Hello, 14 days before Christmas I let me pull the Mirena. After 3 days, there was a significant improvement and until today I am doing really well again. I have joy of life again and I also like to go back to sleep. It was hell, day and night. I had them for 3 years and never again !!

After getting my daughter (today almost 6 years old), after having had a mishap three months after giving birth to me and my husband, I was told by my doctor to use the hormone spiral Mirena either after the pill or if I would like to avoid it in the long term , Since I have trusted my doctor blindly, as he is more likely to fall back on homeopathic medicines, I did not question this. After she was in, I had half a year bleeding permanently. After taking an additional hormone in tablet form (progestogen) for a few days, the bleeding stopped and my period stayed off all the time. This is also a desired side effect of the hormone spiral. For four and a half years, I actually forgot about the spiral, but there were more and more body ailments, which I initially always pushed to other causes but in no way led back to the spiral. After I had because of constant gastrointestinal complaints such as diarrhea, stomach ache, constipation 2 gastroscopy and a colonoscopy, nothing was found in both investigations. My depressive mood, and since the onset of hormonal spiral constant insomnia and when I could sleep, I woke up in the middle of the night and suffered from shortness of breath and got panic attacks with sweats. Then all the organs were sonicated and examined by me (thyroid, pancreas, bile, etc.) fortunately all normal and even now I was not thinking of my spiral. Then I consulted a psychologist and here, too, it got worse and worse with the panic attacks. In addition to the weight gain of 10-15 kg (which just did not want to go away (even with sports and nutrition there was nothing to do)) I suffered from total libido loss. Then I could no longer tolerate certain foods at once including various fruits and vegetables with which I had never had a problem before laying the spiral. After accidentally stumbling across the internet about the side effects of Mirena, I realized to my horror that the complaints of other fellow sufferers 1: 1 with my complaints. My marriage was threatened with the side effects, because I was only depressed and had no desire for affection. Since I had to think about it anyway if I wanted a new spiral or not, I decided against it and then wanted to let me go. However, this was also more difficult than expected because the retrieval thread was no longer found and finally I had to pull the spiral under anesthetic in an outpatient surgery. So far so good. After the removal of the spiral, I went through all the side effects that have crept in 4.5 years within three months in the time lapse backwards again. Today, my husband says he finally has his wife back. None of the symptoms described above are still part of my life. I would never let the coil be used again. And since then warn every woman about it, as the side effects can go on slowly and have massive effects on the whole life.

The side effects of Mirena come slowly. Usually after 2 years begins the negative effect of the spiral. Tiredness, unfocused, dizziness, nausea, weakness, insomnia, joint and muscle aches, masculine hairiness, itching, odor sensitivity, breast tenderness, altered body odor, muscle atrophy, head and back pain, water retention in hands and feet, brittle fingernails, panic attacks, muscle twitching. Mirena turns healthy women into sick women. In my view, the Mirena is not recommended ..

    – severe pain (pulling to the leg) before, during the rule and days before and after ovulation – depressive moods (irritability, aggressiveness) – oily hair and skin – tachycardia (throbbing in the head) and thus insomnia (once 3 days at a time ) – Inflammation in the pelvis – frequent outflow – hardly any menstrual bleeding (only brown, tough discharge)

Hello. I’m pretty shocked what I read like that. But somehow also relieved. I thought I was crazy. Have now my 3rd Mirena. October 2013 last exchange. I found the laying even though I was childless not too cruel. But it was not great either. I am 35 years old and wanted to reliably prevent 4 years for career reasons. So it was not OK to let the Mirena lay again. I have managed so well with the Mirena for the last 10 years. That was bomb. ONLY THAT NOW! In April I suddenly had complaints, nausea, howls, depression, sweating, sleeplessness, aggression, fatigue and at the same time restlessness and meanwhile I hate to visit somebody, water retention (up to 4kg), panic attacks, chest pain, migraine attacks etc. per month approx 25 days of pain with a huge, swollen hot bosom. Normally, I am active, facing others, very laid back, enterprising, physically fit. NIX out of the end. Was at the family doctor got a blood picture done. All values are great. Thyroid is also great … No need to worry. Then I am on gyn. Due to falls in the lungs, or rather slimy, bloody disgusting secretions, with back pain and abdominal pain. Conclusion. At the end of May, I was diagnosed with a cyst on the left ovary, but it was already dry. So died by itself. Estrogen excess – body thinks he was pregnant was the statement of the doctor – may happen again, but does not have – na primmmmmmmaaaaa – then breast examination. Two cysts discovered. For mammography but only for safety. Had to cancel 2 appointments, because I have only breast tensions and can not even say when they come and go. In the last two Mirenas I had a very reliable. Cycle. And never bleeding. Now in July I have the same symptoms again – I’m fed up. Tomorrow morning I have an appointment to move. I want to be myself again and not hormone controlled. I’m glad if this thing is finally out. Contraception must then somehow go differently – that settles already. Until October 13 I would have recommended Mirena to everyone and there are plenty of people who get along just fine. I thought also 10 years. It was also like that … but you change yourself too and at some point the body suddenly says NÖ! I started to hate this thing in me …….By the way, GV is not to think at all, because I have absolutely no desire. In the head sometimes, but that’s gone very quickly, because I feel completely stressed out of all this. In addition, since the last use little secretion still exists. So furztrocken … So from tomorrow a hormone-free life – jihaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa – I’m happy. Dorina
