    Topamax for Depression; Epilepsy; Migraine

After the start of taking Topamax it came pretty quickly to the described weight loss – pleasant – but also to disorientation. Can also be related to previous brain surgery. For the treatment of focal epilepsy and migraine, I can only recommend Topamax. Since SAB with Clip Brain Aneurysm, I have depression that is getting stronger and now being treated with amitriptyline. Now, my brain sometimes runs like a DVD player in fast-forward or I fall asleep at the desk, can no longer assign things, I’m just completely confused. 1 and 2 do not seem to be compatible?

Side effects: Dizziness; Weight loss; Fatigue

    Topamax for Epilepsy

I started with a 25 mg dose and this was increased to 50 mg after 6 weeks. Shortly thereafter, the first side effects have now reached a strength that is unbearable. In addition to constant tiredness (you can still bear it), I have suffered from severe weight loss (6 kilos lost within 4 weeks and it goes on) and extreme muscle pain on the arms, thighs and back that seriously jeopardize or severely restrict my quality of life , My entire musculoskeletal system is thus reduced to a minimum and move only under the greatest effort and suppression of pain.

Side effects: Muscle aches; Weight loss; Fatigue

    Topamax for Epilepsy

Ergenyl makes me tired and I could not gain weight. And was unfocused at school and at work. And I just feel limp. Topamax did not help with my seizures. And I made kidney stones. Just had two kidney stone ops in a year behind each other.

    Topamax for Epilepsy

My older daughter, 17 years old, has been on Topamax for 2 years, previously on Phenhydan for 14 years (previously on Luminal). The initial target dose of Topamax for my daughter was 125 mg (50 – 0 – 75), after about 2 months we had to increase to 150 mg, then about 175 mg again about a year ago. Until then, she tolerated the Topamax quite well, minor side effects such as uncontrollable laughing fits, occasional muscle tremors, a slight ataxia, and mild sleep disorders but there were already. But she was as good as seizure free. Almost 2 months ago we had to increase again to 200 mg per day (100 – 0 – 100) because the epileptic seizures started to increase again after gaining size and weight. And shortly after this increase began the difficulties: My daughter suddenly suffers from very strong restlessness (completely uncontrollable fidgeting in a wheelchair, while strong loud), massive sleep and drowsiness (up to 3 hours awake at night), besides, it has from now on massive screaming attacks, sometimes not calming for up to an hour, and also extreme mood swings: in one minute she still laughs, in the next minute she screams for no apparent reason. Of course, we do not want to have any seizure freedom at this price, so that we can reduce the Topamax immediately, and then, if necessary, creep in another drug.

    Topamax for Epilepsy

Have lost within a week 5 kg, that was the nicest side effect! Otherwise, I was with the drug very bad! At first, only this tingling in the toes and in the fingers, but then got depression and anxiety! Could not concentrate anymore, was just tired and I could not manage my household! I was dropped Topamax again and I was again switched to Lamictal, which I took before, again! I would not recommend Topamax to anyone! I am well again with Lamictal! But I also got seizure-free, despite the bad side effect! But I’m free of seizures with Lamictal!

    Topamax for Epilepsy

Starting with the medication, when I was twelve years old and had two seizures, you diagnosed epilepsy. When stopping the medication, I often had sweats, sleep problems and had trouble concentrating. At the time I was feeling very bad – but at the time I was a bit mule and so I lost a few kilos – but could also be related to a change in diet. Now I start to crawl the drug, take only 50 mg in the evening and drive quite well with it.

    Topamax for Epilepsy; Migraine

About 30 years ago I had my first migraine attacks; originally it was unilateral severe pain in the right temple, combined with nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound. The complaints have changed over the years, so I \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Sehstöhrungen and headache had to fight. In the past, however, the complaints only once a month, so I could be happy if it lasted for a seizure a day … End of December last year, then an epileptic seizure was added to me by Notartzt led to the hospital. Since then I take Topamax. I am very very divided. I had actually given up the hope to find something against the migraine attacks. The first 4 weeks since I took Topamax I had the feeling that the Sehstöhrungen still lurking in the background \ can not break through; mitlerweile but also that is gone. Sehstöhrungen / Auren I have since had no more; not for the first time in 20 years !! But there are mitlerweile a whole bunch of other z.T. serious side effects: tingling in the hands + feet, loss of appetite, listlessness, fatigue, suicidal thoughts (!), memory lapses; I take at the time in the morning + in the evening 50 mg each; I wish you success!

    Topamax for Epilepsy

While taking Topamax I had extreme mood swings, difficulty concentrating, numbness / tingling in the limbs and was very easily irritable. I also had difficulties in my job because of the mentioned side effects. Since the success of the treatment was only very moderate, I was then switched to Lamotrigine.
