Fluoxetine for Fatigue; Psychological instability; Drive disorders; Depression

Hello, After a BurnOut with situational depression in 2007 (paraoxat), I was relatively long without major incidents. However, due to high pressure and stress, few breaks and little bit of yours, it started again at the beginning of this year 2011. Physical symptoms (headache, toothache (pulling in the lower jaw), visual disturbance, tension, palpitations, thought carousel, severe acne, weight gain, dissatisfaction, no light in the sky) and pronounced negative sleep hygiene (sleep 16 hours a day). Strong PMHS (especially bad 2 weeks before) I first started psychotherapy and then with the use of Fluoxetine 20mg 1 A Pharma. The first weeks were really steep. I could hardly look out of my eyes, it was like a fog. The fatigue was initially worse, but my thought carousel within the first tablet dissolved like on. I quickly increased to 60mg, then land again at 40mg. I did not lose weight, but I did not gain weight. Four weeks, I was almost giving up, I sat on the couch in the evening and it clicked in my head. Like lightning that changed my thoughts and feelings and made me feel positive. The next day I was full of verve and I was finally better again. This cloudy mood, rain clouds, as if blown away. I immediately started doing sports and healthy eating to support all of this and during therapy I also tried to make my life so that I am no longer close to a burn out. So I take breaks, do not put myself under pressure and start to live again, what was missing in recent years. That sounds all very summarized, whatever it is, but I can say, the familiarization Fluoxetine, I have now switched to Ratiopharm, the fatigue was by ratiopharm why always better, was steep. I wanted to give up, I will not sell the drug for now and continue to take.

Take fluoxetine for 1.5 years. Reason: anxiety disorder (social anxiety, claustrophobia, emetophobia) My first experience with an antidepressant. Started with 20mg, reduced because of too strong side effects after 3 days and then slowly rebuilt to 20 mg. Take now for over a year 20mg daily in the morning. The first weeks severe side effects: nausea, loss of appetite, severe lack of concentration (I was actually completely beside me), severe headache, forced yawning, dry mouth, tiredness, night sweats. Better after about 2-3 weeks. Conclusion after 1.5 years: I can go back to work and work. Emotions, however, have fallen by the wayside. I’m pretty much indifferent, I do not feel like doing anything, I can not get up to sport or doing business anymore, I’m generally not interested in anything. I’m almost always tired and sleep 9 to 10 hours – in the afternoon I’m often so sleepy that I have to lie down. In addition to the fatigue and indifference: night sweats, sexual aversion, orgasm inability. At the end of the year I would like to slowly reduce my dose and let it escape. I would like to – despite all the fears – once again feel something like enthusiasm …

    Fluoxetine for Depression

I have 10mg at the beginning and go up to 20mg in 2 days. The first days were hell, I was tired all day, but restless. In the evening I could not sleep and was still restless. At the gym I could not feel anything because my muscles were incredibly weak and shaky. And with stress I became only more depressed including suicidal thoughts. Meanwhile, the side effects are mitigated, but the sleep problems and depression with suicidal thoughts are still there.

    Fluoxetine for Depression

I did not tolerate fluoxetine. By taking Fluoxetine my low pulse dropped again to about 40 beats / minute. I was bad, I was feeling sick. When I got up, I was dizzy. I could not work taking fluoxetine. I was far too weak for that. However, I have had to take a few other medications. It can not be ruled out that there have been drug-drug interactions.

    Fluoxetine for Social phobia; Depression

I have been taking fluoxetine for 3 months. Since I was very afraid of taking it, we started with 2.5mg daily, then 5mg, then 10mg and currently I am at 15mg daily. Nausea did not appear due to this small increase, but other side effects I am currently struggling with. Dizziness, tiredness, big pupils and blurred vision. I used to sleep like a stone and today sleep very restless, sweat and dreams very much and real. Maybe I finally start to process things? But I feel exhausted and tired all day. But my leg cramps, which I otherwise had very often, have already subsided.

    Fluoxetine for Depression

After long deliberation, I have decided to take my medication for an anxiety disorder. In the beginning I had a severe headache, but disappeared after about 4 days. Now I take the drug for a week and I notice how I am a little more balanced. Nevertheless, in the morning I still have massive anxiety, but they are limited. Except for dizziness and tiredness with twists, I have no side effects. Let’s see how well the drug works in a month.

    Fluoxetine for Depression

Already after 2 days I got a strong noise in the head. (1 tablet 20mg early). My already existing feeling of drowsiness has increased significantly. I was tired from the 2nd / 3rd day and could not sleep at night. I then discontinued the medication immediately. After weaning, the following side effects, slight murmur in the head, severe drowsiness, low blood pressure, occasionally severe palpitations, persist after one week. My GP can not help me either.

    Fluoxetine for Burnout syndrome; Depression

After diagnosis of depression caused by burn-out treatment by 20mg fluoxetine. After 7 months no significant improvement in symptoms, especially the physical, noticeable. Falling asleep, very lively dreams, nocturnal sweating, vertigo, lack of drive, difficulty concentrating, tiredness, nausea right after taking the drug. Weight loss also not recorded;). My doctor had actually promised me that about 1.5 weeks after the start of receipt, I would feel as if a switch was put in me, so that in the morning, for example, I could easily get out of bed. Unfortunately, the desired effect did not materialize and now I am switching to another drug to control the depression.

    Fluoxetine for Depression

I’ve been taking fluoxetine for almost a year against my moderate depression. At first I took 20 mg, I think for three weeks. Since I did not feel it, I increased to 40 mg. At this dosage, I felt more stable for another two weeks at times, but my mood fluctuated throughout the day. My doctor said that said that the drug was right for me, but the dosage was still too low. I increased to 60 mg. After about 10 days, I had a few days extremely good mood, but that put down relatively quickly. My mood stabilized. I became less sensitive and became more aware of things. Although I did not do more than before, but no longer accused me of this inaction. The drug was not euphoric (only the first few days), but built a kind of protective barrier around me, made me more relaxed. My mild social phobia became weaker. After three months, I reduced to 50 mg to find the lowest dose for me. It worked. Now, after almost a year, the effect seems to be weakening. I cry more often without a real trigger, am again easier to unsettle and often just want to pull the blanket over my head. I am not as depressed as I was before starting fluoxetine, but often distressed, self-doubting, impotent (I would reproach myself), irritable and sensitive. I will now increase to 60 mg again. Side effects: From 60 mg, I was much less hungry and also decreased. Now, with 50 mg, I have gained a few pounds. I’m not sure if that’s because of the drug;) I feel dizzy at times, especially when I’m getting up or something. I am often shaky and jittery. At first I had orgasmic disorders, but that has subsided after a few weeks. I have a headache more often than before. Also, my short-term memory does not seem to work so well anymore, I’m more bullish than before and forget halfway what I wanted. From time to time I had the feeling my heart would race. Since I do not know this differently from the depression and in general always slept a lot, I do not particularly like how much I sleep. But it’s probably 9-12 hours.

    Fluoxetine for Depression

I take 20mg Fluoxitin for three months. The first three days were very tough. Sweats, total insomnia, irritability, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea. After a few days it went and I found only slight dry mouth and libido loss. Meanwhile, everything has settled down, I have no side effects and I feel much better. I am more active, I can get up better in the morning, I am calmer in stress and generally have a much better mood. Fingernails grow again for the first time in years – I used to nibble on them before stress. This medicine helped me!

    Fluoxetine for Drive disorders; Depression

I took fluoxetine for a year to get a grip on my depression and my diminished drive. I started with 10mg, so relatively ‘soft’, immediately got a few hours after taking the side effects. It started with nausea and dizziness. i had a beer with a friend that evening and almost fell over. I just made it home. alcohol was taboo since then (after about 2 months I drank slowly and carefully again a bit of alcohol). I could hardly ride any more, got panic attacks, respiratory problems, circulatory problems – but massive. the appetite was reduced relatively strong (at least in the beginning, -4kg), taste changes, etc. extreme dreams, very filmy and confused, which I found rather interesting. the side effects sounded out relatively quickly. Only for alcohol did I react badly for a relatively long time. extremely fast drunk, so much that I immediately fell asleep, or gave myself and then fell asleep, bad headache, total film break (I woke up and knew who, where nor, nor what I was) – so be careful with the enjoyment of alcohol the dose was then increased to 20mg after about 3 months, and then 40mg 4 weeks later. this happened after consultation with my psychiatrist, and on my own request, since I hardly felt any improvement. with 40mg it was a bit better, but the effect was quite minimal. After less than a year, I often forgot to take the intake, consumed relatively high doses of amphetamine (speed) to wake me up, and to be focused. Of course, I was aware that drugs in a therapy are absolutely taboo. I talked about it with my therapist and they talked about ADHD because I did not consume speed to go to parties and be high. I used it as I said to be focused. she suggested ritalin to me, but not really prescribable in germany, and alone the ADHD test at a doctor costs around 250 euro. complete nonsense of my view. (I’m studying psychology myself, so I’m not a non-specialist) then I was proposed edronax. I take this now for 2 weeks. So far, I can not say anything except cold feeling in arms and legs. Conclusion on the subject fluoxetine – no to little effect. possibly due to misdiagnosis.
