Doxepin for Dizziness; Sleep disorders; Depression

Doxepin was given to me for the first time in the clinic (where I was hospitalized for three months). I took her about half an hour before I went to bed. During the first nights, very bad nightmares plagued me from my past, so I woke up sweaty woke. But then it lay down after about 2 weeks. Meanwhile, I take Doxepin for 5Mon.Ich could not say now that I’m better! It is a constant up and down. The only thing I have to determine , is that in this time I have increased by 5kg, which I am very sorry!

After morphine, Lyrica, Tilidine etc I finally have something against the pain, which helps: 25mg Doxepin. Due to the strong side effects, I rarely trust in Doxepin ran. 5 days were the longest I endured. Side effects: Shortly after taking drowsiness, not necessarily unpleasant. Then I can sleep fast, but wake up very quickly, then begins a night of horror. Sleepless, restless, anxious to paranoid, if I can fall asleep, I only sleep at the minute, with the worst nightmares. The next day I’m muddy and listless, somehow wide. My nose is so dry that it hurts, I feel like I’m getting flu. Increased salivation, I think is good. Until now, after each intake, small abscesses have grown in my groin which, after weaning, quickly rise (pus or sac) or simply disappear. More inflamed pimples on the face. Weight gain I can not judge, I take the tablets too rarely I think. Habs today with 12.5 mg tried, I am not so dizzy, nose is dry and hurts, still helps well against the pain. Let’s see how the night is .. The side effects seem to be very different for this drug from person to person.

But when I sit down, I have to hurt myself often and badly … so I prefer to take. However That’s just self-harm, just on installments.

    Doxepin for Depression

I have had severe depression for 20 years, and have had my best experiences with Doxepin 100mg and Opipramol 150mg. Side effects: very strong drive, occasional hypomania, mild panic disorders, nightmares and aggressiveness. But my depression is almost gone, only from November, the winter depressions come even more and go for 6 weeks in an acute clinic (psychosomatics). Only for information, the antidepressant effect outweighs all the side effects and life is fun again.

    Doxepin for Depression

Take Doxepin for 378 days. Initially, about 10 months a day 2x 50 mg. The drug has a calming effect on my mood, but not against the anxiety. Because of the many side effects (blurred vision, headache, loss of appetite, sweating, nightmares, nausea, diarrhea, cardiovascular disorders, circulatory disorders, thirst, dry nasal membranes and itchy skin), I reduced from the 11 month to 50 mg. That’s almost me fast driving down I got the worst suicidal thoughts and therefore take it until now (13.Month) involuntarily weiter.Werde but try in very small steps to get rid of it.I think so in 6 mg steps.I do not dare more quickly. And then that Unfortunately, there is still no sensible remedy (except for benzodiazepines), no side effects, for the unbearable fears. And Benzo’s addictive addiction. Have also tried in recent decades tens of preparations (Aurorix, Saroten, Cipramil, Mirtazepin and v.a.) Could not tolerate all the agents and had the strongest side effects.

In my opinion Doxepin is one of the best AD`s although it is an old AD, it can hardly be surpassed (with the exception of the tetracyclic AD Mirtatzapin which is also excellent and is gentle on the circulation). It helps very well to help you fall asleep, with nervousness and anxiety disorders it is also suitable as a (light) withdrawal pill. I myself use it for nervous insomnia when needed. To the negative properties / side effects that I noticed: – the AD has an effect on an empty stomach very slowly, only 1-2 hours. On the other hand, if you eat something very sweet and fat, it will be particularly quick (about 30 minutes), so maybe the weight gain that bothers most consumers. If it works then additional cravings for edible (which you can ignore with time, however!) Best if you notice that you are tired in bed and not to the fridge) – the next is the pulse increase which starts when it works , But that does not take long. I can deal with it very well and find it meanwhile no longer unpleasant. – Also disturbing is the dry mouth. You have a strong need for drinking but that does not hurt. Drinking is well known to be good and healthy. – if the AD works and you get tired then you also have the current loss of libido, but who wants to when he is totally tired? For me, this side effect is understandable and not a big problem. – really annoying can the nightmares werden.Die are not always but quite often. But even here I have to say, rather sleep through and bad dreams than nervously lie awake! In the morning, the whole thing is not so bad (I think) were just dreams and the reality takes place while awake. In general, Doxepin is a top medication that makes you feel more balanced and can really recommend it! Greeting Marit

    Doxepin for Depression

Although the dose was only 10mg in the evening, there were many unwanted effects. Very sedating for the first few days (1.5-2 hours after ingestion). Tachycardia, dizziness and balance problems, mild confusion, strong appetite increase, nightmares, inflammatory sensation in the skin (similar to a sunburn), severe dry mouth and nasal mucosa. Some side effects have subsided after the first few days. However, the intake was not more pleasant. The in my case wanted, sleep inducing side effect also disappeared already after 6 days. In the rest of the intake, an unbearable inner turmoil and inner dryness increased with concomitantly increasing external listlessness and slackness. There were also very strong mood swings. In addition, I felt absent, standing next to myself. The absent impression and the zombie movements were also observed by outsiders. After weaning / fast weaning, all side effects have completely resolved within 2-3 days of the last weaning dose.
