    Cefaclor for Bronchitis (acute)

After stopping taking Cefaclor, after two days I got a rash that worsened to hives and breathlessness. It looked as if I had bathed in nettles for 3 days. After two days of rash and shortness of breath, it became so bad that even hospitalization became necessary. I will never touch this devil again, even if it helped for the bronchitis – I do not wish these side effects to anyone !!!

    Cefaclor for Otitis

My daughter (16 months) had Cefaclor due to a constant ENT infection, followed by fever. The drug helped immediately and was well tolerated. Towards the end of the therapy she had mild diarrhea, but this subsided immediately after stopping. – Two weeks later, she suddenly had 39 degrees Fever in the morning and touched her ears, so middle ear infection. Again, Cefaclor was prescribed, which I could only give until the 4th day, then she had violent diarrhea at night, writhed with flatulence and abdominal pain, the haunting lasted about 4 hours, then formed initially itchy, itching, strong red and swollen wheals, a day later under the armpits and diaper area. She screamed all day, scratching herself incessantly, never resting at all. The pediatrician then diagnosed urticaria (hives) and prescribed 10 drops of citirizine (antihistamine) for at least a week. That helped immediately. After just the first 10 drops (directly in the pharmacy) she retired within a few minutes and then fell asleep in the car. The puffiness and redness still hiked and spread, but they did not itch or hurt anymore and were not so hot anymore. She is like a substitute. Of course, now the snot comes back, because the therapy with cefaclor was indeed broken off, and so we will have to find in the next few days a better tolerated antibiotic, which can heal their ears. – As much as Cefaclor is prescribed for children …, it is probably not as well tolerated.

Our son received Cefaclor at 7 months for 10 days (streptococcal angina) and 4 weeks later a second time for a severe otitis media. 36 hours after taking the last (!) First red spots, similar to mosquito bites on ears and chin and neck, then leg worsening, after 20 hours moderate uticaria and edema in the face, hands and feet. Treatment with Fenistil. Further deterioration, after another 20 hours very strong Utikaria, face completely killed, 40 degrees fever, severe edema. Treatment with Cortisolzäpfchen. A total of 2 weeks treatment with Fenistil necessary, rash after skin irritation (eye rubbing, scratching), only after 3 weeks no more rash.
