    Elavil for Depression

I was prescribed Saroten after taking citalopram for years. Due to various causes (for example, hardly any therapeutic measures) it was decided to prescribe Saroten (100 mg, retard) during a hospital stay. You get used to a lot of things and so I think that after several years of taking Citalopram it just lost its effect. Unlike Citalopram, I take Saroten in the evening instead of in the morning. At the clinic I got it at about 22 o’clock. About 2 hours later I became very sleepy and could also sleep well. I’ve been doing better since Saroten, but since the last hospitalization I have changed my life quite a bit to finally get rid of the depression. One should never forget that antidepressants are just an adjunctive support towards improving or curing a depressive phase. A regular daily routine and sports are prerequisites for improvement. A tip: Saroten has quite a sedative effect that can lead to the fact that you get out of bed in the morning, is a little dazed or does not even notice the alarm clock. If this happens to you, I recommend you to take it a little earlier. I take the tablet after some try now at 18 o’clock, so I am tired at 22 o’clock, sleep in time and get well out of bed in the morning. In any case, you should also discuss this with your doctor.

    Elavil for Depression

I have had experiences with three medicines, which I took one after the other. First of all citalopram, saroten (amytriptilin) and tianeurax (tianeptin) belong in this order. Reason for my treatment is a 13 months continuous dizziness that is still my daily companion and is the cause of my depression. I try to write as much as possible about all medications. These are different for each of me it was like this. 1. Citalopram. Taken for 3 weeks. A new generation serotonin reuptake inhibitor with a drive-enhancing component. My doctor recommends one tablet in the evening before going to bed. Of this I can only advise against it is impossible to sleep after that the drive-increasing effect occurs very quickly. That’s why I always took those in the morning. The sleep rhythm is a bit confused. Already in the first days you can feel the drive increase significantly. the mood-enhancing effect did not really work for me but some side effects. To mention would be there, for example the inner restlessness, sleep disturbances, mood swings and motivational problems. The drive increase is not always advantageous. It often happened that I just had to walk around the apartment because I could not sit still. All in all quite bearable but only if the desired effect can be achieved. I think the drive increase did not have to be that when the mood improves that comes automatically. Citalopram is one of the antidepressants with very little side effects. However, there is an improved version called: escitalopram supposedly with even fewer side effects and better effects. 2. Saroten (amytritilin). 4 weeks ingestion. An old-school tryptic antidepressant. It inhibits both the uptake of serotonin as well as dopamine and norepinephrine. Accordingly diverse are also the side effects. I took 1 tablet (50mg) every night. After that, I slept as well as I did not sleep for a long time. As a sleeping aid so very suitable. The mood-enhancing effect did not occur here on me. I probably would have needed to take her longer. As I read from other reports, it can sometimes take 6-8 weeks. But the side effects do not make it easy. Already after the first night I had a slight dizziness. In the days after dry mouth (especially at night). Fuck no matter adjustment, circulatory weakness when getting up, tiredness all day, and very fussy cravings for sweets. In 4 weeks I have already gained 2 kg. For me absolutely unacceptable because I was already overweight and was again depressive. And an antidepressant should do exactly the opposite. Luck problems I had no luck. By and large, a good drug sleep problems, panic attacks and fears you get so well and quickly under control. For me but contraindicated. 3. Tianeurax (Tianeptin) Only admitted in Germany since November 2012. Before that there were only in France and Austria. I was very skeptical before I took that and read a lot about it. Tieneptin is the only known drug that enhances serotonin uptake. In fact, he does exactly the opposite of what the other antidepressants do. But the secret is probably somewhere else. Anyway, I am very pleasantly surprised. I take the drug now for 10 days daily 3 tablets (12.5mg). For me, the effect occurred after a week already. I’m in a very good mood, I’m motivated and doing the things that I used to put off, like sorting paperwork on my desk. I have fun keeping up my social contacts and can even do sports again without any side effects hindering me. I’m optimistic again and emotionally balanced. It is neither impulsive nor sedative and I appreciate that very much. The taste of food is somehow more intense. I feel that as positive. The first night I had a funny dream. Otherwise I have no side effects so far. That’s how I imagine the effects of an antidepressant. It looks very inconspicuous. Unfortunately, my dizziness is still unchanged, but now I have reason to hope for improvement. A little tip on the edge for those who have to deal with depression. Short-term relief and immediate mood-enhancing effects can be achieved with a completely sleepless night. I tried it myself. In the evening a Citalopram taken, the night gone through and behold at 8 or 9 o’clock you are slightly scratched but has a really good mood. that holds

Elavil for A headache; Migraine; Depression

Side effects Saroten: tiredness, water retention, weight gain, dry mouth. Fluoxetine: side effects only at the beginning of the intake, meanwhile no side effects except weight gain. Fluoxetine enhances the effects of Saroten, so I stay at a dose of 25 mg Saroten a day (taken in the evening), with a fluoxetine dose of 40 mg a day (taken in the morning).

    Elavil for Depression

Saroten: The lightening effect was long in coming, about 2 months. After about 1 year, the effect subsided, so that was switched to another drug. Side effect: Dry mouth, tiredness, severe shaking Remergil: First, intravenously, to achieve a faster effect, then medicinal. Effect: Life was endurable! Side effect: strong tremor, abnormal cravings, heavy weight gain Citalopram: The effect started very quickly and is almost constant except for a few small interruptions. Citalopram is currently beating all other medications with me personally. I never felt so good. Side effect: restlessness, trembling, night sweats, increased dreams After about 4 years I have now the first major depression.

    Elavil for A headache; Migraine

I have long (4 years) against the recommended by my anesthetist Sarotentherapie for the treatment of my tension headache and migraine. If I have already read / heard the word antidepressant, I began to doubt whether that was the right one. In the end, I despaired of my permanent headache and so I got over to starting with Saroten- low doses (10mg at 48 kg body weight), since according to the doctor only a suptile dosage is necessary. After taking 4 months (scheduled to be one year), I can say that the tension headaches are much better and the migraine attacks have become rarer and weaker. I am glad that I was able to reduce my painkiller consumption and only have to resort to the Med in hardships. Initial dry mouth was initially uncomfortable, but gone after 2, 3 weeks.

    Side effects: Constipation; Mouth dryness

No side effects at the beginning, except extreme dry mouth. The slowly increased dose also resulted in increased dry mouth and further drying of all mucous membranes including eyes. After reduction, these effects were also over. After 1/2 year weight gain increased. Now after 1 year about 10 kg increased, despite reduced calorie intake! Harm-Benefit Comparison: No sleep problems, less pain, less psychosomatic problems and more optimistic attitude. So: shit wat on the few kilos, anyway never had a model figure!
