    Amitriptyline for Fibromyalgia

Through research here in the network and exchange with those affected, I harbored the suspicion of fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, my family doctor is one of the species that calls this disease non-existent. On my own I went to a rheumatologist, who was also well versed in this area and the suspected diagnosis of fibromyalgia. This has since been confirmed by my pain therapist, an anesthesiologist. However, she considers fibromyalgia just another name for a chronic pain syndrome. I am currently treating her with amitriptyline. First, 10 mg 3 times a day. This had very good effects on the pain, in the initial phase, however, as side effects severe fatigue and depression. The depression subsided on its own, the tiredness remained. I switched to Amitryptiline 25 mg retard once a day to sleep in the evening. Unfortunately, the effect on the pain subsided and the tiredness remained. Now I try 2 x daily Amitryptilin 10 mg and at night the delayed-release tablets with 25 mg. Unfortunately, the effect on the pain is not as good as it was at the beginning, the permanent fatigue makes it difficult for me. I’m lying in bed for at least 12 hours and still feel like being wheeled. At work is so far out of the question, which puts a lot of mental stress on me, because I have fears of the future.
