Amitriptyline for Migraine; Sleep disorders; Depression

The drug has hit me very well in my sleep disorders and as a migraine prophylaxis after a good 2 weeks, but I have to say, only when my doctor transferred me to the 25 retard, from which I take to night 2, am. From the film-coated tablets I had a terrible metallic taste in my mouth after about 1 week and the dry mouth was also very bad. For revenue of retardtabl. I do not have that anymore. The only terrible thing is the steady weight gain that I do not get controlled !!

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

Because of the necessary ingestion of strong opiates it came after a long time with me to extreme sleep / sleep disorders for months. In the pain ambulance I was therefore recommended the additional intake of amitryptilin 25mg at bedtime as a sleep aid. The sleep problems subsequently decreased and the dose could be reduced to 12.5 mg (half tablet) after some time. In addition to the fatigue on awakening it comes to an extreme morning dry mouth, which leads to increased susceptibility to necking and dental problems. During the day I have to constantly suck candy to speak. The tablets have a pungent taste and if I do not swallow them with enough water, I get a stomachache.

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders; Depression

I got amitriptiline because I did not tolerate another drug so well. Constantly had stomach upset and was tired all day. The stomach discomfort since then I am now Amitriptilin subsided. However, every day I have headaches that always occur in between times. A little longer and sometimes shorter. In any case extremely unpleasant. Then there are still vertigo attacks. I always take the tablets before going to sleep. Despite the fact that I’ve been taking them for a while now, I’m not getting very tired of it. I can not sleep with it and sleep through a long time. In the morning I feel like driven by a bus. Have the feeling that my head does not fit through the door. The tiredness runs through the whole day. My family doctor said that everything was normal. However, I feel limited. In the household, in private life (no desire to nothing) and especially bad at work. I do not have a mood-whitening effect. It gets worse because of the side effects.

Side effects: Stomach pain; Dizziness; Fatigue

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

Due to a significant, chronic sleep disorder, I have o. g. Drug prescribed and taken for about 2 years, regularly, taken. Overall, the effectiveness is good for me, and I have developed no tolerance for this drug, I always take always consistent dose. However, that certainly depends on discipline and consistency. As far as the side effects are concerned, I have already seen a whole series, in particular the weight gain (15 kg / 2 years), which in any case depends on the medication intake. Long-term changes in diet, etc. are very difficult, because on the one hand, I was more hungry and on the other hand, even with changes in diet and physical activity very difficult to no weight loss. In addition, there is still a reduced performance and concentration capacity during the day, but not serious for me, but already noticeable. Then, of course, the risk of dependency, as with so many antidepressants and benzodiazepines. Also, I’m usually pretty tired after getting up in the morning, but that basically comes with me during the day.

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

I am taking 10mg for strong and permanent sleep and sleep disorders since 4 weeks. I have hardly any side effects, at most a little more thirsty at night and sometimes a bit tired during the day. But compared to before (2-4h sleep a night, not in one piece) the fatigue is laughable. I have not gained any weight at all, but I have always been relatively healthy and have been doing endurance sprays regularly for years, at 60-90 minutes 2-3 times a week at the stress limit.

    Side effects: Daytime tiredness; Thirst

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

I take a 25 mg prolonged-release amitriptyline in the evening. The first four weeks I slept a lot, in the first week 18 hours a day. But after four weeks, I had a normal need for sleep again. I take amitriptyline for recurrent chronic headaches. It reduces the number of pain days, but does not eliminate the headache problem. In addition, I take it against sleep disorders. During the first 3 months, it had a sleep-inducing effect, but then no more.

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders; Depression

I took the drug for 6 years, I should take it in the evening before going to sleep, so that I can sleep … I still could not sleep in and certainly not … But my doctor was convinced of the drug and there Familiar with a doctor, I took it … I could have taken valerian, would have probably come out the same … The side effects have been mainly weight gain, morning sluggishness and inner restlessness throughout the day heard … One Half a year after I started doing it, I gained 10kg … Due to the sluggishness, I could not follow my studies anymore and finally had to quit … I would never take it again and advise against it ….

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

I have very bad sleep problems. At best it is a light doze, where I have the same nightmares. Rather, I do not sleep at all and am 30 min. wide awake after bedtime. My therapist then prescribed Amitriptyline 50 mg, 1 tablet about 2-3 hours before going to bed. That did not help at all. Then I should go to a neurologist. He said max. 1 hour before going to bed I should take the amitriptyline. In addition, he then zolpidem prescribed me, which I should also take directly before lying down. Have it then for a few days at max. 2 hours sleep brought. Then everything was over again. 2 days ago I felt a real greed to take more of the stuff. I did not do that. Then tried to reach my therapist or my neurologist, both have a practice leave. I have anxiety and panic attacks, I’m often cold, I have cramps, sheer hunger for something sweet. Nobody can tell me something about this combination. I’m totally helpless and do not know what to do. Maybe this one reads here and can help. I can not live soon

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

Amitriptyline by the doctor for insomnia (150mg evening) and underweight get. Sleep disorders have improved a bit (now about 4 hours sleep per day), weight gain has unfortunately not occurred despite increased appetite. Side effects are significant, especially at night, tachycardia, nightmares and depression. Furthermore, no particularly hard erections are possible and the desire for pleasure has fallen sharply during sex and masturbation. Achieving an orgasm is greatly delayed even in masturbation (so from about 45 min.), But mostly not possible because the erection goes back before. Dry mouth and constantly disgusting coating and taste in the mouth are not particularly bad, but still disturb. Benefit and harm of the drug are overall in a bad relation.

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders

My doctor prescribed amitriptyline as a light sleep aid. I took a tablet of 25 mg the first day around 17h. Instead of getting tired, I was stupid. The preparation took from me the last shoots that I still had available. So I imagine the condition of the patients in one flew over the cuckoo’s nest after administration of their daily dose of tablets. For someone who is lethargic by birth and slow in thinking and can not fall asleep, this is certainly not a bad drug. Rarely got a worse prescription prescribed. Oh yes, they diagnosed an irritable bowel with me. Hoping that amitriptyline would help, I even took it the next day, half a tablet. And instead of taking the mushy chair, today I even had diarrhea. So bad, but honest. I hereby warn everyone to take this medicine.

Amitriptyline for A headache; Sleep disorders

I have been taking Elontril 150 mg, fluanxole, amitriptiline for 8 days now. Have previously taken paroxetine, since I suffer from the age of 18 years of depression. I was fine with that, but I had very strong diarrhea and a loss of libido! Now I have no more diarrhea, but a lot of other side effects, and I push this on Elontril: dry mouth, sleep problems, dizziness, drowsiness (depersonalization), head pressure, pressure in the chest …! My mood is good, but the side effects kill me! My question: do the side effects stop after a few days? Should I hold out or prefer to sell? Thank you for the answer!

Haldol and Risperidon … Hellendinger! But well … They work differently for each … In Haldol I suffered from painful gaze spasms, extrapyramidal movement disorders, mild tremors in the arms and legs and after weaning, a nearly 5 months persisting insomnia, only by diazepane intravenously was suspended for just 4 hours. Risperdal had similar side effects … tremor and uneasiness or something … Both drugs made me helpless and desperate! Amitriptyline made little mention of it … The drive got better … However, it caused a mania and confusion … And Seroquel … Works okay, but even at a low dosage of 100-0-100 it has strange emotional deafness caused! Good that I do not take all these fucking things anymore …..

    Side effects: Confusion; Insomnia

    Amitriptyline for Sleep disorders; Depression

For about 1.5 years, take 15 mg mirtazapine every evening. As for me bad side effects are loss of reality, bad nightmares, severe fatigue and lack of concentration occurred. After info to my therapist this changed from one to the morning the drug. Should simply omit mirtazapine and take a small dose of amitriptyline instead. After taking a restless, sleeplessness, panic attacks occurred. Was the whole night awake and I am thrilled by the apartment Had also tachycardia. Was even the next day still very hippleig and turned up.wie as if I would have thrown in any drugs. On work I was funny white and fit. Was during the afternoon then a little quieter. still could not sleep. My body was tired but my head was wide awake. I wanted to sleep but could not. Then managed to sleep for half an hour. But when I woke it was hell. Had full panic attacks, mood swings and suicidal thoughts. I’m totally crazy. I was just crying and could not stop. In my head were only bad bad thoughts. I could not think clearly anymore and was a completely different person. My mood swings changed from mourning to anger every minute. In my anger I ended up scratching my arms. I had such aggression against myself and against others that I would have been capable of anything. Was about to commit suicide. I was at this point in time. For me my life had no more perspective. The drama continued until the next morning. After I had burned up so mentally and physically from crying and thoughts, I just sat on the floor apathetically and did not respond. I was literally in shock. Could not sleep in spite of the exhaustion A well-known then was informed then I drove to the hospital where I got injected with a drug to calm down.

The side effects are limited, thirsty, tiredness, impaired vision, (blurred vision, gaining weight without feeling hungry, loss of libido, tiredness, lack of concentration, taking for a month now, but can still sleep well, but after first taking in May after weaning Sleep disorder and tachycardia reappear instantly, so it was increased from 10 mg to 25 mg, but now it feels like the effect on pain and depression wanes for whatever reason.
