taste in the mouth, which was very unpleasant. I then reduced the dose of clarithromycin to 2 x 1 tablet per day. I can not recommend this medicine for patients who have heart failure, are at risk of heart attack, are suffering from anxiety or panic attacks. These problems can be massively increased by clarithromycin !! Especially with colds, there are other antibiotics that are more compatible.

The antibiotic was quite straightforward in its applicability. Morning and evening after dinner. The side effects really bother me. It comes to abdominal pain and cramps, night sweats, tongue coating and dizziness.

    Clarithromycin for Bronchitis (acute)

Clarithromycin dura 250 mg: After the first tablet, my symptoms quickly improved. Starting on day 2, side effects such as insomnia, rapid heartbeat, panic attacks, depressive episodes, itching, dizziness, mild headache, dry mouth, eerie thirst began on day 3, followed by stomach cramps and infernal abdominal pain. However, all the side effects disappeared on the 4th day, except for the metallic taste that lasted the entire intake time. The last 3 days were no complaints. Conclusion: Unpleasant but sustainable side effects, I do not think antibiotics do the body really good but sometimes you just can not get around …

    Clarithromycin for Sinusitis; Bronchitis (acute)

Clarithromycin from Ratiopharm I took 5 T against acute bronchitis &. Sinusitis, which accompanied me already a good 10 days. Initially disregarding the symptoms, after the second to the fifth day there were alternating side effects in truly more extreme proportions (I am never ill, seemingly equipped with many defensive functions, quite athletic and a total anti-pill, only in the extreme SOS case I leave these on my body) such as gastrointestinal discomfort, stomach cramps, abdominal discomfort, joint, muscle and headache, disgusting bitter taste in the mouth and the worst were sudden arrhythmia which in turn led to sleep disorders, panic suffering a heart attack and consequently associated with massive sleep disorders. Then also made all sorts of x-rays, ECG, etc. All inconclusively, of course. All in all, a disaster or the side effects were more massive than the actual disease only one can in advance never guess how the body reacts and reads the leaflet with these many possible consequences, it seems almost impossible that none of them occur. The manufacturers simply protect themselves against all risks from something naturally understandable, would otherwise receive a flood of Regressen of resourceful lawyers on these.

    Clarithromycin for Bronchitis (acute)

Have the drug prescribed by the emergency service, because of acute bronchitis, vocal cord inflammation, fever and hoarseness .. I was really dirty .. For use: morning and evening one tablet. Compatibility: initially good, after the 2 tablet very severe stomach pain / cramps, chills. It was almost unbearable that I had to drive to the pharmacy and had to get some drops in my stomach. I stopped taking the antibiotics after 2 days – it is not right but I do not want to feel these complaints again.

    Side effects: Chills; Stomach cramps

    Clarithromycin for Tonsillitis

I took the drug for two days for tonsillitis and had to see my doctor again because the side effects were extreme and the real cause of the disease is now the lesser evil. Already the first night after taking 2 tablets (morning and evening) I was awakened by violent chills, together with fever dreams and strong nausea; I thought several times that I had to vomit. A bad experience. Today, the second day of ingestion, stomach cramps and diarrhea were added. Actually, I am always bad and I have a pressing headache. So far I have tolerated antibiotics actually good, but this means is an impertinence! As mentioned, I am back to my doctor, who did not actually have any negative experiences with clarithromycin, but he advised me to stop the treatment and prescribed another remedy for me. It is Rulid, which I have already taken a few times before. I do not know how my body reacts to the incompatibility on the one hand and the new medication on the other hand, but what choice do I have? Never again

I got this antibiotic prescribed by my doctor for 7 days. At first, the effect was very good, my anginal symptoms were quickly muted. But then came the side effects due to the antibiotic and if I read through the reports here, I have probably come off lightly. From the second intake day, severe stomach cramps, as well as severe dizziness and nausea, occurred to me, but I did not have to vomit. Soon these complaints were accompanied by a lesser hearing and a prolonged dull pressure in the head. The super-sweet taste in the mouth, as well as the disturbed sense of taste are minor evils. Since I rarely get any side effects from medication, I was a little surprised.

    Clarithromycin for Sinusitis

Within a few hours of taking it, I felt stinging stomach pains and a bitter taste in my mouth. After that, my stomach blew with severe upper abdominal pain. Diarrhea and abdominal cramping then followed. This phase lasted about 5 hours, then everything was fine again. After taking each tablet, the process was repeated exactly the same. After consultation with my doctor I was prescribed a stomach protection (pantoprazole). With the gastric protection, the stinging stomach ache was slightly better, but overall, each tablet still meant 5 hours of pain and toilet visits. Concomitants on the one hand were severe tiredness, on the other hand sleep disturbances at night, slight skin irritations on the face, changes in taste, sweating and wild dreams with confusion and depressive states. I have the drug after consultation with my doctor after 3 days (6 tablets).

Clarithromycin for Borreliose; Helicobacter pylori gastritis

Simultaneous intake of Amoxi 3 times daily and Clari 2 times daily for Helicobacter pylori and a feverish, chronic Borrelia infection. At first I was absolutely thrilled, because already on the second day my increased temperature for months dropped by one degree. Especially after taking the Amoxi grabbed me from the 2nd-3rd. Every day, however, the most extreme fatigue I’ve ever experienced, so I slept for several hours after each tablet, so the whole of the day. In addition, it hit me a bit on the stomach, mild stomach cramps, heartburn, mouthburn increased while taking more and more, although I can not say whether this was caused by Amoxi, Clari or both. These complaints could be avoided, however, if I had eaten as recommended before taking enough. In addition, I still had a disturbing metallic taste in my mouth and strangely everything tasted spicy, even water. From about the 4th intake day, I got more and more heart palpitations and later cardiac arrhythmia, which is why the treatment had to be stopped eventually. These heart misfires still continue today, 5 weeks after ingestion. Nevertheless, I find the medication recommended, as they are much better tolerated than these entries suggest here and if I read sentences like I would not take this voluntarily again, I can only shake my head. Sometimes antibiotics are the only effective therapy and for a few days side effects are better than the alternative of not getting well at all! One should not forget that here above average rate many people who were dissatisfied with the drug. And especially in the use of antibiotics against diseases such as Lyme disease, many complaints are not side effects, but Herxheimer reactions.
