    Doxepin for Bipolar disorder; Depression

Hello everybody, in 2002 I was diagnosed with a bipolar disorder. Back then I was still living near Stuttgart, where I had a doctor who really took good care of me. However, my husband and I moved to the beginning of 2003 in the Palatinate and I had to look for a new doctor. I was with two different psychologists, but I did not feel well from the start. My doctor prescribed Doxepin for me then. I became very tired of it and the depression itself did not improve after my subjective condition. I felt very depressed and unhappy. I could no longer take care of my household. My husband cooked when he came home from work in the evening and did the laundry. Although I was at home all day, but so impotent that I could not perform even the simplest tasks. The two psychologists, whom I then visited one after the other at the urging of my husband, continued to prescribe Doxepin for me, but both refused a talk therapy. The first said, one must first wait until the drug shows its effect, the second said in my illness, drugs are the most effective remedy and I would be better soon better. In the meantime, the medications made me “better” in the meantime (rather different, not really better), that I gradually got my daily life back on track, but I felt empty and dull inside. I had gained 18 kilos with the medication and practically floated next to me, because I never felt really awake. Nothing made me happy, my life had no quality of life at all. It went so far that in 2005 I thought about suicide. A co-worker of my husband recommended us a doctor who helped her very much and since my husband was always eager to do everything to make me feel better, we went to see this doctor. At that time Dr. med. Jonas Thomczyk in Kaiserslautern. I immediately felt very comfortable in his presence. He had a high level of competence and was ready to offer me a talk therapy. Unlike the other two doctors, I felt very well looked after and Dr. Thomczyk was available to me outside of his office hours and always ready for an appointment at short notice. Alone through the talk therapy I was after a short time noticeably better. Dr. Thomczyk discontinued the doxepin and prescribed me another medicine: Maprolu. I had never heard of it before, but I was happy to try it out. I can only report positive about the drug. After dropping the Doxepin and being on Maprolu, I soon felt much more comfortable. There was no sign of tiredness and I even lost some weight during the first few weeks. That combined with the talk therapy motivated a lot and after a month I already had a completely changed attitude to life. My mood, which had been neutral or bad for years, brightened and I was able to switch from half-time to full-time. I was much more resilient, more balanced, more able to criticize and my interest in many things came to life again. Today I live without medication and I’m fine. I have talk therapy with Dr. med. Thomczyk claimed, but he has unfortunately abandoned his location in Kaiserslautern. Unfortunately I could not hear the last two appointments with him and so my therapy ended with him without me knowing where I can reach him today. I think that’s a pity. Although he insisted on a final discussion and we also phoned again, but I forgot to give me his new contact information. Maybe someone is with him in the meantime in treatment and reads that. I would be glad if I knew where he works today. I would like to thank him again for his help. Without him, I would probably still float around like a zombie and see no point. Here is the exact job title: Dr. med. med. Jonas Thomczyk Specialist in Neurology and Psychiatry, Specialist in Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis Maybe someone knows where to reach him … he is a really good doctor. Conclusion: My experiences with Doxepin were not really good. However, I would like to emphasize that I have a friend who swears by this drug. On the whole, it depends on the person and how it works. Maprolu helped me a lot and I would like to recommend it here. Greetings Renate

    Doxepin for Pain (back)

I have had coccyxitis for half a year now. After the orthopedist had injected me three times specifically to the relevant site, and I had felt no improvement, I was referred to the pain therapist. It had already come in the past three years at intervals of about 1/2 year repeatedly to a coccyx inflammation, which, however, with appropriate syringes (1-2 syringes) administered by the orthopedist had passed again. But this time it was so bad that when I was sitting I only had a lot of pain, which went down to the buttocks and usually there was still a burning pain. Television was only possible in the lying, and then laterally best. I had to delete my beloved cycling altogether. Driving was also torture. The pain therapist also tried it with deliberately placed syringes, and in addition he prescribed me on my first visit Katadolon S long, of which I should take 1 whole tabl. It showed no effect for the first 14 days. On my next visit after 2 weeks, I got some injections again, but this time below. The doctor dismissed me again with the recommendation to take the Katadolon S long every evening. Two weeks later I had to tell the doctor that the treatment had been as good as unsuccessful again. Only great fatigue had invaded me after taking Katadolon, so I fell asleep regularly in the TV chair shortly thereafter. Probably that was too much, 1 whole tabl. Katadolon and 1 tabl. Gabapentin. For this I have to mention that for all my medications I still take gabapentin 300 three times a day because of my occipital neuralgia and joint and back pain. Now I have the doctor prescribed the following medication, I call it here drug cocktail: morning: Blutdrucktabl., Gabapentin, 1/2 Tabl. Tramagit 100 retard at noon: Gabapentin, 1/2 Tabl.Katadolon S long evenings: Gabapentin, 1/2 tabl Tramagit 100 retard at bedtime: Doxepin 25 mg after 3 weeks Ingestion of this cocktail: improvement in sight, but not yet well, can cycle again, but then has to take a whole pill of tramagit in the evening. (The doctor has allowed me) The greatest effect, I think, comes from this special composition, especially the addition of Tramagit. At most I feel a slight tiredness, which, however, only noticeable in the evening. In 4 weeks now I have another appointment with the pain therapist. Most of my hope is Tramagit. It is important in a tailbone ignition, so I have found that you always sit very soft. I take my special soft pillow everywhere. Summary: In gabapentin no side effects except increased appetite and thereby gaining weight, therefore eat consciously! 1 whole tablet Katadolon S long: great tiredness, possibly because taken at the same time with gabapentin, 1/2 tabl. Katadolon S long at noon is okay. Tramagit 100 mg retard twice daily 1/2 tablet: No side effects Doxepin 25: 1 tablet taken at bedtime, side effects can not be assessed. Fall asleep quickly

Doxepin for Pain (back); Sleep disorders; Depression

I have been taking Palladon Retard 8mg for 2 years as a permanent medication & amp; Palladium 2,6mg (up to 4 capsules, after consultation with my pain therapist) if needed. Not even in the first few weeks after the start of intake, very serious side effects occurred. The only are digestive problems (constipation) but I have very well with psyllium, whole grains, dried fruits and of course a lot of drink. The only thing that really bothers me is my libido loss. Since I also got a depression a year ago, my doctor gave me, after previous contact of a psychotherapist, the drug Citalopram. She prescribed me 1×1 in the morning and then I should dose myself higher if I realized that this dosage would not be enough for me. In the first weeks I was totally knocked out and tired and I had to force myself to get out of bed, but when this was over I started to feel really good. Today I take 2 Citalopram for several months in the morning and I can cope with it without any side effects. I have been very bad at Ein & amp; By sleeping. Wake up several times a night and can not fall asleep again were part of everyday life for me. Accordingly, then was my mood, mood as well as my desire for my husband. A friend I complained of had the same problem and she took Doxipin 50mg. She gave me three tablets so I could try them over the WE. I then took a half tablet on Friday evenings and I was able to fall asleep quite well and sleep through (which joy). Saturday and Sunday the same. On Mondays I am then to my doctor and have told her about this weekend and she has then also written me a pack of 100 Doxipin 25mg. The 25mg lost their effect after over a year, so I took two and got to sleep again. At the next prescription my doctor told me about it and she also approved it. I also tolerate the doxipin without side effects. Because of my crooked spine, I have a lot of heavy and painful muscle tension, so I’ve been taking Tetrazepam (Musaril) for more than 30 years and I still have the best experience with it. Of course, on days when I take the tetrazepam I leave the doxipin off. Even with this drug, I have no side effects. Since I often had a headache as a child, wrote me my former HA Novalgin (Novaminsulvon) against it. To date, and now over 40 years old, I still manage very well and have not had any side effect in the years. MCP drops & amp; I always have MCP suppositories in the house. Should I feel sick, because I accidentally overdosed (and only then I feel sick or I have to spit) then at least I have help for an emergency. Personally, I am very good with all medicines and I am grateful that they are there for me. Without these meds my life would not be so worth living. I can only recommend it to anyone. Now I want to say something to my family doctor and to my pain therapist: They trust me and they know that I would never operate with the drug abuse. Dewegen also often leave the decision to me to dose higher. Both say again and again that I know my body the best and could assess and dewegen leave me a lot of free hand. I am very grateful to them. Thank you for reading this long and I hope I could help you a bit. Biggi

    Doxepin for Dizziness

Hello, I am 33 years old and had an intervertebral disc surgery, I got Tramal before that and not a little 6 tablets a200mg. I did not want the tablets after surgery and my body was crazy. My doctor sent me to a detox where I got Doxepin 4 times a day 25mg. On the second day I felt totally bad: dizzy, tired, powerless, beeping in the ears, bad falling asleep, headache. I was told these are side effects of Doxepin. Now after a week nothing has improved. Can someone tell me when that stops and I feel better, every day the same because you will be so stupid. Please help. Thank you

    Doxepin for Fatigue

I get Doxepin because of a physical exhaustion with tension and weakness, but my head is clear, I am cheerful and cheerful, only the body is weakened. At the clinic I am given doxepin for the night. 1st day – 25 mg, 2nd day 50 mg, 3rd day 100 mg. It is terrible for me. On the third night I had the worst panic attack of my life. I can not get out of bed in the morning, I’m totally without a drive during the day, my legs have a lot of pain and sometimes my arms feel very heavy. I am shaking, very tense and restless, sometimes really aggressive. After a few days I got a noise in my right ear, after 8 days a hearing loss was diagnosed. The worst thing is that since taking my joy of life is gone. I am whiny, lamenting, sad. That was different before takingIt’s sometimes so bad that I feel like I’m suicidal. The doctors say that can not be side effects and want to increase the drug. But I’m not part of that. I’ll sneak Doxepin out now and see if I’m feeling better. I prefer to feel physically weak than without zest for life …….

Doxepin for Anxiety and panic attacks

Have used Doxepin differently than prescribed, with only 25 mg instead of 50 mg taken the first time in the evening. That was enough for me, the head was somehow spongy and empty. I have been able to sleep very well for a long time. Before, I woke up at 01:00 or 02:00 clock and have to ring the alarm clock only pondering, five days a week. Unfortunately, I was just as tired the next day, almost the whole day long. Dizziness, sometimes dizziness and a dry mouth could be detected in the morning. However, this has become less and less with time. I am more hungry than usual and have become more balanced. Much is not as important to me now as it was before. I just can not get it right for everyone, which almost made me collapse at work. Because I really suffered, when I did not get something done, or just did not answer the phone, I always had a guilty conscience. Constant fear to forget something or to make wrong, was my previous daily routine. Now after the 50 call until noon, I let it ring once synonymous and make important to the end. It is done one by one and sometimes “no” said to outrageous customers who want to have done everything immediately and best yesterday. For information I am harassed after work hours and also on the weekend of customers, which today is 24 hours a day, seven days a week service normal. Such customers do not bother me at the moment, before they almost ruined my head. The dose has since been increased to 50 mg in the evening and 25 mg in the morning. At the moment, this works quite well, the tiredness in the morning is less and I can still sleep very well. The dose in the morning, was introduced by me independently, because I was very restless, sometimes very easily irritated and also became aggressive. So far it’s ok, let’s see what else is coming. The hoped-for effect of mood enhancement has not yet occurred, I would also wish a little more drive. Then everything would be great. I’m a bit scared of the enormous weight gain, which is often stated here. Can not report anything, except increased hunger. Overall, more positive than negative changes are perceived by me.

    Doxepin for Sleep disorders; Depression

Hello, I have been taking Doxepin for about 5 years, mainly because of my sleeping problems. It is a very good medicine! I take 37.5 mg during the working days in the evening and usually 50 mg on weekends. It improves my sleep significantly and I feel a clear stabilization and lightening of my mood. I think everyone has to try out exactly the right dose for themselves. I advise everyone to start with 25 mg. Although one is pretty dazed for about 2 days, then most side effects disappear by themselves. From 50 mg it has unfortunately negative effects for me the next morning. The thinking is then much slower u. you feel a bit dizzy. Also, I have some tinkling, but that’s good to endure. The most important thing is not to give up immediately due to the tiredness of the first days. Also, one should not always increase the dose by 25 mg. I divide the tablets into quarter pieces u. can only recommend this to make u. thus only ever to increase by about 12.5 mg. I’ve tried a lot of sedative AD before u. must say that this helped me the best (with the fewest side effects!) By the way, it is a very cheap AD, that even the family doctor like to prescribe.

After morphine, Lyrica, Tilidine etc I finally have something against the pain, which helps: 25mg Doxepin. Due to the strong side effects, I rarely trust in Doxepin ran. 5 days were the longest I endured. Side effects: Shortly after taking drowsiness, not necessarily unpleasant. Then I can sleep fast, but wake up very quickly, then begins a night of horror. Sleepless, restless, anxious to paranoid, if I can fall asleep, I only sleep at the minute, with the worst nightmares. The next day I’m muddy and listless, somehow wide. My nose is so dry that it hurts, I feel like I’m getting flu. Increased salivation, I think is good. Until now, after each intake, small abscesses have grown in my groin which, after weaning, quickly rise (pus or sac) or simply disappear. More inflamed pimples on the face. Weight gain I can not judge, I take the tablets too rarely I think. Habs today with 12.5 mg tried, I am not so dizzy, nose is dry and hurts, still helps well against the pain. Let’s see how the night is .. The side effects seem to be very different for this drug from person to person.

Doxepin for Aggressiveness; Drive disorders; Sleep disorders; Depression

I’ve been taking mirtazapine for over 4 years, often had intense dreams and did not hear the alarm clock if I got up very early. At some point I had 5 alarm clocks but mostly brought nothing! Then suddenly I always got those dreams of my ex, I was not over him at the time. These dreams came more and more often until I then only dreamed the same and I was at the end, thought the pain tears me and I thought only of these stressful dreams. Then my doctor prescribed me Doxepin, and the dreams have stopped, thank God. But I still did not hear the alarm clock. It was always a pain to get out of bed in the morning, I managed to be punctual at 8 o’clock in 5 years. After falling into a deep hole again, depri with no end, miserable mood, and these aggression I have, avoid crowds at the moment as I am internally freaked out when I am in it, can not endure at the moment when these strangers to me to come close. I would like to box them all away. Then I prescribed my doctor Elontril and I now for 8 days, I noticed that I forget to eat that is bad had many years ne eating disorder, in this case should not actually be taken but I have in the handle when I eat I hope that will go away with the loss of appetite. Now to the best effect, I was the whole week punctually at just before 7 o’clock in the morning out of the houseIt happened that I had a training this week and had to get out so early. After over 5 years, I finally managed to get up so early without any problems, just the hammer that is a huge success for me :)) If I could get rid of this irritability and could be relaxed Elontril would be my miracle, let’s see how it develops ,

    Doxepin for Depression

I am 58 years old and have had moderate to severe depression for a good half year and therefore was initially given citalopram. However, this caused a massive deterioration of my condition within a few days, which is why my psycho-doctor recommended me as an alternative Doxepin. Doxepin I take now for 3 weeks and my depressive general condition has basically neither improved nor worsened. But there are now really unpleasant side effects such as persistent fatigue and very annoying tinnitus, a high-pitched, in both ears. Therefore, I expect to discontinue the drug very soon, as long as there is no noticeable improvement in my depression in the short term.

first to doxepin: I had doxepin as a drop was good in itself only it was too weak later also it was discontinued (always had to take the drops) because I always deliberately took 3 -4 times as much of it as I had (suicide attempts) fluoxetine: I have noticed nothing synonymous as it was on the highest dose was seroquel: I have taken until today, it is synonymous well tolerated only unfortunately, the fatigue has persisted with me so long that I did not cope with it cipralex: great! it really helps me a lot and I’m glad that I have it but I have to pay it out of my own pocket and it is very very expensive citalopram: very bad! I did not tolerate at all it felt like all the side effects of the leaflet had occurred to me I could not even go to toilet for a week, had water retention, strange skin inflammations, pretty much and I dropped it off by hand I am now 17 years and have been 9 years of depression it is difficult but I get along with it better and yes I have unfortunately much experience with drugs and also with therapists (was already at 12)
