Prednisolone for Morbus crohn
I started with 60mg for 10 days. The first side effects were fast, I gained 10 kilos, got a big belly and a big face. Joint pain, severe reflux, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, loss of libido, and irritability set in during treatment. At 20mg the complaints started from the beginning, the dosage was increased again to 50mg. Since the cortisone seems to have a bad effect, it should now be an immunosuppressant. I’m a bit clueless now and do not know if that’s the right thing. The use of cortisone, however, should be treated with caution in any case.
Side effects: Libido loss; Irritability; Heartburn; Joint pain; Full moon face; Fatigue; Increase in weight
Prednisolone for Sarcoidosis
Because of the sarcoidosis, I first have 40mg for 3 weeks, then 30mg for 4 weeks, then 5mg down every 4 weeks and the remaining time 5mg per day. Side effects were on the first day by shaking to notice, after 3 weeks I was totally pampered, my environment was shocked, even strangers spoke to me I would not look good if everything was ok. In the 4 months I have 19Kg increased, of which were apparently 5Kg of water went down immediately after discontinuation down, the rest is persistent and can be difficult to get rid of even with diet and sports.
Side effects: Libido loss; Tremble; Appetite increase; Hair loss; Fatigue; Water storages; Dizziness; Increase in weight
Prednisolone for Ulcerative colitis
I had to take cortisone twice. Both times came side effects. Joint pain, nausea, sleep disturbances, tachycardia, sexual aversion, bad mood, pimples, ladybeard, soft, thin skin and after about 3 weeks the full moon face began to grow. It helps in the acute episode, 60-40 mg. When weaning complaints are stronger again.
Side effects: Libido loss; Pimple; Skin lesions; Joint pain; Nausea; Full moon face; Palpitations; Sleep disorders
