    Doxycycline for Borreliose

For the treatment of a borellia infection after a mosquito bite on the Rhine, Doxy-M-Ratiopharm (high dosage, once a day) was initially prescribed. After a few days, especially in the abdominal region, a skin rash occurred (small reddish spots, itching – no loss of income). After 10 days, therefore, the antibiotic was changed to amoxycillin. The rash on the belly disappeared, but now a strong whiplash-like rash on the legs. Focus of the rash thigh front (runs mainly from the outside top to the inside bottom), slightly lower at the inside and back, also slightly lower at the bottom and again strong at the back of the knees and an isolated spot on the lower legs. The insect bite was seen in the upper third of the left calf (puncture site 3 weeks after the sting, but rash disappeared due to borellia infection). Suffice it to say that I also respond to erythromycin and acetomycin with skin rash in the abdominal region. I can not say anything about the progress of the rash after completion of the therapy.

    Doxycycline for Borreliose

Doxy-M is well tolerated despite autoimmune diseases and previously damaged liver, with only a slight, temporary deterioration in visual performance. Complaints have occurred in o.g. Combination after repeated administration (shorter period) over months very, much improved. Clinda brought stomach problems and bitter taste. Relapse after about 7 months. Thereafter, unfortunately, with repeated treatment only a quick recovery, rashes under Clinda.

    Doxycycline for Borreliose

The first day after taking it feels pretty dull after the first hour. This feeling remained daily after ingestion. This has to do with the effect of the strong drug and is also i. O. From the 2nd day until the 5th day only watery bowel movements. The hunger is there and I eat too, but it all comes out watery at all times. Today, just before taking the 5 tablets (1 x 200 mg daily at intervals of 24 hours) it bristles in the stomach. I take the medicine with the meal to me. Over the weekend follow 2 tablets. Then it goes to the doctor. I can handle it if the disease is defeated, but I do not want to cause more. I am in the first stage and I have wandering flush with flu-like syntoms.

    Side effects: Fatigue; Diarrhea

    Doxycycline for Borreliose

Doxy-M-Ratiopharm 200 mg was prophylactically taken after a tick bite with a reddish border. The drug was completely ineffective, fortunately without side effects, and was replaced with Bayer’s doxycycline. Given that it is supposed to be the same substance, I wonder about the justification for this drug. I wrote to the manufacturer. This responded after more than a year with a 10-page questionnaire, which should be filled out by the attending physician. My doctor rejected the questionnaire, probably because of the size.

    Side effects: No side effects
