Fluoxetine for Post-traumatic stress disorder
*** General *** Fluoxetine is an antidepressant (SSRI). However, it is also used in diseases other than depression. For example, in case of obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia or posttraumatic stress disorder. If you take Fluoxetine, you should not take St. John’s Wort at the same time as it can cause bad interactions. Pregnant women should not take fluoxetine because it can be dangerous for the child. *** Personal Experiences *** I get along well with this medication. The most important thing for me is that it helps against the symptoms of my PTSD (depression, anxiety, flashbacks). For that I also like to accept certain side effects. The side effects are with me trembling hands, weight loss (but I can live well with that) and increased sweating especially at night. As I said, this drug is effective and well tolerated.

Fluoxetine for Depression
I had to take fluoxetine in addition to my therapy and stop after 3 months, because the side effects were no longer tolerable. Due to my depression, I was in treatment anyway, in addition, then came the medium. For 2 weeks everything was ok, no effect but no side effect. Then I slowly but surely got worse, I pulled back more, became even sadder and more desperate than I already was and kept playing with the idea of killing myself. I had no more appetite, no desire for nothing and got additionally migraine, which is not gone until today. After almost two and a half months, I tried to kill myself by taking all the sleeping pills we had. Thankfully they had interactions with each other, so I just fainted and my stomach had to be purged. No nice experience … Well, after three months as I said, I stopped taking it. In the last month, I had lost 11 kilos (from 59 to 48 kg) and then had to spend 5 months in a hospital. Never again!!!
Side effects: Migraine; Listlessness; Loss in weight; Anorexia
Fluoxetine for Depression
I have been given fluoxetine because of severe depression, social phobia and hurting myself. Effect: I was in a good mood throughout the day, sometimes almost hyperactive. I was not depressed or sad. Side effect: severe tiredness, I slept from 14:00 to 20:00 (again intensifies depression), suddenly the effect is no longer felt and the evening and the night became agony, slight weight loss, large pupils, slight shaking, hair loss , in the beginning strong, long-lasting period. Is good to recommend, if the problem is in the morning and needs support for the day! I, on the other hand, found out that I need something in the evening!
Side effects: Dilation of the pupil; Hair loss; Loss in weight; Tremble; Fatigue
Fluoxetine for Anxiety and panic attacks; Depression
My experience with fluoxetine was unfortunately negative. Because of depression but also because of recent panic attacks and anxiety, I wanted to try fluoxetine, since you do not gain as much weight as other ADs. My doctor said at the beginning that I have to be patient for at least 3 weeks (10mg) in the morning, but the NW were so strong after 2 weeks that I could not take a day longer to take fluoxetine. I have lost 3 kilos in 2 weeks because the appetite is completely gone and my panic has become 100x worse, I could not sleep anymore and I was even more depressed than before Fluoxetine! I do not want to scare anyone here, it may help others, but then I changed the drug from day to day (paroxetine 10mg) and after one tablet the fear was immediately better! The panic almost gone! With fluoxetine you really have to be patient, but if you get the feeling that things are getting worse and not better then please change the medication.
Side effects: Circulation problems; Fear emotions; Panic attacks; Insomnia; Loss in weight; Anorexia; Unrest; Nausea
Fluoxetine for Depression
Hello, I have been taking Fluoxetine 20mg for 7 weeks. I am suffering from anxiety and panic disorders. My fears are eig. Away but in between come again. I became very moody about it. Fluoxetine for Social phobia; Drive disorders; Depression
First (1-3 weeks) there was no effect. I was restless and had significant sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, nausea, etc. I lost about 6-8 kg. Over time, the complaints got better. I do not have side effects anymore except that I need less sleep. I become more confident because I’m hardly afraid anymore. No more depression, actually I feel great now, it can only recommend to anyone to try fluoxetine. But if I had not done any psychotherapy and worked on me for a long time, I would hardly have gotten this far. Head up people! It will be alright. Do not give up. I made it after years. My life was a shit. But today it is beautiful. I wish you all the best
