    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

Side effects of tamoxifen: hot flashes nothing else. Effects of Femara: Hot flashes less than tamoxifen. Joint pain, dehydration of the mucous membranes, loss of libido, tachycardia, frequent urination. For 5 years I took Tamoxifen, since autumn 2007 I take Femara. For about 2 months I have muscle pain in the shoulder area and strong muscle pain in the right upper arm. My GP sent me to X-ray and told me to do a scan now. Can someone tell me how long I can and should take Femara and if I can not sell it?

    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

I had a breast conserving surgery after diagnosis of early stage breast cancer and then 36 exposures. So far, no further cancer findings, but: Severe sleep disorders, frequent and strong hot flashes with subsequent freezing, especially at night, loss of eyesight, bones and joint pain, morning stiffness (especially in the back). I’m going to ask the Society for Biological Cancer Defense what to do and if I really need to take tamoxifen for another 2.5 years. The idea is horror. Against the hot flashes I take Remifemin with moderate success since 2 years. I can recommend 2 books dealing with biological cancer defense: 1. Cancer cells do not like raspberries and 2. Combat cancer with vitamin B 17. Get well soon for all concerned. Connie S.

    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

My experiences are, I have very strong Schweisausbrüche, Gefühsschwankungen, joint pain but only when it is cold. I have already gained 7 kg in weight, that bothers me a lot. From time to time I am Depressed and Aggressive. I can live well with that, but not with the increase in weight, that still makes me crazy. I often have sleep problems as well. I would prefer to take nothing more. With the removal of the ovaries, I thought I need tamoxifen no longer take, but unfortunately it was not so. I’m totally draughty about my weight, and my gynecologist’s statement is just that, that’s normal.

    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

I think I have everything there is to side effects. Hizblasungen but the finest. I have gained about 25 kg, water accumulation spread over the whole body, extreme in the hands and legs. Shortness of breath is also nothing extraordinary not only under stress. Some of my joints hurt all day. At 49, I feel like an old woman. Even my eyes have changed / worsened and burn constantly. Sleep in one piece, again a whole night, would be great, but not more. Add to that fatigue and fatigue. The meantime extreme hair loss has improved a bit, but the hair is brittle and dull. Fragile are my fingernails. So I think I could go on. If I was not that stubborn, I’d have dropped that stuff long ago.

    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

Slowly and very insidiously, the side effects have set and strengthened so much that I discontinued the drug prematurely after taking one year. By the side effects (especially strong pain in all joints and muscles, listlessness, hair loss, nail brittleness, strong mood swings, sleep problem etc.) my quality of life was so severely limited that it became unbearable! The drug has actually done its work, but – from my personal point of view – the price is too high.

After taking Tamoxifen for 15 months, I am currently ready to discontinue this drug on the spot. The hot flashes are limited, worse is the total exhaustion and fatigue. Can not go 50 steps without being completely out of breath, climbing stairs is an abomination !!! Because of diabetes melitus 2, I have been trying for some time to lose weight. Unfortunately this does not succeed. In addition, there is a buildup of water in the right ankle, occasionally bone and joint pain, which I get control of with Voltaren tablets. Since the second month of use, increased vaginal discharge has occurred. Since I have a lot to do in my job and my quality of life is also very important to me, I will try to have other tablets like Fareston or Evista prescribed.

    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

Hot flashes of tamoxifen in the beginning were very strong, but then significantly less. Bones u. Joint pain was bearable, I could with gymnastics, Nordic walking, swimming thermal bath, warm showers, a lot of exercise, well he wear. After taking Femara, the complaints were much stronger, in addition to thinner hair, inflammation of the mouth have increased, dry eyes. Hot flashes have gotten better, but now I’m tired faster after physical work. My bones-u. Joint pain is especially severe during rest and nocturnal awakenings. At the joint approaches I have pressure pain, can not wring out very well wipes, can not clean well, had a lumbar spine surgery after herniated disc 4 years ago. Will that get better after stopping taking Femara? What else can I do to make it more bearable except taking Diclofenac 75, which will help me well but not so often? I have to last another two years.

I can only experience to the contrary that I lost 8kg in 18months without change of diet, did not have any more mastopathies which were very painful and after 15 months the period did not materialize, which I found very positive. Disadvantage is the joint and bone pain (where I possibly tamoxifen absetze) because I work in amb. Nursing work, where much physical use is verlant. Hitzwallung I did not feel annoying.

    Tamoxifen for Breast cancer

I have been taking Tamoxifen since July 2010. I have hot flashes mainly at night and joint pain in my legs, which are bearable. Before the start of therapy I had strong and frequent hot flashes, also during the day, which has improved since taking tamoxifen. Weight loss up to now about 5 kg. I have the feeling that my general condition has improved since starting tamoxifen therapy. However, I realized now that my fingernails splinter and my hair is not so good to style. I hope that will happen again in the course of the therapy. Otherwise, I hope the drug works.

hey, now after breast conserving surgery with chemotherapy and radiation treatment in the last year, a tamoxifen treatment for 2 years let me go through. I also do my daily work, work is impossible, you can only panic.

After the breast op. chemo and 38 irradiations everything survived. However, the tamoxifen makes me very busy. Since taking 2.5 years ago, I have extreme bones and joint pain, there are still strong hot flashes, so that in medium-heavy work, the water just runs and sleep is completely out of the question. It takes all the strength out of everyone, which of course has an effect on my work (I’m tired fast and powerless)
