    Keppra for Epilepsy

Keppra: Severe tiredness, tinnitus as noise in the ear (pulse – blood flow), cold, double vision, dizziness, drowsiness, sex dysfunction, sleep disorder, mood swings, depression, brittle fingernails, leg cramps, back pain, difficulty concentrating, thinking blocks, irritability, anxiety attacks, listlessness among others I had previously taken the drug gabapentin (Neurontin) for 4 years and with the conversion to Keppra my neurologist wanted the NW as fatigue, sex dysfunctions, concentrate disorders, slow thinking and mood swings, irritability, aggressiveness u.a. eliminate the drug gabapentin. She said that the Keppra would make me more cheerful and balanced and also no sex. Disorders include. That was a fallacy and I’ve obviously fallen from the rain to the skies. The Keppra showed significantly heavier NW than the gabapentin.

    Keppra for Epilepsy

After a brain tumor was diagnosed in July 2009 due to a generalized seizure, I take Keppra for prevention. The tumor was 80% removed in August 2009. Because of the scarring of the brain tissue or possible growth of HT repeated seizures can be triggered, I take preventive and continue to use Keppra 1000 mg in the dosage 1-0-1. Had no further seizure so far. Side effects with me are a moderate increase in weight (but can also be related to it, since I have stopped smoking), total fatigue in the time of 19:30 – 21:00 clock, associated with very strong sleep disorders (about four awake phases per night , every two hours), weekly approaches of minor depression. Headache and muscle pain also occur sporadically, but keep within limits. Occurrence of this aura with increased salivation and comical sensation as experienced before Epis. What bothers me most is the libido loss. I did not know yet. Hidden side effects can of course also be related to the brain tumor surgery or the remaining remainder of the HT. Price / performance is of course positive, because the costs are currently still fully covered by my health insurance.

As already described; no desire for sex and caresses have unfortunately become unwanted side effects as well as digestive problems, sheep disorders; sometimes fatigue and difficulty concentrating. The seizures are a side effect of the surgery, have been reduced to a few in the first 2 years after the operation, and it is estimated that I can do without the medication in 3 – 4 years. TOPAMAX 50 has also been tested recently, after two weeks of use it has severe depression, blurred vision, indigestion, severe motor difficulties, speech problems, persistent tingling in hands and feet, orientation problems. But was immediately put back on Keppra.
