    Tegretol for Epilepsy

I have received Tegretal since 2005 because of a seizure disorder (epilepsy, type Grand mal). The drug was slowly metered into my clinic. After 6 years of taking it I was able to see more and more side effects on me, ranging from dizziness to dizziness and gait disturbances. Diazepam was dosed to me 16 years ago after I was in sudden anxiety, unable to leave my apartment. Since Diazepam like all drugs from the Benzodiazepingruppe a very high mental and physical dependence potential, I decided in 2007 to detoxify in the clinic with another drug (Atosil / drug: prometazine) and a psychotherapy to get this suffering under control. Unfortunately, my intention has not borne fruit, so that I have at least a little quality of life to keep (my everyday life can accomplish alone), have resorted to diazepam again. So far, all other attempts to treat my anxiety disorder have failed. There were u.a. SSRIs and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors were used but did not produce the desired effect. I receive Tilidine Comp because of 3 inoperable herniated discs in the LWS area. However, I take this drug only if the pain becomes unbearable and Novaminsulfon does not show sufficient relief. A longer lasting use of Tilidine Comp I avoid because of the existing dependency potential. I strive as far as possible to limit the revenue to just a few days.

    Side effects: Headache; Dizziness; Nausea

    Tegretol for Epilepsy

My treatment with Tegretal retard, due to symptomatic epilepsy due to astrocytoma II, started in April 2008. After a starting dose of 600mg I had to double the medication to 1200mg after several incidents (partial seizures)! The drug worked so well that I had at least no more GM seizures, but still felt quite uncertain time and again, because I have always perceived slight auras, which was probably at the then low dose. – & gt; Side effects included drowsiness, attention deficit, loss of drive, increased liver function, low sodium levels, occasional anxiety, and severe itching of various areas of the skin. So a total of really violent side effects! – & gt; Since the last dose increase from 900mg to 1200mg I also have severe hair loss. Due to the rather poor effectiveness with me now a conversion to Keppra or Lamotrigin is planned, following the reviews here, the Lamotrigin prefer.

    Tegretol for Epilepsy

\ ‘llöööchen! I am born ’55 and suffer from epilepsy since the age of one. 14 years ago I was switched from Milepsinum and Zentropil on Tegretol, declined as its effect was added 1 1/2 years ago lamotrigine. Today’s dose: morning 2 L / 200 + 1 T., noon 1 T, evening 2 L + 1 T. As 18 months ago the effect of Tegretol subsided rapidly, it seemed that I SWEi all day (excluding the morning. in the first hour after getting up) had problems with the disease. Since I take Lamotrigin I feel much better on the one hand. The seizure-free times take i. d. R. 6, sometimes more weeks. For several months, however, come with me now and nasty side effects: When it comes to an attack (which only takes a few seconds), it may be that all back O.K. is and I have \ rest for weeks again. For some months, however, it has also happened that shortly after a seizure a form of induced depression is noticeable. . That is, after the attack everything is back \ \ okay, I’m starting to work on the PC (yes, I know: Epilepsy Warning) and will then suddenly \ down \ drawn. I must then leave the apartment (out, out, out!), Go to the hall and it is not uncommon that after 2-5 minutes it’s all over. but it takes longer, I forsake the apartment and put myself there among people where I remain anonymous and yet a sense of belonging feel (z. B. Port of Hamburg, Central Station, etc.). Sometimes the depression lasts 30 minutes, but sometimes 2, 3, 4 or more hours. About 6 months ago it was 6 hours. I do not wish anyone a day like that, really no one !!! It was horrible !!! Just horrible !!! I never want to experience such a day ….. never, never, never, never again !!! It was getting worse, I fell and fell and fell and became sadder and sadder and sadder !!! It took 6 hours (!!!) before I landed \. Even today, the \ induced \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ This time it took about 90 minutes before I could give the all-clear. I told my neurologist and since I come from a related field (Psychol.), We try together to solve the problem. So far without success. But I do not want to discontinue the medication, because despite everything in my life, I have never felt as good as I have for 18 months. That would be it. BYE
