    Topamax for Migraine

For me, the drug has extreme side effects. So I noticed: (looked at wikipedia) very strong: extremely strong fatigue !!! increased irritability !!! Depression !!! Concentration disorders !!! Disturbed memory capability !!! the feeling that you can no longer learn what you have learned Sleep disorders !!! weak: eating disorders It is not clear if everything came only through the drug, but I suffer from severe depression. It was discontinued over a year ago. Positive effect: (had frequent strong Mirgäne with strong aura … blurred vision … tingling / paralysis etc …) no more migraine attacks since taking the drug and not even after stopping !!! Conclusion: Despite the positive effect of masking migraine, I would advise against any of this drug because of the side effects (which may have left me with significant lasting harm in the form of depression).

    Topamax for Migraine

First, I increased the dose of topiramate from 25mg to 100mg daily. In addition to a strong tingling in hands and feet, I also have language and word finding disorders. In addition, I am tired and need much more sleep than before (about 9h). At 100mg, the migraine was gone, but I was also totally depressed. Therefore dose reduction to 50mg per day. Meanwhile, the side effects are so far okay except for the speech disorders and the tiredness and the need for sleep. At least I thought so. Until now it turned out that Topamax is damaging my liver. And pretty massive. Therefore, I can only advise all migraineurs under Topamax to keep an eye on liver enzymes! Conclusion: If the NW are tolerable, Topamax is really good. Otherwise unfortunately less. I have to stop it now. P.S .: Incidentally, I am one of the few who have slightly increased in Topmamax … but still tolerable at 4 kg

    Topamax for Migraine

I started in the first week with 25 mg in the evening and went up in the second on noon 25 and evening 25. Headaches have fallen by at least 50 percent so far. However, the side effects are insane. Yesterday, for example I was doing really well during the day, but at night it was really bad. I woke up and everything was so badly tingling, suddenly I hardly noticed any more and almost fainted. I’ve just had a strong tingling in both halves of my face for at least two hours. In addition, I am often depressed and often get wine attacks, I am tired, weakened, unfocused. Consider breaking it often and if it’s worth it. Try to go down a little bit with the dosage, let’s see what happens. It does not look too good with my appetite either. Had initially decreased from 53 to 50 pounds. Within the first week.

    Topamax for A headache

I take the Topamax in the evening, starting with 25mg, which I have increased weekly (had 🙂 – up to now 100mg (possibly it could still be increased to a maximum of 400mg per day, but then in 2 cans, tomorrow /Eve). – As it seems, but I will not do that, because with me the drug unfortunately not at all strikes, positive, I mean! How I would like to have at least weight loss as a desired side effect 😉 Otherwise, I suffer increasingly from depressive moods, inner restlessness, difficulty concentrating, headaches, noise and photosensitivity, etc. – Where I must add, I can not say whether it is is actually about side effects or just about the continuation of my 16-year history. In addition, I often think that I’m simply resistant to some meds. My God, what have already pumped everything into me …

    Topamax for Epilepsy

Have lost within a week 5 kg, that was the nicest side effect! Otherwise, I was with the drug very bad! At first, only this tingling in the toes and in the fingers, but then got depression and anxiety! Could not concentrate anymore, was just tired and I could not manage my household! I was dropped Topamax again and I was again switched to Lamictal, which I took before, again! I would not recommend Topamax to anyone! I am well again with Lamictal! But I also got seizure-free, despite the bad side effect! But I’m free of seizures with Lamictal!

I was prescribed Topamax in a day clinic. I had significant side effects. I felt sick all day. Tingling in the arms and legs and feeling of weakness throughout the body. Extremely what the tingling under the feet, which was also connected with pain. I was constantly dizzy. Visual disturbances also came about. The worst was the depression, to suicidal thoughts. I absolutely could not concentrate. I’ve had an anxiety disorder for over 14 years, which has now developed into a generalized disorder. The anxiety was compounded when taking Topamax. But none of the doctors wanted me to believe that these are side effects of Topamax. I also took other medications at that time, but when I discontinued Topamax on my own, the symptoms disappeared again. The only good thing about the drug was that I had no more nightmares.

    Topamax for Migraine

Already on the second day I noticed a tingling in the hands and in both halves of my face. However, that has noticeably reduced and does not occur as often. However, I often feel limp and need more sleep than usual. In addition, I often feel slightly depressed and can concentrate badly. As a result, I often have problems expressing myself correctly. Furthermore, I have very little appetite, I have a feeling of hunger but then I ‘ve no desire to eat something, and after a snack, such as a cookie, the hunger was eaten and that was then a meal. I have now lost 12kg in the 2.5 months. But I’m more thirsty than before and drink a lot of water.

    Topamax for Migraine

slowly increasing the dose for weeks – this did not equate side effects. Then severe vision problems (no straight line, letters distorted) when increasing to 1x 25 plus 1×12.5 mg. Initially, tapering to low doses (12.5 mg) for the eyes – this improved other symptoms, so they could be classified as side effects: severe diarrhea, headache, nausea, taste distortions (everything tasted bitter), loss of appetite, strong paresthesia in hands and feet – at night sleep disturbances -, depressive moods (wine attacks), weight loss 6 kg, blood sugar suddenly 122 (One week after weaning back to normal). Discontinuation of the remedy. Nevertheless, some side effects persist in a reduced form, the intraocular pressure still needs to be checked. The migraine (at least every 2 days, of several times a day with aura) has improved, but the price is too high. In particular, the depressive moods that lasted even with the smallest dosage, I can not accept.

    Topamax for Migraine

I started with 25 mg and slowly increased over 50 mg and 75 mg. The usual side effects, such as tingling, depression, acne I have also received. Weight loss unfortunately only 3 kg. Recently I have hair loss and not a little. I also have some problems with acne. Tingling and depression have become very rare. But the most important thing is that instead of having migraine once a week, I have a migraine at most once a month. Sometimes I just need a normal pain medication. And that is a success for me. However, I am afraid of any long-term consequences, if one must take this drug for so long or possibly permanently.

to Keppra: Fatigue, dizziness, aggressiveness, depulsive disorders, lack of strength and listlessness – side effects diminished after about 2 months of use, unfortunately, despite a high dose in monotherapy no seizure freedom could be achieved, therefore Topamax as second-medi, again severe fatigue, occasionally mild dizziness (slow dosing!), slight eye pressure, severe bones or joint and muscle pain – improvement after about 2 weeks after each increase, mild word-finding disorders mainly about 1h after taking Topamax – but seizure freedom !!! With Convulex (valproate) over 17 years completely seizure-free, weight gain, hair loss on the head or unwanted hair growth -> hormonal causes, other hormonal problems: cysts in the ovaries, absence of the menstrual bleeding, etc., Long-term side effect: liver parenchyma – & gt; Liver fatty acid GammaGT at 498 … & nbsp; WITHOUT ALCOHOL! Lamotrigine: gastrointestinal problems, increase seizure frequency

As already described; no desire for sex and caresses have unfortunately become unwanted side effects as well as digestive problems, sheep disorders; sometimes fatigue and difficulty concentrating. The seizures are a side effect of the surgery, have reduced to a few in the first 2 years after surgery, and it is estimated that I can dispense in 3-4 years on the medication. TOPAMAX 50 has also been tested recently, after two weeks of use it has severe depression, blurred vision, indigestion, severe motor difficulties, speech problems, persistent tingling in hands and feet, orientation problems. But was immediately put back on Keppra.

    Topamax for Migraine

I started with 25mg. Increase by 25mg monthly and I am now at 75mg (4×25). I had to start so creeping, because the side effects were so strong. Mood swings, depression, agitation, aggression, nightmares, anxiety. Since the burning on hands and feet was the most harmless. Since my migraine but very strong and common is nothing else than medication – Topamax is effective for me but I will probably still have to increase to 100 mg, if the side effects allow. Risk of weight loss I have to counteract with high calorie diet. Bananas and dried fruit are supposed to help against tingling – but I can not confirm that. Drink a lot of water against the kidney stone danger.
