    Topamax for Cluster headache; Migraine

Unbearable life with permanent strong headache has unfortunately brought me to take this drug. It definitely helps, however, the side effects are devastating, extreme drowsiness but a dose of more than 25 mg, fatigue, heaviness and blurred vision as well as nightmares. So unfortunately that also leads to incapacity for work! Would like more information about the drug.

Side effects: Blurred vision; Dizziness; Fatigue

After the start of taking Topamax it came pretty quickly to the described weight loss – pleasant – but also to disorientation. Can also be related to previous brain surgery. For the treatment of focal epilepsy and migraine, I can only recommend Topamax. Since SAB with Clip Brain Aneurysm, I have depression that is getting stronger and now being treated with amitriptyline. Now, my brain sometimes runs like a DVD player in fast-forward or I fall asleep at the desk, can no longer assign things, I’m just completely confused. 1 and 2 do not seem to be compatible?

Side effects: Dizziness; Weight loss; Fatigue

    Topamax for Migraine

For me, the drug has extreme side effects. So I noticed: (looked at wikipedia) very strong: extremely strong fatigue !!! increased irritability !!! Depression !!! Concentration disorders !!! Disturbed memory capability !!! the feeling that you can no longer learn what you have learned Sleep disorders !!! weak: eating disorders It is not clear if everything came only through the drug, but I suffer from severe depression. It was discontinued over a year ago. Positive effect: (had frequent strong Mirgäne with strong aura … blurred vision … tingling / paralysis etc …) no more migraine attacks since taking the drug and not even after stopping !!! Conclusion: Despite the positive effect of masking migraine, I would advise against any of this drug because of the side effects (which may have left me with significant lasting harm in the form of depression).

    Topamax for Migraine

I started with 25mg in the evening and should be slowly dosing. In the first week of taking it, I fell asleep everywhere on the way, constantly getting into the wrong public transport or missed my stations and was therefore everywhere too late. Also, I felt like someone had put a dark bag over my head. I was extremely dizzy throughout and although I had the feeling to see normal, I still did not notice the details in the picture (like cars). I thought that was due to the many medical appointments and I was tired. In the second week I was not busy as scheduled and should therefore work again to 100%. About noon I had to go home to sleep, otherwise I would have fallen asleep at work and would certainly not get any understanding. The doctor had told me that the side effects would be very strong initially and would decrease over time. After about 2 weeks, I dosed up to 50mg and hoped the side effects would disappear over time, I finally wanted to know if it helps against my chronic migraine. I could not think clearly, not only at work but also in everyday tasks, such as shopping or just walking across the street or driving two stops by bus instead of 16 to the final stop. I could not count at all, even simple bills like 5 + 2 were an unsolvable puzzle to me. Even so, I stuck to the idea that the side effects might disappear and took it further. I dosed after about 3.5 weeks to 75 mg up. I got terrible stomach cramps from it and just wanted to sleep all the time. My sense of direction and even the ability to use my brain for thinking and to solve any tasks in the work, was no longer useful. The attempt to reach my neurologist to ask him for dosing advice had failed, so I dosed myself down to 50 mg. I took 50 mg for 2 days, but the stomach cramps that I have had since the 75 mg dose were getting worse. I was no longer able to work at all and otherwise only a miserable misery. Since I still could not reach my neurologist, I set the dosage after 2 days on my own down to 25 mg, because it was unbearable. That did not improve either. Finally, I reached my neurologist and was able to completely stop the medication after one week to 25 mg. Thanks to this drug and my increased need for sleep and constant dizziness, my now almost 6 year old relationship almost broke up. I almost did not speak anymore because I knew that with my brain skill nothing meaningful came out of me and if so, I would not have been able to process or understand the answer at all. I believe a drug with such side effects not only has the short-term effects of side effects on the body and even if you do not perceive them as extreme as I do now, so must something strong, if you take it in the long term, certainly have long-term effects. I do not think it’s worth bringing such medicines for migraine, after all it’s a more pronounced kind of headache and not life-threatening, so it’s not worth stuffing yourself with such crap and ruining your body with it. Dear Migraine as a loss of personality and complete disability. But maybe that’s just my experience. I had the pleasure of playing guinea pigs for migraine medications for 2 years and then had a little rest and got along better with my aspirin, than with any other meds. I have not tolerated a single medication for migraine so far and have tested about 30 so far. Everyone had terrible side effects on me and no improvement at all. Maybe I am an incompatible exception and other migraineurs tolerate the drugs well. Incidentally, I had weight loss, but that was probably less of the drug than that I slept instead of eating lunch and abens as well. However, the feeling of hunger was completely absent. I had sensory disturbances all the time, but they were not as bad as the rest of the side effects. I also had extreme acne and difficulty remembering the past. I also usually had to cry after work when I came home. However, I do not know if I should count this as depression or just a natural feeling when you feel like you can not do anything normal under the influence of such drugs and just be insane. The side effects disappeared 4 days after drug discontinuation, including the problem of being attached to past events

    Topamax for Migraine

First, I increased the dose of topiramate from 25mg to 100mg daily. In addition to a strong tingling in hands and feet, I also have language and word finding disorders. In addition, I am tired and need much more sleep than before (about 9h). At 100mg, the migraine was gone, but I was also totally depressed. Therefore dose reduction to 50mg per day. Meanwhile, the side effects are so far okay except for the speech disorders and the tiredness and the need for sleep. At least I thought so. Until now it turned out that Topamax is damaging my liver. And pretty massive. Therefore, I can only advise all migraineurs under Topamax to keep an eye on liver enzymes! Conclusion: If the NW are tolerable, Topamax is really good. Otherwise unfortunately less. I have to stop it now. P.S .: Incidentally, I am one of the few who have slightly increased in Topmamax … but still tolerable at 4 kg

    Topamax for Epilepsy

I started with a 25 mg dose and this was increased to 50 mg after 6 weeks. Shortly thereafter, the first side effects have now reached a strength that is unbearable. In addition to constant tiredness (you can still bear it), I have suffered from severe weight loss (6 kilos lost within 4 weeks and it goes on) and extreme muscle pain on the arms, thighs and back that seriously jeopardize or severely restrict my quality of life , My entire musculoskeletal system is thus reduced to a minimum and move only under the greatest effort and suppression of pain.

Side effects: Muscle aches; Weight loss; Fatigue

Ergenyl makes me tired and I could not gain weight. And was unfocused at school and at work. And I just feel limp. Topamax did not help with my seizures. And I made kidney stones. Just had two kidney stone ops in a year behind each other.

I started in the first week with 25 mg in the evening and went up in the second on noon 25 and evening 25. Headaches have fallen by at least 50 percent so far. However, the side effects are insane. Yesterday, for example I was doing really well during the day, but at night it was really bad. I woke up and everything was so badly tingling, suddenly I hardly noticed any more and almost fainted. I’ve just had a strong tingling in both halves of my face for at least two hours. In addition, I am often depressed and often get wine attacks, I am tired, weakened, unfocused. Consider breaking it often and if it’s worth it. Try to go down a little bit with the dosage, let’s see what happens. It does not look too good with my appetite either. Had initially decreased from 53 to 50 pounds. Within the first week.

    Topamax for Migraine

I had migraine almost every day when I came to my neurologist, Natil N had not worked, so now he wanted to try topiramate. It got a little better, but these side effects, uhlala. Tingling in the hands, on the face and feet, dizziness – I can live with that. Often I feel so damned dejected and funny and I just do not know why and most of all I feel really stupid. I also forget a lot, can NOT remember anything. I know, for example sometimes no longer what I did yesterday and must first consider and think about 10 minutes … that is blatant and was not so before. As if the pills would just make you stupid, so you just forget the migraine and no more pain. It happens to me that stupid things, that’s incredible … And of course you’re tired, but I can live with it, even if I feel very depressed and often just do not feel like anything. I’m just bothered by the funny feeling, as if I’m really on a trip, or something, I do not know …. And sometimes I just get so sad and start howling. And mineral water tastes no longer the way it tasted, from today to tomorrow it tasted different. I’ve always been a water-drinker … now it’s no longer 🙁 It tastes of metal, or I do not know … Sweet sometimes … somehow, just bad, but it’s not that bad either, just like that a minor matter 😀 Unfortunately I had now the last three days Migraeneanfaelle although I take morning and evening tablets (25mg in the morning and 100mg in the evening) For the Anfaelle I take Maxalt I do not know if I should continue now with the ingestion or whether I I just do not want migraines anymore 😉 Sure, the migraine has become less, which I’m very happy about … but mhhh, these side effects … – & gt; Zwick mill. So: strong side effects and still migraines. Wish you good luck!

Have lost within a week 5 kg, that was the nicest side effect! Otherwise, I was with the drug very bad! At first, only this tingling in the toes and in the fingers, but then got depression and anxiety! Could not concentrate anymore, was just tired and I could not manage my household! I was dropped Topamax again and I was again switched to Lamictal, which I took before, again! I would not recommend Topamax to anyone! I am well again with Lamictal! But I also got seizure-free, despite the bad side effect! But I’m free of seizures with Lamictal!

    Topamax for A headache

After having had a bad headache almost daily for about 2 weeks, the doctor prescribed the Topamax for 3 months as a cure. I started with 25 mg, which did not help, only when I increased the dose to 50 mg on the advice of the doctor, the daily headache disappeared. The side effects came slowly. Loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea and with time more and more fatigue. Could concentrate badly and became more and more forgetful. Has recurrent violent palpitations (with normal blood pressure) and came in the smallest effort (Treppesteigen) in respiratory distress. At night I often woke up because my feet were tingling, my heart was thumping, or I had cold sweats. It got worse every day until I could not get out of bed for the last few days. The morning shower had gone so hard that I had to lie down again. Since I could not muster the strength to cook, I wanted to put at least one pizza in the oven for my children. To bring the pizza from the cellar into the kitchen had triggered tachycardia and breathlessness. Suddenly I realized that I was getting dizzy, the hands and feet began to tingle and became numb, my whole body was vexed. Could just alert the emergency call before I could no longer hold the phone and lie on the kitchen floor with numb arms and legs. Of course, I was panicked and thought, now everything is over. The spasm resolved, however, again after about 10 minutes (with the arrival of the ambulance). I was checked for safety in the hospital, but heart, lungs, everything o.k .. The doctor said it could have been very good the side effects of Topamax and I should leave it out. Do not take it for 2 days anymore and feel like a new person! Today I even cooked and cleaned again, no racing heart any more and my head does not feel as heavy as lead!

    Topamax for Epilepsy; Migraine

About 30 years ago I had my first migraine attacks; originally it was unilateral severe pain in the right temple, combined with nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound. The complaints have changed over the years, so I \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Sehstöhrungen and headache had to fight. In the past, however, the complaints only once a month, so I could be happy if it lasted for a seizure a day … End of December last year, then an epileptic seizure was added to me by Notartzt led to the hospital. Since then I take Topamax. I am very very divided. I had actually given up the hope to find something against the migraine attacks. The first 4 weeks since I took Topamax I had the feeling that the Sehstöhrungen still lurking in the background \ can not break through; mitlerweile but also that is gone. Sehstöhrungen / Auren I have since had no more; not for the first time in 20 years !! But there are mitlerweile a whole bunch of other z.T. serious side effects: tingling in the hands + feet, loss of appetite, listlessness, fatigue, suicidal thoughts (!), memory lapses; I take at the time in the morning + in the evening 50 mg each; I wish you success!

    Topamax for Migraine

Suffering from migraine for over 25 years. 5-6 seizures a month. After many unsuccessful attempts with acupuncture and various medications I have been trying for 15 months with Topamax migraine. Starting with 25mg, increased up to 75mg. The seizures have reduced to about 1 attack per month and I get the handle with Allegro or Ibuprofen well. However, the side effects are quite large: in the beginning very strong tingling in the fingers and feet, which is not so common anymore. Weight loss, taste impairment, concentration disorders and fatigue. In the last weeks forgetfulness and hair loss came to it. Despite all the side effects, it has improved my quality of life.

    Topamax for Migraine

Already on the second day I noticed a tingling in the hands and in both halves of my face. However, that has noticeably reduced and does not occur as often. However, I often feel limp and need more sleep than usual. In addition, I often feel slightly depressed and can concentrate badly. As a result, I often have problems expressing myself correctly. Furthermore, I have very little appetite, I have a feeling of hunger but then I ‘ve no desire to eat something, and after a snack, such as a cookie, the hunger was eaten and that was then a meal. I have now lost 12kg in the 2.5 months. But I’m more thirsty than before and drink a lot of water.
