I am a kidney transplant patient since October 2005. I took part in a study (Sandimmun) and was switched to Certican and Myfortic after half a year. Since then, my well-being is all right, but more and more often intestinal problems with diarrhea occur. These are the result of permanent immune suppression, the intestine is hardly able to form a proper intestinal flora. Here is an alternative intestinal cure for me to help restore an effective intestinal climate.

Side effects: Diarrhea; Unrest; Headache
Because of rheumatoid arthritis, I was initially prescribed sulfasalazine 2000 mg as the basic medicine in combination with prednisone 5 mg daily. At first, I tolerated Sulfasalazine quite well, and after a few days I had a kind of panic attack that was not completely familiar to me in this way. Had hyperventilated many years ago, but that was a real picnic unlike the current ones. The effect was probably only slowly after 3-4 months. In the meantime, prednisone was hard to imagine, and every attempt to set off ended with violent spurts. After about 3-4 months, unfortunately, extreme nausea, headache, sore throat, dizziness, diarrhea, depression, circulatory problems, sweating, tinnitus, dry skin and hair, and finally, nettle fever occurred. With prednisone, only the weight went up a bit, after stopping directly down again. In the end, I had to stop taking sulfasalazine abruptly because of a bad blood count and a few days later I felt better, no panic attacks, calmer and nausea gone. An improvement by Sulfasalazine I hardly noticed. Prednisone proved to be a miracle remedy in relapses and relatively well tolerated in low doses and short-lived. Side effect was that my cycle suddenly took place regularly and my skin was pure.
